I would not go here. They tried to rip me off and they know it. They said they'd look at my truck no problem, with no mention of "service", "charge" or price... Then, when they call to say it will be $450 to replace spark plugs and a fuel filter, I said I would pick up my truck. He then tried to charge me $80 for the diagnostics, even though he never even mentioned there would be a charge, even after I told him I was not ready to make any financial commitments before they got started. He decided to be mad and argue with me. I picked up my truck and took it to a place that looked at it for free, then quoted me $100 less for the service.

Was out running errands today and picked up a bolt in my tire. Called Tom to let him know and headed his way. He was able to squeeze me in and after the reoair, was able to be back on the road in less than 30 minutes. Tom has always been very fair and reasonable. In this case a tremendous help in a pinch.

Tom and his team always do a great job. I called Tom Friday morning to see if he could do a repair today on my son's car. He said that he could get it in next week. Took my wife's Mercedes ML500 there for drive-train and sensor issues. Tom and the staff are great and went the extra mile on a couple issues that were the manufacturers fault. Pleasant, honest, very reasonable prices. I was passing through on a crosscountry road trip with rescue dogs when my alternator went out and the minivan lost power. I called eight mechanics in the area, and Tom and his crew were the only ones who agreed to work me in between jobs and install my part that rainy day. They really got me in and out of there efficiently despite little to no advance notice. Totally appreciate you all! I felt like an honorary Lincoln resident by the end of my experience with you and the Autozone employees nearby. Thanks again from Luna the guardian dog, Curly the border collie pup, and me!

They didn't actually work on my car but Tom's upfront honesty will bring me back to them for any future issues. I emailed regarding an issue with my vehicle. I received a reply within 15 minutes asking me to call because Tom would like to ask me a few more questions. I talked to him and explained a little more. He said he was going to research and call me back. Within 20 minutes he called me and told me what the most likely problem was and how to fix it. He didn't want to charge me hundreds for something we can do ourselves. Well, we fixed our car for $25. I will always take my car here in the future because of Tom's honesty this time. Thank you!!

Rarely do I find a review worth writing! Nor do I typically need to take my car in, but when I do, it will be here. The owner is extremely helpful and honest. Finding honesty, at an automotive shop, is really something to celebrate. I took my car in for a 65,000 mile check. I printed out a list of items needing looked at (timing belt, battery, spark plugs, leaking gaskets, fuel pump, idler pulley, etc) because I wanted a lot of items checked over for preventative maintenance. I dropped my car off in the morning and then returned after work (I also received a phone call at work on the status of my car which was very convenient). The owner went down my list with me one-by-one. To make a long story short, he could have easily charged me thousands of dollars (I estimate $3,000 to $6,000), but instead he let me know I could stretch out many of the proactive service items for another 10,000 miles or so. He didn't make a buck off me that day, but he will in the future, because it's obvious to me he put me first over his business- that's rarely found these days. I highly recommend Husker Automotive!

Honest, fast and personable. Tom and his team do great work. Passion for cars shows and works to make customers happy. Doesn't do any work without running it by you first. Explains reasoning well and gives you options. You don't have to worry about surprise bills and he stands by his work. Tom is a great person to know for non-car people. If you want a go-to mechanic in Lincoln, switch to Husker Automotive.

I had a very mixed, and ultimately, bad experience here. First, the wife of the mechanic is VERY nice and good with communication even after hours. I had a car that the Honda dealership indicated the head gasket was blown. I am always wary of dealerships costs for their repair shops so I took it into Husker Automotive. She said that her husband didn't think the head gasket was blown and wanted to look into it for me further to determine what was wrong. They decided to replace something they thought was causing the issue (I believe it was temperature gauges along with replacing the spark plugs). Charged me around $950 but I told them to round up to a $1000 as a tip b/c they "saved" me a bunch of money. Well, two weeks later the same issue reappeared and I took it to Honda and spoke with a manager. He ran diagnostics for free and showed me the video confirming that the head gasket was leaking and there was fluid in the cylinder. I had them fix the head gasket. I called Husker Automotive and she said something to the effect of "Oh. Well I am glad they were able to get it fixed." So instead of "saving" me money, they actually cost me an extra $1000. I was also disappointed in the response to her husband not being able to confirm that the head gasket was, in fact, blown. He convinced me it wasn't so the car was being driven when it should not have been. In the end, very nice and good with communication but when a customer says that another mechanic states this is the problem, and you convince them it is not the problem when it actually is, you have to question the ability of the mechanic to diagnose issues. Also, no attempt to make it right in the end which I found disappointing.

Tom goes above and beyond. He is a straight shooter, honest and upfront. I have been taking my cars to him for various things for over 5 years now and I recommend him highly to people looking for a fair and honest mechanic. It is very hard to find someone who tells you truth when dealing with your car, and I have been more than satisfied with his service.
