We were driving tback to cincinnati ohio when our car broke down on I -26 late in the afternoon. We were towed to JP auto. They quickly analyzed the problem and we were back on the road home within 45 minutes. Their kindness and professionalism were a ten out of 10. Thank you!!!

I’ve been there twice for my truck, they are all so very wonderful. I have had work done on my F150 and I haven’t had any issues since. The prices are within reason. If would recommend them to anyone I know. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

They helped troubleshoot an issue with my ABS system and even were able to trace it back to a root cause within my battery that was causing electrical issues so now we can avoid further damage in the future! They gave me estimates of future recommended work as well and we will definitely be using them again!

I can't say enough positive comments about this place. I was traveling through the area and realized that the place that changed my oil the day before didn't put almost any of the screws back on the undercarriage of my vehicle and it was blowing down and scraping on the interstate. Being two hours away from home I pulled in here to see if they could either remove it for me or screw it back on so I could continue on my trip. They got my vehicle pulled into the bay within 5 minutes, and 10 minutes later the job was done. The best part is they didn't even charge me for it, they sent me on my way without paying a penny. I greatly appreciated their customer service and kind heart. If I lived in the area I would definitely be using them for future mechanic work.

I’m not really happy with the service that I received. I called in advance to see if they install customer purchased parts. I was quoted a rate for an hour and 15 minutes. It took less than 20 minutes to place the part, which, by the way did not fix the problem, but was charged for 75 minutes. I asked for an adjustment for just the hour, but was told that was the listed time that it would take. That is incorrect because I was quoted by other shops for one hour of labor. I drove approximately 1 mile away before the check engine light reappeared. When I returned, I was told that I could pay for a diagnostic that could take up to an hour. I had already paid for an hour that was unused, but they were unwilling to assist.

I've had work done on multiple vehicles at JP Automotive and have referred neighbors and coworkers to them for their repair needs many times. But recently I had my wife's vehicle in for part of the scheduled 100,000 mile maintenance. Johnny and his team are skilled and honest. They will get the job done right and they guarantee their work.

Gotta give the team here 5 stars I came with a issue for my wife car got a quote cheaper than we thought it would be. I had my own parts I made a appointment with Amanda dropped the car off round 8am Dec 26, 2025 they was done with car in a few hours they also ran a few test on car to let me know about other issues we need to take care of over time. They did great on the major fix we needed @ the time for a great price so far the repair is top notch we will continue to come to this shop for all our car needs i highly recommend this shop for your car repairs etc

1 Star Review Other than the front desk being courteous, I had a poor experience here, either due to misinformation or incompetence. On 2/25/25, my car started to run hot, so I took it to JP Automotive on 2/27/25. Their diagnostic indicated I needed a radiator replacement, which cost $707.61. A short time later 10/04/25, my car started overheating again. Hoping the issue was covered under warranty, their next finding was a water pump replacement. I was skeptical and frustrated by the new diagnosis. I had a lot going on that day and had to take my mom to the hospital, so I abruptly authorized the $950.48 repair. I later regretted it, as I could’ve used that money for my kids instead. Then just days later 10/08/25, my car overheated again! I had to borrow a family car and pay for transportation until I could get my vehicle back into the shop. Once again, I was hopeful the issue would be covered under warranty. On 10/17/25, they told me a head gasket needed to be replaced. They also mentioned that most mechanics don’t handle head gasket repairs, yet with just two phone calls, one to Barnetts Garage and another to Sim’s Auto, both confirmed they specialize in head gaskets. JP Automotive instead recommended replacing a used engine, which would cost $7,514.52. At that point, I had to decline that recommendation. All that time, money, and energy felt wasted. It seemed like they were just completing jobs to see what sticks. I wish there had been more transparency, meaning if they had mentioned before the repair that, even after fixing the radiator, the car could still overheat within days. If they couldn’t provide that information, it shows a lack of knowledge about proper repairs. Had I known that, I could have made a better decision before spending a significant amount of money. The best I can do now is warn others. I highly advise against taking your vehicle to this business.

