I had the best experience with Jay’s Total Car Care. I was driving from Las Vegas to Oregon when my brakes started acting funny. When I called Jay’s, they were so accommodating and willing to get me my car in first thing in the morning. The customer service was truly the best I’ve had in any situation like this. They were knowledgeable and kind! And they were willing to fix my car quickly! I appreciate them!

THE WORST SHOP!! I took my car into Jay's because it was stalling out during warm up. They played the guessing game on what the problem was. The first time I spent 3k on parts and labor only to take the car home and 2 days later it stalled out again. Had to pay, again to get it towed back. Then Jay said he was 100% sure that the problem was a transmission plate, paid again to have the part replaced, another 1300. The car was still stalling out!! Then was charged for more diagnostics and told to come get my car. They wanted me to drive the car until it broke down?!?! What the ..??. Now not only is the car still presenting the same problem but it's also loosing power while driving on the freeway. This is a totally new problem that they caused. This shop is very unprofessional and only cares about money!! You would think that they would be concerned about the safety of there customers!!

Brought my Ford F150 Tremor in to add some hood lights, side vent lights, front grille lights, and front blinker upgrades. Technician David did a great job and tackled it like a pro. Great job guys. Will definitely come back for future truck upgrades.

Paid over $3000 for suspension work that failed within a year (ball joints, control arms, and labor). Was told over the phone all napa parts are warrantied. After confirming in shop that it was the warrantied parts that failed, the shop still refused to honor the warranty. They blamed prior ownership and tried to upsell additional repairs. The new owners do not stand by their word, and their warranties they advertise are non existent. I own a local insurance agency and used to send all of my clients here. I’m changing my prior review from a 5 star to 1 star. based on the above experience I cannot recommend this business even for minor repairs.

I drive a 2004 Porsche Cayenne with almost 230,000 miles on it, and after a weekend of rock crawling up in the Sierras, I noticed some pulling in the rear. I brought it into Jay’s, and they had it up in the air right away. To my surprise, they found no major issues (I didn’t even know my SUV had skid plates!). It turned out the pulling was simply an alignment issue from the rough terrain. What really sets Jay’s apart is the honesty and care. They didn’t try to sell me unnecessary repairs—just gave me the truth aboutmy vehicle and its condition. Brenden, their head service advisor, is incredibly knowledgeable and actually keeps your finances in mind. He’s walked me through multiple options, explained the differences, and even helped me start pricing out a lift kit. If you’re looking for an automotive shop you can trust, with a team that’s skilled, honest, and customer-focused, Jay’s Total Car Care is the place to go. I won’t be taking my Cayenne anywhere else.

After charging me thousands over what the extended warranty paid them the parts/repairs they failed after 5k miles. After having another shop look at the truck and determine the damages I had to have the truck taken back to them for warranty repairs. They completely denied the parts warranty stating I misused the truck which is a complete lie. There faulty parts or labor has caused 11k in damages and they have taken no responsibility. Leaving me with a giant tow bill and huge repair cost. Do not use this shop, there are much better and more honest repair shops in Reno/Sparks area.

Great customer service. My car wasn't passing smog so they diagnosed it and told me what it needed. Brendan and Fen helped bring the cost down to fix it. Constant communication! Great service. Thanks guys!

We had to get our entire transmission and struts replaced at the same time. They worked with us to get an affordable price and one of them even stayed late after the shop closed to stay on the phone with us and 2 separate financing companies to make sure that we were taken care of. The new struts that were installed ended up being faulty so they had to replace them again, but thankfully it was under warranty and they made sure to go through a different brand than before and worked hard to get our car back to us as soon as possible. This is a good shop and they will take care of you.

I had my truck repaired at jays back in feb 2025 under my extended warranty to repair my turbos and manifold. This shop charged double of msrp on part after looking at the repair order, and charged me 3k over the extended warranty when it should have been cover with the deductible. After calling him out on this he said there is nothing they can do which is a complete lie. Less than 5k miles on the truck and both turbos blew causing much more damage. I had the truck towed to a much more reliable shop (Greg’s garage) which determined the damages. After I had to get it towed back to jays because of the warranty where they are completely denying the warranty saying I misused the truck because there was a mud under it from a wet dirt road. 11k in damages and I am stuck with a broken truck. I can’t believe the level of dishonesty and zero consideration for the customer. This shop will take advantage of you with a smile and leave you with no options. They will make sure they are not at fault for any faulty parts or labor. Do not use this shop, there are many better options in Reno/Sparks.

Our car ran great but had a check engine light so we wanted it looked at Two people told us over the phone they were running a winter special and it would be $150 for a 1 1/2 hour diagnostic Brenden was the second person that quoted that I wrote everything down we had to put a $50 deposit down. We only went with them instead of the dealership because of the lower price but when we got there the charged us a total of $239 and when I questioned it he said that was wrong info that two different people gave us but if I canceled the appointment I would have lost my $50 deposit. We left the car there then they called us and said they needed it longer and it would be another 2 hours so they kept it longer and charged us a total $547 just diag the car we decided against doing the work with them because we were lied to upfront and first impressions mean a lot and their quote was very high so we picked up the car they were still putting it back together they brought it out and it was running once I drove it home and turned it off it would no longer start. I bought a brand new battery just in case and that’s not the issue. Not sure what they did to it but I would not trust them uh n fortunately money seems to be what they are after not helping customers.

