Traveling on a long road trip in July, I took my car to Katz after it developed a loud rattling and shaking while going over bumps. Katz diagnosed loose engine and transmission mounts and quoted $1,040 (more than half of it for labor) to fix them, which I reluctantly agreed to assuming it would resolve the issue. It did not - something which I think Alex was well aware of when he returned the car to me with the comment that "We've done the engine mounts. If there's any other noises, it's just because it's an old car". The rattling noise and vibration remained exactly the same until, a little further down the line a few days later, I took the car to another mechanic who within 15 minutes correctly diagnosed a broken strut mount. He fixed it for $380. Alex also suggested that I should replace brake pads and rotors. I was grateful that I didn't take him up on that because other mechanics - most recently this week, more than one month after Alex looked at my car - subsequently told me they are fine and don't need replacing. Based on my experience, I definitely would not recommend Katz, especially for out-of-town customers passing through Grand Junction.

Not too long ago, I had a fantastic experience at Katz Automotive! The team there is incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely cares about their customers. I can’t say enough good things about this shop. My son’s car broke down while he was away seeing his brother at school, nearly 4 hours from our home. I come from Illinois. Got stranded in Colorado due to a problem with my car. I called here, and they said it wouldn’t be a problem for them to take me in right away. These guys took my car in and got me up and running extremely quick. Service was amazing and welcoming, coming here was truly a blessing among blessings. If you need any service done to your car I highly recommend Katz Automotive since without them I wouldn’t have been able to make it back home. Great people, great service, great price I have 0 complaints as this was definitely the easiest and quickest my car has ever been worked on.

Excellent customer service and excellent service department. Alex was very honest and extremely accommodating. I needed service on a Saturday morning to replace an axle seal on my 3500 Ram after developing an issue on my drive from Denver. Called the family owned business at 730 am. He was able to get me in, diagnose, locate my parts and complete the work in time for me to attend a family reunion all in the same day, at a reasonable price. I won't have to miss work Monday in Denver because he took care of me on Saturday. I highly recommend Katz Automotive.

Words cannot express how grateful and appreciative I am of Katz Automotive. I want to say how amazing Alex and Sarah and the staff were towards me. I was stranded after an incident and they ensured I was taken care of they went above and beyond. They helped me get to my hotel and grocery runs when I didn’t have my car. The staff was welcoming and kind brought humor to cheer up the day. Service was amazing helped me with my brake system that wasn’t working. I definitely recommend this place for any of your car needs. I don’t know what I would have done without Katz Automotive being stranded in a different state for 5 days. With just over 100k miles, my GTC has proven it's dependability and road tripping prowess without so much as a hiccup. Upon returning home from another 2k RT, it got parked for a couple days then nothing. Dead, vehicle unresponsive to the touch. Thanks to a jump from AAA, it started. Drove it over to Katz Auto and left it with Alex, the owner. After 3 days of searching, the electrical parasite killing 2 new batteries remained elusive. When I went to pick up my car, Alex said NO CHARGE ! Katz Auto did not charge me for something they could not fix. Here's a big shout-out for Katz Auto, a family shop that works hard to earn everyone's business. Thanks much to Alex and all the folks at Katz Auto !!!

The are the BEST! Took the car to a shop I've been dealing with for 20 years, with a Major oil leak. They took two days to replace the oil filter, filler cap, and charge me $250. The leak was still there. I took it to Katz and they drove me home. About an hour and a half later they called with the problem. Driveshaft seal was bad. They ordered the parts and scheduled repair after the parts arrived. They had it two days and the repair completed. There are NO LEAKS from the car now! The necessary repair was substantial involving replacing the water pump and timing change, but was completed without delay. They stayed in touch with me throughout and picked me up and dropped me off. They will be getting all my business in the future. THANKS!

Alex and the team at Katz were amazing and so kind. On the last day of our cross-country trip, we discovered an oil leak. They came to our rescue like knights in shining armor. They explained the problem with clarity and kindness, and while they worked on our car, they hosted us like we were family. As two young women it can feel intimidating to feel stranded in a new place, but we felt safe and taken care of the whole time. While we waited in the nice front room, they fed us and frequently checked in to make sure we were doing okay. If I lived in Grand Junction I would only ever go to Katz. They were our favorite people to meet and made an afternoon that could’ve been tiresome and disruptive into a fun memory. Thank you to the whole team for keeping us safe and smiling.

Great shop. I had some car troubles with my Range Rover on an overnight trip I was taking. Unfortunately I got a red fault on my range Rover on a Friday evening. Saturday morning I called over to Katz shop and Alex the owner took great care of me. My Rover wouldn't start at the hotel. He got a tow for me and got the truck right in once we arrived. I ended up needing a new battery and alternator which he was fortunately able to source. Great service throughout the experience. Easily recommend his shop!

This shop is one of a kind. I trust this shop out of ALL the shops in the valley. They are trustworthy, professional, honest, respectful, and caring. I have taken multiple cars to them, and they have explained to me very clear of what was wrong with my vehicle. As a female, I do not believe they tried to take advantage of Me which most shops to do. Not once have I ever had a problem with them. I recommend family friends and anybody in the valley to go to them first. Thank you guys for all you do!