We were having a problem with our vehicle not starting. I changed the battery and had the charging system tested at a local parts store. I was told it was a bad alternator. I carried the vehicle to JP Automotive and had them double check, it was the alternator. They replaced the alternator and also did some routine maintenance that was needed. It was done in a timely manner and at a fair price. Everyone was nice and kept me informed, made sure that we understood everything.

They were very respectful and up front about everything. I got another diagnosis for my electric power steering pump and it was over $4,000, they fixed it and I received an oil change for less than $2,000. They communicated with me through the whole process and even went through everything the other auto shop told me I needed and agreed or disagreed with it. I do recommend this shop to anyone and I would go here again.

The receptionist was very patient and helpful, making sure she understood the exact complications with my car so the mechanics could make a precise diagnosis and repair. They were quick to take a look at it. I had a power steering problem, caused by a poorly installed replacement from my old mechanic. After JP Automotive had fixed it, my car now steers smoother than I recall even before my power steering went out. It makes me wonder how I didn’t notice something was off much sooner with the first repair, but at least JP Automotive was able to take my car in and repair it proper!

I had an excellent experience at JP Automotive on E. Blackstock Rd. The staff was incredibly professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. From the moment I walked in, I felt confident that my vehicle was in good hands. They took the time to thoroughly explain the repairs needed and provided a fair and transparent estimate. The work was completed promptly, and my car runs better than ever. I really appreciate their honesty and dedication to quality service. If you're looking for reliable and trustworthy automotive care in Spartanburg, I highly recommend JP Automotive. They truly go above and beyond for their customers!

I have been very displeased with this place. Both times I have picked up my truck, it has still not been fixed. I paid for a service and the issue still isn’t fixed. They didn’t offer to refund my money or fix the problem. All he told me was I could take it somewhere else if I wanted someone else to check it. I felt great about that being that he took the money I had for that repair so now I can’t take it anywhere else right now. I wouldn’t recommend this repair shop. They are super friendly but that doesn’t fix my truck.

Friendly folks. Rescheduled appt went smoothly, part installed well and working smoothly. First appt was disappointing upon discovering,15 min prior to appt, that part to be installed was not in and my day was planned around that installation time. Not ok. Cost was steep in my uneducated opinion. Other family members were paying but I wouldn't have been happy paying $265 ish $$ to splice a wiring harness into existing wiring. On Amazon these wiring harnesses cost less than $30. Job took less than 1 hr. They invited me to leave a review so here ya go.

January 13th 2026. When I had to have my ignition switch replaced so took to JP Automotive and cost $500 to fix but car still wouldn't crank so I was told it was my spark plugs cost almost $600 to replace. Now a 5 weeks later my engine has seized up on my car so I need a new engine. I was told it had nothing to do with the spark plugs they put in but if you ask a mechanic I was told definitely could if the spark plugs were loose or wrong placement. Even Google says the same. I have never had any problems with my engine before this. Only had a battery replaced. Beware of going to this place. Now I'm out $1200 and having to shop for a new car. Smh . No you did not say I had a vacuum leak it's says intake manifold replacement, and you stated it was fine to drive and it would not hurt my car. I had no light on the dashboard so how can it be from a vacuum leak. Which the mainfold had to be removed to replace spark plugs so you probably broke that aw well. I will upload the proof with my bill. It was not months ago since my car had been fixed will prove with following photos

I had such a great experience with JP Automotive. This family-owned shop took excellent care of my car and eased all of my worries with fast and friendly service. Their prices were very reasonable, especially for the brand-new tires I needed. They also fixed my lug nuts and completed all the repairs the same day, which I truly appreciated. It’s rare to find a shop that’s both honest and efficient, but JP Automotive truly delivered. I’m grateful for their professionalism and the genuine care they put into their work. Highly recommend!
