If you are using or considering a local mechanic shop that starts with an "S" - this is the only honest and knowledgable shop here in Grand Junction. All other local shops that start with an "Sc" have poor service, dishonest ownership, uneducated technicians and managers who do not warranty their work! Simpson Brothers is the only one to use - thanks guys for a great job on my 2002 Ford F150 - you solved my problem in a short time period for a reasonable and honest price!

They do good work, fair pricing, I had my intake manifold gaskets done here, also wanted to see about a burning oil smell coming through the vents, I was told it's the rear main seal, while yes that did have a very small seep, I found it hard to accept that it could be causing the smell, as the fresh air vents are by the windshield, okay no biggie, had them go ahead and do some wiring repair, intake manifold gaskets, and coolant system pressure check. Fast forward still having the same smell of course, I took it in to another reputable shop we use for our fleet vehicles, they said rear main is still seeping, but the smell is coming from the valley cover gasket under the intake as it's leaking, and leaking for a long time according to them as it's pretty caked on there from time. I'm a little dissapointed they didn't let me know over here at Simpsons once they pulled the intake that it was obviously leaking and built up around that valley cover, at least let me know and see if I wanted to take care of that while the intake was off.. So now I will have to redo it myself, or pay for the same job 2x to get the leak resolved. Again they do great work, and I had a good experience, but that kinda bummed me out that it wasn't brought to attention while it was already apart.

I have taken my 1991 Nissan Pathfinder to Simpson Brothers since I moved to Grand Junction in the Fall of 2018. From my first visit to my most recent (November 2023) they've been great at keeping my old ride on the road. They've done everything from a tune up to timing belt replacement on my Pathy, as well as oil changes and many miscellaneous repairs and maintenance items that an old car requires. I've always found them to be friendly, accomodating, convenient, competent, and reasonably priced. I'm so glad I found them. Thanks as always to the whole crew at Simpson Brothers Garage!

Excellent! This was my first experience with this shop. They came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. They resolved my air conditioning issue and the turn around time was exactly what they told me.

I had multiple issues wrong with my Jeep and I didn’t want to pay dealership prices. They were very honest, although the price changed depending on who I talked to after repairs were completed. They did fix my car and I am grateful for their help.

Red Rock Honda claimed I needed $2200.00 worth of mechanical work done. I took it to Simpson Brothers for a second opinion and they reported that work was not needed at all. Besides saving me a lot of money the folks at Simpson Brothers were pleasant to work with and very professional. I will be taking all my cars to Simpson in the future.

These guys know what they’re doing. Fair and honest, highly knowledgeable, courteous and professional in their dealings with customers. Over the past three years since I moved to Grand Junction whenever I have an automotive issue Simpson Brothers has been my go-to mechanic. I have recommended them to others and they have been very satisfied as well. They do not work on foreign cars.

Simpson Brothers garage has always been honest and terrific with customer service. I bought a used car from a dealership and after my 3rd complementary oil change they sent me a service report with pictures stating what was wrong with my car. I am not a mechanic like most of the people that take their vehicles in to get serviced, so the pictures don’t mean much to me. I just know that I didn’t want to pay $2,500 to fix my car if it truly didn’t need it. I took my car to Simpson Brothers Garage for a second opinion after letting them know exactly what the dealership told me. Simpson Brothers Garage could not find anything wrong with my car. They have earned my continued business and loyalty with their honestly and customer service.

So I'm from NY been cross country road tripping the past month. Eventually broke down near this town. I towed my car with AAA to this shop when I broke down in the canyons. When I arrived with the driver everyone was super nice and they did their best to work with me. Again I'm not from here but they went above and beyond and drove me to a hotel to make sure I was safe. They even picked me up in the morning. I'm always a bit hesitant towards shops I'm not familiar with working on my car but these guys didn't try anything on me. Found out it was a small issue was completely honest and transparent the whole time. Great garage great people great service 10/10 thanks for the honesty you just don't get that everywhere when it comes to garages. If I ever break down again out here I know where I'm going. Thoroughly impressed with my treatment. Great people. Great service Thanks! Really helped squash my stress of breaking down across the country

I made an appointment for an oil change plus any other services noticed during the inspection. The oil change and inspection was done in a timely professional manner. The best part was they came back to say your car doesn't need any miscellaneous services. You can trust Simpson Brothers to take care of your needs honestly. I'll be back!!!

Had an issue with my work truck that made it undriveable. I called Simpson Brothers Garage and talked to Ron. After a few minutes Ron explained what he could do to get my truck in and get me back on the road. He was patient and informative. I dropped my truck off and they fixed the issue on time and the estimate I was given was spot on. I really appreciate the level of service these folks provided and it was a quality experience. Thank you Simpson Brother Garage!!

