The owner of my previous local auto service shop retired and I had to find a new one. My 2016 RAM 1500 developed an annoying parking brake issue that was interfering with the vehicle's warning system and preventing me from using the cruise control - even though the parking brake was not engaged. A Google Maps search turned up L&P and the 4.8 rating got me to take a closer look. I reviewed their website and liked what I saw. I emailed to confirm that they could handle the repair. Within 10 minutes, John replied back to indicate they could do the job. Shortly thereafter, I had an appointment scheduled - all over the convenience of email. When I dropped off my truck the evening before the scheduled appointment, John was very upfront about the "best case / worst case" issues they might find. He listened to my non-technical description of the issue and noted that I seldom used the parking brake. The next morning, John called to tell me what they found and how they could fix the problem with the least amount of effort and no new parts. He also indicated that the rear differential could use some basic maintenance while they had it up on the lift. This WAS NOT a high pressure upsell for something unnecessary - just good expert advice on something that will help keep a nearly 10-year-old truck on the road longer. I gladly gave them the green light to do the additional maintenance. When I picked up my vehicle that afternoon, I met John's son, Eric - the mechanic who did the wrenching on my rig. We had a great conversation - not only about the work performed, but also about their family business. Eric indicated that he previously worked as a mechanic for a large dealership for six years. He related that he basically got tired of the constant upselling of unnecessary work and no commitment to developing long term customer relationships. All of this is exactly why I picked L&P in the first place. On top of all that, the price charged for the repair and service work was less than I was anticipating - all done with the expected level of quality and attention to detail. The bottom line... great local options for automotive service DO exist and L&P is on the top of that list. Vehicle repairs are nearly always a headache. L&P will help you minimize the grief when you need auto service. I will ABSOLUTELY go back to L&P when the need arises.
