Let's just start off by saying if I could give 0 stars I would. I'm a 22 year old women and this is my first vehicle so it's safe to say I don't know much about vehicles. I brought my car in with a coolant leak and was informed I needed a new radiator. The man gave me a reasonable price and I said yes. I thought I found a good mechanic who I could trust, sadly I was mistaken. I spoke to my grandpa who asked me to check to make sure he was also replacing the theromstat, so I called Joe's and he told me no he wasn't. My grandpa told him he needs to do what any GOOD mechanic would do and replace it. Joe still didn't replace it even after we asked him to. Joe told me the car would be done that night but probably tomorrow morning. I go to a show 45 minutes away and get called at 7pm and told I need to come get my car in an hour or he would leave it on the street in a not so great neiborhood. Luckily my aunt was able to get it and asks him if he replaced the hoses, again he says no but informs her that I need to replace them and the radiator cap soon. My aunt asks why he didn't tell me that and he says he only does what needs to be fixed "now". He is a horrible machanic, I called and asked 4 other machanic their advise and they all said he was terrible and that you should replace all of that when replacing a radiator, which I gladly would have paid for to avoid a problem later on. Also, to top it all off tried to scam me out of $10. Said the inspection would be $15 and labor would be $75 which would be $90 but tried to charge me $100. If you like mechanics who rip you off this is the place to go. Thanks Joe's we will not come again!!

When travelling through California we got a flat tire. In the evening we found Joe's Auto Repair and asked if they could help us. They were just closing but still wanted to help us. It just took him 15 minutes to fix the tire. We are very thankful for the help and for saving a part of our vacation!

These guys are great. They don't stock parts, so you need to bring your own part. They have a cash discount and are a first come first served shop. Have only had excellent service here.

All they did was take my money and waste my time when I could’ve spent that going to a real shop that would’ve fixed my car. I left my car there all day for them to tell me they “weren’t able look at my car” yet still wanted to charge me $75 to take my car back home.

Place is a scam. Poor scheduling with super long wait times only to be told “this car is paying my bills not yours”. They lie and work on others cars while stating your car “is next”…making you wait literally days for a job they said would “take an hour”. Owners son has poor communication skills and produces poor work. This IS NOT the place I grew up taking my car too. They should close ASAP

HONEST HONEST HONEST. This is Bryanna’s husband. I took in our 2016 Corolla because I was 99% certain it was the CV joint on the axle. He charged me an unbeatable diagnosis charge, lowest in ton,, trust me I called about everyone. I told him I was certain it was the axle and I just needed him to confirm. I dropped the car off and when on about my day. Couple hours later he called me to say it was just a piece of plastic! I was honestly skeptical at this point and he caught on to my skepticism and simply replied with “if the noise is still there just bring it back” that’s the response every customer likes to hear!! Lo and behold he was RIGHT!!! The noise is gone and I couldn’t be happier. He could have easily charged me as I was certain it was the axel. Will be taking all my vehicles here going forward!!

I got my car back today & it is running so good now. I had no idea who or where to take my car for repairs. I worried about getting ripped off, being over charged and having poor quality work done to my car. I went online checked out some auto shops near by & read their reviews. I chose Joe's Auto Repair because of it's reviews & I thank God I did. My car is running great. I didn't end up broke fixing my car, they were very polite & very informative about my car. Thank you Joe's Auto Repair. I had a good experience doing business with you.

I heard a lot of bad things from this place n I wanted to try this place out since it was a small business. Turns out I should have listened to the reviews under this because he didn’t even get to my car just took a few parts out and put them back in and called it a day. And on top of all that he still charged me for “his time he worked on my car” when he didn’t even do anything.

