Steve is the most knowledgable mechanic in the Rockford/Loves Park region. He's helped me with brake/rotor replacements and always has the best pricing. When I thought my car needed a timing belt replacement, he had me text him a picture of the engine to confirm if it actually had a timing belt or chain. Not many mechanics would do that. It didn't have a timing belt, so this saved me a lot of money. If you want work done right, call Steve.

I had brought my car not once, but twice only to have my tires balanced. First time was off, second time seemed better but driving home the vibrating came back. I get home I realize some weights fell off while I was driving. Very dissatisfied. Not to mention they torqued my lug nuts to the wrong ft lb both times.

All the people and boxers at L&M r great to work with. I've had my car, my moms and my son's worked on there. I never felt like I was getting ripped off. my son's car was worked on at a GM dealer and was not done right for $275, we brought it to L&M and they did it the right way for $200. I have been using L& M Garage the last few years for two older vehicles. They have always been totally honest in telling me what needed to be repaired and even fixed a couple of small things for no charge. This time I brought my car in for an ongoing problem with power steering pump. The problem was due to poorly made pump caused by supply chain issues and poorly designed engine in my car. The mechanics came up with a creative solution and it has worked perfectly. Their prices are very fair and I feel they are trust worthy. I have reccomended them to friends and family.

This is hands down the best garage in our area, the 3 generations family and team of extremely talented individuals will go the extra mile every time. They take tremendous pride in the work they do and are more than thorough. Extremely satisfied with all the work and pricing for all the work they have done for me. No job too big or small, they can do basic oil changes and tire installation to complex wiring or full engine rebuilds on all makes and models. Love these guys. Can't say enough good things!

L & M Garage was very professional from the 1st phone call down to the time I picked up my vehicle after hours. I had headlight issues that were intermittently giving me problems and then suddenly I had no headlights which was most likely due to a short in one of the bulbs or how it was plugged in the socket. The fee's were reasonable and they didn't run up a bunch of hours but rather fixed the problem with new parts and troubleshooting afterwards. They have a long history of good service and experience. My next visit I will be taking in my 55 Chevy Belair for an annual oil change, and tuning. I am also looking at getting some more leg room thus possibly making the steering column into a tilt rather than the straight one that I currently have which involves working around the three on the tree shifter.. I am happy to recommend them for you automotive mechanic needs.