Brought my Explorer in for its first oil change. We had a 1pm appointment but arrived somewhat early. The mechanics were on their lunch break....no problem. We brought coffee and we were out around 1:20. I do believe we will be going there again for any future service for this vehicle. Love the location as it is very convenient for us.

To preface, I am not writing this review to give this business a bad name, but to show the business a customer’s perspective regarding what changes need to be made. I brought my vehicle in for a brake replacement. When I first dropped off my truck, they said it would take until the end of the day to be fixed and that I could pick up my vehicle before closing at 5:30. It was 5 o’clock, and I still hadn’t heard anything about my truck being ready, so I called them to see what the status of my vehicle was. When I talked to them, they said it wouldn’t be ready until very early the next morning. I am not a mechanic, and I know that things come up and timelines can change, but you need to let your customers know ahead of time so they can plan for ride arrangements. They gave me no notice and would not have called me to let me know that I needed to make arrangements for another day without a car. This is extremely unprofessional and is not in the customer’s best interest whatsoever. The next morning, I waited for a phone call to pick up my car because I needed it later in the day, but again they didn’t call with any updates. Originally they told me it would be ready very early in the morning and that they would work on my vehicle first. At about 11:30, I was frustrated again because I had made arrangements to pick up my vehicle sometime in the morning but I still hadn’t received a call. I had to call them again to see what the status was since I knew they wouldn’t be calling me. They let me know that they didn’t know why it was taking so long and could not give me any specifics as to why they hadn’t made any progress. At this point, I didn’t even know if I would be able to get my truck on the second day because no one could tell me anything about my truck (which is worrying for multiple reasons). I had to cancel my ride arrangements multiple times. It was finally ready late that afternoon. When I went in to pay, the front desk guy was standoffish and rude when nicely I asked for an itemized receipt. He acted like I shouldn’t even ask what I am being charged for. The entire experience from start to finish made me feel like a burden even though I was just trying to figure out when my car was ready so I could figure out how to get to work each day. I would like to mention that my brakes were fixed adequately, and I have no issues with the repairs that were done, but the customer service was awful and needs to be fixed or you will continue to lose business. I will not be coming back nor will I recommend this business to anyone because it was an extremely stressful process. If the customer service would have been different, I would have left a very different review.

This shop saved our trip! Car died in the Grand Mesa national forest. All other shops were booked out two weeks but the owner Ron accepted our tow immediately and took care of the problem (a defective battery) within 12 hours—despite having a fully booked schedule. And he personally gave us a ride from our hotel back to the shop. Cannot recommend the shop and the entire staff highly enough!!!

Yesterday I had the day no one wants. While driving on I70 suddenly my car had horrible front end vibration. No loud noises, no loss of steering, no warning. With deciding to have it towed to be safe the next decision was where to. After several phone calls to local mechanics, most were a month + out before they could even look at it. Simpsons was only a week and a half out so thats where i chose. I received a phone call from them later that afternoon informing me by chance they had time to inspect it, and turns out it was going to be a quick easy fix. They also found i had a brake light out. With not much hope of having my car back for atleast 2 weeks I now have it back within 24 hours. The cost i feel was extremely reasonable. Overall, I just can't say enough. For future car needs this will absolutely be the place I go!

I broke down while traveling and was towed to Simpson Bros Garage. The owner Ron got involved and solved a complicated problem by sourcing replacement parts from multiple vendors and putting his team to work on my vehicle to get me back on the road in just a few hours. Ron took the time to carefully explain the problem and what my options were. I was offered a ride so that I could get lunch or go somewhere to wait while they repaired my vehicle. I had no doubt that I was getting a professional job done based on our long conversation about the problem and Ron did a thorough review of other elements indirectly related to the problem so that I could deal with those when I returned home while assuring me that I was safe to travel on. Great experience from A to Z.

December of 2024 I was on a roadtrip from Southern California to Colorado Springs. While on a stop for gas in Grand Junction, my partner put the car in reverse instead of parking, causing my door to get caught on a pole and bend backwards. The door was not able to shut after that and we had no clue what to do. After hours of trying to close the door ourselves, we decided to find an auto shop, and came across this business. Though they were about to close, they very quickly helped us with our issue that had caused us so much stress and worry - free of charge. I would recommend this business to anyone, they really do care about people! Their kindness is something I will never forget.

Simpson Brothers was started decades ago by some local (you guessed it) brothers. They continue to be a leader in auto repair in the Grand Valley. Super knowledgeable, always quick on repairs, very transparent about costs and estimates. They will not try to up charge or sell you a "bill of goods".