In my own experience, I had a very bad experience with the service in this place, I asked José Jr for an estimate, how long it would take to replace an engine and he told me to 1 to 2 weeks, I thought 1 week is fine but 2 is already a long time, And he said, but you just have to look for the engine, and then I looked for it, and ordered and it would arrive there to their address, And then when I called the phone to find out if it had arrived he never answered the phone, so I went in person and he told me it had arrived but now it will take 2 or 3 weeks to replace an engine, then the time already changed from1 to 2 weeks for 2 to 3 weeks to replace the engine, that is already a long time, that day was a Thursday, and I told him I'll leave my car with you so you can start now and he told me not right now till Monday, right now I'm very busy and I have several jobs ahead of me than yours, so I asked in 2 or 3 other places and they told me that estimated time to replace an engine is around 4 to 5 days, so the Saturday before I took my car to him on Monday, I told him that before he started the job I would rather cancel the job, and when I told him that he got angry and yelled at me and tell me that never come back to his place, well one thing I'm sure, I'll never come back to his place again, and he said that he was going to charge me 40 dlls, I told him why if he hadn't taken the car apart yet, and he said that it was because the engine was bothering him and that's the only reason, I think that i have the right to change to a place where they would give me better service and a quote, after all they hadn't stared doing anything with my car yet, i think they're only interested in the money.

Our car was not working and I was afraid of getting ripped off. I had my sister take the car to Joe's based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The mechanic was friendly, honest, and his prices were fair. I would highly recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to be cheated out of their hard earned money.

Great people, great service and honest estimates as well as great car advice. Can’t emphasize enough their honesty! They were fair with the price and worked on my vehicle in a timely manner. This is the only shop I’ll go from now on.

After my radiator developed a large crack, ended up breaking down on a Friday night in Bakersfield. I took my truck here on a Saturday Morning to be told that he could repair it, but didn't have a radiator to give me. I went and got a radiator, and he was able to replace the radiator in less than 3 hours, all on the same day. I was able to get back on the road and arrive at my destination (Malibu) without further issue and arrive that Saturday evening. Highly recommended

Joe's Auto Repair stands out for its rare, almost "stupidly honest" approach, and that's exactly why my girlfriend and I keep returning. Despite some minor concerns, like the lack of a proper waiting room, or when he comes out and takes your credit card and leaves you waiting outside, we love this place because Joe’s integrity shines through. He could have easily overcharged us many times, but he didn’t—and that’s what keeps us loyal. The first time I went to Joe’s, it was because my brakes started making noise. I wasn't familiar with his shop, but it was the closest one, so I gave it a try. The shop itself needs some work, and the lack of a waiting area is a bit frustrating—my girlfriend and I have often had to wait outside in the heat or cold. I’ve considered telling Joe to set up a waiting room, but I’ve held back, hoping he reads this review and makes some improvements. However, despite the inconvenience, Joe made a lasting impression on my first visit. He checked my brakes and gave me an estimate, which was already much lower than the other places I’d been going to for years. But here’s what really impressed me: he gave me the option to buy the parts myself from AutoZone across the street to save money. Most mechanics would have just ordered the parts and charged more. After I brought him the brake pads and rotors, he called me a few hours later to say the car was ready. To my surprise, he told me I didn’t need new rotors yet, saving me even more money. I was expecting to pay around $400 for my breaks and rotors before I drove into Joes, but I drove home with just the cost of brake pads and his fee which was less than $50! Since then, we’ve brought both of our cars to him regularly, and he has consistently saved us hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. His estimates are always reasonable, and many times he charges less than expected. Unlike other places where the final bill is always more than the estimate, Joe’s honesty is a breath of fresh air. Yes, Joe’s shop has some scheduling challenges, and he’s sometimes too busy to take our car in right away, but that’s understandable for a small business. He’s straightforward about what he can and can't do, and delays are part of the reality when you're working with a team that’s hands-on. Joe works on cars alongside his crew, so I understand if there’s a bit of a wait when new customers come in. I’ve read reviews where people complain about scheduling or communication, but it’s important to be realistic. Small business owners like Joe have to juggle a lot, and they can’t be perfect all the time. Despite the waiting room issue, Joe’s work is excellent, his prices are fair, and his honesty is unmatched, and you’ll never feel like you’ve been ripped off. I highly recommend Joe’s Auto Repair—you’ll save a lot of money and be treated with honesty, which is hard to find these days. Hopefully, Joe will consider setting up a proper waiting room to make the experience even better for his customers. I highly recommend him. I would say, don't go anywhere else. Give him a shot first. You will become a loyal customer.