I bought my rain gaurds myself and wanted them installed professionally. I called several places but lead time was 4+ weeks out. One of the places I called recommended Jays. Jay got my truck in within days! They did a fantastic job and although there was an issue with the shape of one of the guards, when I had the seller send a replacement Jay got me in quick and took care of the replacement free of charge. I have the utmost respect for the quality of work and their professional ethics. I recommend if anyone needs work done, schedule it with Jays Total Car Care.

After paying another auto repair shop in the LA area to install new headlights they weren't adjusted properly so I had to take the car to a place in Reno to get fixed while I'm here. Came upon Jays in Google - great reviews so I took a chance and I'm so glad I did. At Jays they explain what they are going to do and how much right up front - no surprises. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Great communication and customer service, a clean office to sit and wait and the best music to listen to while you're waiting. It's hard to find an auto repair shop that you can trust. I will happily recommend them to family and friends that live in the area.

Jay’s Total Car Care – Satisfied customer Oh, Jay’s. The place where my motorcycle gets treated like a VIP—or at least like a distant cousin they don’t totally ignore. Sure, I paid roughly the same as a down payment on a small house, but hey, at least I didn’t have to schlep all the way to Carson or endure the soul-crushing upsell fest at Harley. Worth it? Debatable. Convenient? Absolutely. Jay and the crew were shockingly welcoming—Especially when they realized I wasn’t just another plebe with a car. “Oh, you ride? Cool, cool.” Proceeds to not treat me like a nuisance. A+ for not making me feel like an afterthought. The real star of the show, though? The enormous, majestic shop dog. 10/10, would return just for the pup. Flawless customer service—no notes. Now, was it packed because EVERYONE suddenly remembered riding season exists? Obviously. Did they miss a couple things on my bike? Sure. But after a quick “Uh, hey, about that…” they made it right, which is more than I can say for most places that just ghost you post-service. Final verdict: Slightly pricier than I’d like, but they didn’t set my bike on fire, remembered motorcycles exist, AND let me pet a giant dog. I’ll take it. Four out of five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are a logistics company that makes deliveries across the U.S., and we recently ran into vehicle issue in Sparks, NV when the check engine light came on. We contacted Jay's Total Car Care and spoke with Fen, who was incredibly patient and kind during a very stressful situation. We needed our van repaired ASAP to stay on schedule, and both Fen and Brenden went above and beyond to make that happen. They were helpful, understanding, and extremely patient with us throughout all the chaos. They kept us informed every step of the way—constant updates, clear communication, and a detailed report of the issues. Fen even arranged a car to get us to our hotel, which was one less thing for us to worry about during an already overwhelming day. Fantastic service, great people, and excellent work. Highly recommend Jay's Total Car Care!

BEWARE!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!! BEWARE!!!!! This is absolutely the worst shop I have ever dealt with in all my years. What is even crazier is I was friends with the owner, Jay. This place is unprofessional and they take the best guess approach to fixing vehicles. I have spent over 10k in repairs at this shop and my truck is still is not fixed. They have replaced multiple parts in my front suspension, and those parts fail, so they replace them again because they were cheap parts. They use cheap parts so they can make more profit. I was lied to multiple times on what the issue was with my truck and they would fix things that didn’t need to be fixed. They have had service writers there that would lie to customers about things needing to be repaired that were fine all so they could make more in commission. They even had a tech that was giving fake diagnostics as part of this ploy; this was told me by the owner himself since it happened to me, and I caught them. To this day my suspension still has a knocking in it after I have basically replaced my entire front suspension with this shop twice. The last time I went to pick up my truck after they had it for over a week and still hadn’t fixed it I demanded my truck back. My truck is wrapped, when I picked it up it had multiple scratches all over my wrap in multiple spots, they curb checked my back right 24 inch wheel so bad it had curb rash on the wheel. When I confronted them on this they brought the tech in the office with me, and he had the audacity to tell me it fell over on the shop once he took it off. You can literally see on tire that it hit the curb, just and another lie. The inside of my truck was so dirty it looked like they left it in the desert with the windows down during a wind storm. Once again I was friends with the owner so I thought my truck would get treated a little better and it was treated worse. I addressed all this with the owner, Jay, and provided pictures as proof, and the way he handled it was by firing me as his customer and telling me they just weren’t the right shop for me. Since then I have had to have my back rotors replaced because they were both cracked as a result of someone from the shop driving with my E brake on. These were brand new rotors, and I know for a fact I never did that, I can’t prove that it was them but I would bet a million dollars it was. I have had the ball joints replaced twice within a year by them and now and I just had my truck in with another shop and they told me the left ball joint needs to be replaced again because it was not installed correctly, the bottom bolt was so lose it was able to be spun by hand. So if you want shitty service, you want to be lied to and have parts replaced on your car that never needed to be replaced and you want your vehicle back worse then it was when you dropped it off, and pay out the nose for it all this is your shop. Jays Total Car Care should be out of business and not allowed to touch another vehicle.

I had the best experience at this auto repair shop! The communication was excellent from start to finish. Fen was absolutely amazing — he went above and beyond to accommodate me and made the entire process stress-free. He even helped me get into a rental car for my children while my vehicle was being serviced, which meant so much to me. I felt comfortable, safe, and well taken care of the whole time. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest, caring, and professional service!

I brought my 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 in for a winch bumper and rack/light panels up top on my shell. The service was definitely all about the quality of the install. They suggested best wiring practice for the bumper lights and the four sided (now very lighted)rack. I highly suggest this group for any regular car care, but their custom installation group was awesome if you dont have the tools or knowledge to do these off road installations correctly so they dont fall off or apart on rough terrain:) Thanks to the group who did my install👍👍
