Pricy. The work they did was decent so far. My problem has been fixed as far as I can tell. I give them a 3* because they failed to tell me the price. It cost more to fix than it wpuld have been to buy a brand new instrument cluster. They fixed the problem but I could have bought a new cluster for $300 less than the $900 it took to repair. And no, they didn't tell me how much it would be before hand or call me when they knew. My fault for not inquiring more in depth before leaving my car with them.

Terrible shop they had my car for a starting issue the wiring to my security system faulted shutting down the fuel pump/system. They had my car over two months "fixed" it twice each time i got my car back it still had starting issues and still has a security fault. They charged me 1700 bucks to not fix the problem twice and the guy Dean said "you know what I wish we never got your car to he honest we don't know how to fix it" but he still charged me. At this point I'm over it and done with this shop highly recommend not going save your money and time!

I needed my alternator replaced, my appointment was scheduled for Thursday but I dropped it off the Friday before, after they had already closed. The friendly and knowledgeable crew had my car done by Monday morning, 3 days before my appointment! I was prepared to spend a ton on a rental car but they saved me that expense. Fairly priced, quality work and I’m beyond happy with my service. Thank you!

Ray was great at fixing my RV coach battery solenoid. He also fixed a couple of other issues I was experiencing. Super helpful, patient, and kind!

I have worked with them for several years. This time my 99 Buick had turn signal issues. We replaced the light and holder a couple times. They were able to figure out the problem and this time it's working well. They were able to work with me on the costs involved. Being on social security isn't easy to stretch the dollars. I think they were very good.

1/7/25 As a Follow Up... Nothing listed below, as a response, is actually true. The only truth is that they replaced the battery without my permission. I took the car into Tune Tech in downtown Boise following my dismal experience at Husky. They provided me with screenshots of the diagnostics performed and let me know there was no electrical problem, whatsoever. They called the following day and confirmed it was a faulty starter and requested approval for the parts and repair. They replaced the faulty starter and the car has been fine ever since. 12/3/24 I was referred to this company after my mechanic was unable to troubleshoot a starting delay when turning the ignition. I called and spoke with Frances who was very pleasant. I explained the problem and all the repairs that were made to the car before bringing the car to them. (Replaced Alternator, Negative Battery Cable, and Ignition Switch before bringing to Husky) I specifically asked that they call me before doing any repairs and authorized a Diagnostic Check. I left the receipts for repairs already complete with the staff. Early the next day, we received a call from technician to say that HE REPLACED THE BATTERY because two cells were dead even though the battery tested fine. As anyone who has google will tell you, there is no way the battery tested fine with two cells dead. When we picked up the car this morning, the starting delay was still present. We actually recorded the problem while trying to start the car. We were still required to pay for Diagnostics and the Battery. We left with the car not repaired. I am not sure how Husky remains in business if this is the standard of care and professionalism shown to clients who need a specialist to repair the electrical system in the car.

I’m not one to leave a lot of reviews, but at a minimum my hope is that management will see this and take it into consideration for employee training. I stopped in today looking to replace a light bar wiring harness connector for my pickup. The storefront was mostly empty except for an employee behind the parts counter. When I approached, he didn’t bother to look up from his computer and so I said that I had a question if he had a minute. He looked up at me apathetically and said “I don’t actually, but what’s up?”. I laughed in disbelief at the rudeness of his response. I decided to attempt describing what I was looking for (including pictures) and it was clear that he didn’t want to try to help with a solution and suggested several times to go to Home Depot of all places. I had a few additional parts I needed to buy that I know they sell retail, but I decided to purchase elsewhere. I will likely never return again if in need as I can probably find friendlier and more helpful assistance elsewhere. At the end of the day, this is not a review to dissuade folks from working with this business as much as to send a message to Huskey Auto Electric to step it up and do better.

Dishonest mechanics, I brought my car in for sensor lights and was recommended a $230 dollar ABS sensor. Checking around I couldn't even find one for more than $180. 5 minutes down the road Autozone sold me one for $40. As a amature mechanic it took a socket wrench, jack stand and 1 hour of my time. Do me a favor and go anywhere else.

I bought a mercades sprinter for a camper conversion job, but it had aftermarket electrical equipment that was spliced into the vans factory wiring and couldn't remove it myself. The van was an expensive purchase and was worried that If i took it to a mechanic they might mess up the vans wiring because mercades have complicated wiring. Anyway, they inspected the van for free to even see if they could work on it, told me they could do it, gave me a quote, and did the job well. Im super happy with the job, and the price was under what was originally quoted. I think it was harris who did the work. Thanks you guys.

When I’m looking for someone to work on my car the two things that matter most is that they do a good job and that they are honest people who are looking out for my best interest, if that’s important to you as well, give the crew here a look. They were not only helpful, quick and fair to me, they went out of their way to ensure other people were taken care of in ways I typically haven’t seen with other technicians while I was waiting for my car. Thank you guys for getting me back on the road in my own car in 24 hours after weeks of struggling to find a fix elsewhere, it’s appreciated.

