I was extremely anxious about going to a repair shop that wasn’t recommended by anyone. But my towing needs brought my car there. Jimmy was extremely helpful and professional. He not only explained what was wrong with my car but also why. All work and pricing was explained to me prior to any work being done and it was done earlier than I thought possible. Very pleased.. will return when need be and will recommend to others.

Jimmy does solid work and while some mechanics will give you a list of unnecessary work items that can be done, Jimmy breaks down a list of things that need to be done and in what priority. He is generally 40% less expensive than the competition. One personal note: they didn't have power following Hurricane Ida, but Jimmy's team came in, completed working on my car in the daylight to make sure I would have it back for the holiday weekend! What amazing service! And on top of that he was almost half of what competitors estimated for the same job! I bring all my cars here for all mechanical issues!

Mr,, John is the most knowledgeable,,and trusted mechanic around new jersey,, l have 2017 chevy suburban,some other shop told me l need a new headgasket around 4,000$ to 4.400$ and my car needs to be there 3 to 5 days,,, l bring to him check,, he fix it in 2 hours for less than 200$,,, he knows what's he is doing,, thanks Mr John and jimmy,,,

If you’re a woman or anybody for that matter, I would literally tell you to now stop by this place even if your car was on fire. I read the reviews and thought I’d be in good hands but nope! Charged me over $300 to change the starter which was fine expect that literally 2 days later my car was back to how it was. Totally rip off, would never ever go back there and wouldn’t recommend anybody else either.

Amazing Service! I took my car to a local shop and was priced $1400 for new tire, module and sensor and had a feeling I was getting ripped off. I checked out Kars on my way home from work for a second opinion and was pleasantly surprised that I only needed to get a wheel speed sensor for less than $200! The mechanic Jimmy was super helpful and I will definitely be back again if my car needs any work done.

The mechanics of the former High Tech Auto in Bloomfield merged their business with Kars Automotive Repair. They offer the same excellent service, affordable prices, and best of all, complete honesty with their customers. They have always done only repairs that my car genuinely needed and in the least expensive manner possible. For example, instead of forcing me to buy a new exhaust system flex pipe, which had a hole in it, but also contained the catalytic converter, they cut the damaged flex pipe out and welded a new piece in; by doing this, they saved me over $1,000. At Kars Automotive Repair, honesty is not just the best policy, it is also the only policy. I highly recommend Kars Automotive Repair to all car owners, for honest, professional service and great prices. They will fix one's car right and save one money at the same time.

I've been using Kars for the past 4 years and I've been satisfied each time. There have been multiple times I've stopped by without an appointment - - Jimmy is always pleasant & patient and always willing to take the time to answer my questions and offer suggestions if the issue is outside their purview (tires, body work). I did left hub assembly and front breaks. Jimmy was great. I brought him my car at Thursday afternoon, Friday morning everything was done. Mind you, my hub was going under warranty and everything was approved on Thursday afternoon and we all know how warranties are. Also, Jimmy was very honest and prices are affordable. This was my first time taking car to Kars Automotive Repairs and I think I finally found right guy for my car care.

Had my timing belt & water pump change on my vehicle in 2021 by Kars Auto, 2 years later it was making a bad knocking noise, I took it back to Kars, I say to Jimmy, it sound like it's my timing belt, cause it's the same side the noise was coming from, he said NOPE! not to him, He said it sound like my rod bearing that has broke. I ask Jimmy, how long can I ride like this? He said and I quote, "6 months" or longer before engine failure. 2 weeks later after taking it to him, my belt broke, I got stuck on the Garden State Parkway going to work in the rain, Got it towed too (which cost me $224.00, because AAA said they don't come on the Garden State, Parkway) to Honda, which Jimmy said why bring it to them, "Honda" your engine is shot, nothing they can do, but sell you an engine. I told him, damn this is a Honda, he said sometimes thing even happens to a well maintained Honda vehicle. So I was depressed, I thought Honda was going to say I need a new engine like Jimmy said. Nope, it wasn't the rod bearings, it was my timing belt tensioner that broke my timing belt, which Honda said that was the original part in it, so Kars didn't even change my tensioner only the belt. That's one thing I know Jimmy and I, had a good relationship, he didn't do this on purpose. He must of forgot to put the new tensioner on. I had to come out my pocket twice within 2 years . Timing belt are very expensive, over $1300.00. I guess Kars didn't want to do it again, knowing it was the timing belt that needed changing again, and they wasn't getting paid, because someone mess up, they should have change it again, even if we would have went half on it but it's all about the $$$$$ to shops like this.

PLEASE READ! I don't even know where to begin, seriously. Tuesday my check engine light began flashing so I knew whatever the problem was it needed immediate attention. As a young woman, it is very scary navigating the ends and outs of car trouble and repair shops for fear of being taken advantage of. I was sick to my stomach as I could not afford such a huge repair, due to personal life changing circumstances, and having children. I did not have the mental capacity to deal with my vehicle and thankfully was able to make it home. I finally made the call to Kars Wednesday and spoke to Jimmy and explained to him what was going on. He said it sounded like a misfire and to have it towed 1st thing Thursday morning. I did just that. Mind you my mind is racing while at work, I can't focus and have knots in my stomach. Keep in mind, I've never seen him a day in my life and never been to this shop. All communication was done via phone. He kept communication clear and frequent. He addressed me by my name and pronounced it correctly. It's the small things that matter most to me. I knew I possibly needed a tune-up and was quoted $1,000 by one mechanic which was outrages, but I figured I would pay some change based on having an SUV. Well, by Thursday afternoon, Jimmy calls me to tell me my vehicle is ready!!!! Like what?!!!! A coil needed to be replaced. Saving me hundreds of dollars. I'm still in disbelief at what I actually paid and wanted to leave a tip but wasn't allowed to. Lord knows I am thankful for a trustworthy and honest mechanic. I don't live anywhere near East Orange, but honey I will make the trip to Kars for my repairs I can tell that much!!!!!! Thank you Jimmy and team!