Absolutely wonderful. Lauren and Dan were massive helps in bypassing our fuel pump in an old Volkswagen, wrote down proper procedures for us and even drew a custom diagram for exactly what we needed. Will be coming back. Awesome service.

I was initially excited to go here after reading all the positive reviews; but they let me down. I asked the business to replace one problem which I knew was the issue with my vehicle. They did that; however; they decided to also replace light bulbs and other fuses that I already knew were out without my consent - no phone call. When their shop time is $120/hr and it took them a total of 2hr 20min they were trying to rake in some money. I brought that up, and they refunded me 7 minutes or $14 and sent a guy to go take out those parts. When the guy went out, he walked directly across my soft bed cover which is now damaged as a result as it's not supposed to take any weight. The entire project should have maybe taken 1 hr from start to finish (thats how long it took me to replace it the first time, I just wanted it professionally done). Initially gave 1 star, however I went back and we were able to come to an agreement. Heres my breakdown: 0 stars for communication. I later found out they did not replace the plug and did not communicate that to me 4 stars quality of work. I went under my truck and they did a good job rewiring the part I asked for.

These guys went above and beyond for me. The communication was stellar and even though we had some hiccups with my car getting fixed. I was pleased with the overall result. Good atmosphere and honest guys. I will be back if I should need this kind of work in the future

What an amazing, hometown business! I own some REALLY odd and rare vehicles and parts availability can be near non-existent. That means sometimes I need to have existing parts rebuilt but finding somebody to rebuild an alternator for a 40 year old French car is not exactly easy in this day and age of planned obsolescence, disposable generic crap. Finding Husky has been a huge help in this regard! They have the best attitude.... instead of telling me: "Nope we can't rebuild that as parts don't appear to be available..." they instead find a way to solve the problem of parts availability or unfamiliarity. They put the effort in and because of that these rare cars will remain on the road for others to enjoy. I can't thank Husky enough for their effort and commitment to be issue solvers instead of just looking for shorcuts and profit. They rebuilt 2 alternators for me and while $200 - $300 per unit may seem expensive, it's not when you consider just how unavailable these units are. $500 is a bargain. And I even appreciated it took them 3 weeks to do the jobs because I felt like they were taking their time to do the jobs right, not fast. And the tech that did the job would even check in with me about things like how I wanted the outer finish of the alternator to look... "Do you want it bead blasted or smooth"? I was so impressed. What a great experience and what a great business.

This is a great shop! Ray is so knowledgeable and really takes the time to explain things well. He's up front about labor estimates and parts, so nothing is really a surprise in the end. I called in for two separate jobs within a month of each other on my Civic and was always able to get a next-day appointment. The work was also a fast turnaround. First they replaced a leak in my AC and changed the compressor. Then they diagnosed an issue with my transmission, which turned out to be a pressure switch. Pricing is better than other shops I called before finding this place and they don't nickel and dime you like others. Huskey is absolutely my go-to shop going forward!

Joel and his team saved our vehicle, and our wallet. A dealership from my town was going to make us pay 10-15k for a wire harness replacement. We drove up to Huskey and within a week the problem was solved at a fraction of the cost. Couldn't be happier. Will always recommend.

For years in the past, I had them rebuild my starters and alternators and had such good luck with them. Recently I went in and specifically asked to specifically just have my voltage regulator and alternator checked. Long story short, they never tested what I asked, they stared working on the vehicle without asking and charged me labor, they never checked the regulator or alternator for what I asked. It's just not like it used to be.

Joel and Dan are everything that you are looking for. Shops like this are getting harder and harder to find. True Savants of their industry who know everything about what they do inside and out. Not only that, but I came in thinking I was going to need a $600 aftermarket upgrade and left with a $240 unit. They talked me out of a part they make more money on to make sure I had the right thing, not the thing that profits the most. I am a 40-year-old man who has spent my entire life in the automotive industry. Of my six uncles, five of them are mechanics, the other does bodywork. My entire career myself has been in this industry. I used to go to shops like this with my dad. Carburetor shots, driveline shops, and this place is just as great as the ones I grew up going to. That old-school feel that will treat you right, at the right price. These folks have my business so long as they are in business. I don’t care about pricing, I will never go anywhere else. Trust, honesty, integrity… You just don’t find it anymore

We were referred to Husky Auto Electric by a friend for our Dodge starter. When we arrived they were very up front with us letting us know that sometimes those starters and not so easily fixed. They took the time to explain the components and the quality that was necessary to he able to replace it :) We took it apart right there and it was fixable! They had the parts right there! We got the starter fixed and taught more about our starter in less than 30 minutes! Customer service like back in the good ole days!!! AWESOME!!! Thanks Dan :)
