I have been buying German cars for 35 plus years and really enjoy performance with added value that they bring to my everyday driving needs. I have recently decided to replace my Mercedes ML320 and saw this great Mercedes CLK 350 on their used lot.I took this car for test drive and I knew that It had to come home with me... period !!!. My wife and I had a very good buying experience from start to finish and I highly recommend this dealership for great deals and service. We were also very impressed with new Jaguar line, while our new car got serviced we had one as a loaner and all I can say is that one awesome automobile....! Walked in to look at purchasing a new Range Rover sport. We were shocked at listening to YOHAN abuse the staff. The verbal abuse here by the manager of Land Rover of Monterey is disgusting. My husband will also be reporting it to the state of California.

We visited your showroom while on vacation and were greeted by Graham Pike. He was very knowledgeable and treated us very well even after we said that we were just there to let our teenage son gawk at the finer vehicles that you have on your lot. Graham showed us around and allowed us to sit in the Range Rover Sport which I fell in love with which may be the car I pursue after we get our son through college. I just wanted to thank him and let you know that we truly appreciate his respectfulness towards us even though we were not purchasing customers. This dealership has a new manager named Yohan …big mistake. This place is a joke now. He not only is known for suing dealerships, he’s also known for abusing the staff which we just witnessed. . We were in last week to look at a vehicle and he was abusing the sales guys so badly that we left. Shame on this dealership. We went up to San Jose and we are very happy and will never be back to this dealership. Yohan is a known bully in the car industry. They even knew how bad he was up in San Jose. He can’t even get a job in the bay area! Horrible dealership here at Sand City Land Rover.

We just listened to Yohan the manager verbally abuse the staff here. We came in to buy a new Land Rover when we heard the commotion. Not only was it completely unprofessional but made being there uncomfortable. We turned around and walked out. I can not and will not give my business to a company that treats their staff in such a manner especially where customers can hear it. Land Rover Monterey has now lost my business and I won't be coming back due to Yohan's behavior.

I just purchased a Certified LR from another dealer out of the area and in less than 10 days the door started smoking. The dealer did not have any loaners (I called first to confirm) and I don’t live in the area so getting there and back was going to be pain. The service manager let me know that Land Rover would tow my car for free under the CPO program and he even gave me the phone number. I called the service center and they had AAA pick up my car within the hour. I called about 3 hours later to confirm the car had arrived and to see if they had any question, only to discover they had already fixed it. The service manager asked if they could run a few more tests the next day just to make sure there were no other issues. They then called the CPO service center for me and had them tow my car back to me for free. I had my car back in <24 hours, delivered to my door, tire pressure checked and freshly washed. This is my first Land Rover and I hesitated buying it for the history of maintenance issues and reputation for poor service. I have to say I am quite impressed with how they handled my situation across the board but also glad I followed my instincts on getting a CPO car with the warranty. Thank you LR Monterey!

I've had very good experiences at this dealership. I purchased my vehicle in San Jose, they were the closest Land Rover dealership at the time. The people here have treated me very well and the service costs more and they do really give more. There's a mechanic that works there named Tuan who has worked on my Rig since 2003. I wouldn’t have left a 5-star review if it wasn’t for the Service department; my experience with the Sales, however, leaves much to be desired. The service that I received from Mr. Matthew Menke and his team was simply outstanding. They went above and beyond to get my car ready as soon as it was humanly possible. Mr. Menke was in touch while the vehicle was being serviced; I was provided a pick-up service from the military base where I work to the dealership; he answered all my questions and concerns in a nice, friendly yet professional manner. Should I need my car to be serviced in the future, I will have no doubts it’s in good and caring hands. On the contrary, my first in-person contact with the official representative of the LRJ Monterey Dealership was not as pleasant at all. When my car broke down on Saturday, December 16th, I had it towed to the LR Monterey via the LR North America Road Assistance app. Upon my arrival in a tow truck at around 4.30 pm that day, the only POC I was able to speak with was a salesperson who introduced himself as Bill. Well, in fact, I had to pull his name out of him while he was talking to me through gritted teeth. Anyone who has ever found themselves in a similar situation – you’re stationed some 1,300 miles away from home, in a new state, with no friends or family around – would understand how confused and lost I was feeling that afternoon. Jaguar/Land Rover is not just a “car make” – it’s a philosophy, a spirit, an iconic brand with a 100-year history which makes every customer feel special, and which gives that sense of belonging to the “family”. My husband, who is British, and I have purchased more than 15 vehicles from this brand, and have been its loyal customers for more than 20 years not only stateside, but also in Europe. The way I was treated by Mr. Bill the Salesman was thousands of light years away from the fundamentals of the LR customer service. Not a single smile or a simple “hello”, not a rudimentary “sit down please and take a breath”… in a nutshell, zero attitude towards an existing client of the service department and a potential client of the sales department. I might be spoiled by the standards of many different LR dealerships I’ve visited throughout the years, but the appearance and the behavior of that gentleman resembled rather a night watchman at some warehouse or a mom-and-pop no-credit-score-required used car shack than a “face” of the Land Rover Jaguar. It goes without saying that I wasn’t offered a ride home from the dealership (which is just 5 miles away from my residential address). The way Bill treated me made me feel like I was a smelly hobo from Del Monte beach. Fortunately, I was lucky to meet Ms. Julia Jenkins, the finance manager, who gave me a lift home and whose sweet personality mended the first impression. This spring my husband is moving to Monterey, and going to replace his 5-liter Range Rover Supercharged; we hope to avoid any further interactions with that salesperson.

I have worked with Land Rover Monterey team (David, Chris & Yohan) to purchase a vehicle and I only have the good things to say about this business. David worked hard to earn my business although we did not agree on terms originally, he labored endlessly until we both got what we wanted. There were no games played and I have all the respect for him. Chris has been the engine to put together all the moving parts on an aggressive schedule, all the while being transparent. Yohan has shown his business acumen and wisdom in moving the business forward along with being welcoming and kind. I think this is the kind of team you want in driving a business forward, that has the stamina and patience.

I bought a CPO Volvo from Jonathan Lucky and Jaguar Land Rover Volvo of Monterey in September. They agreed to deliver the car (I live 1 hour away) once detailed and polished, as this car just arrived lot. They never did and it became pick up only after I paid it. Fine, they agreed to reimbursing the Uber. Then they never reply to my text. Fine, at least they still agreed to sending me the touchup paints as I found more dents and dings when car was picked up. No, nothing was sent. These are not huge deals and not my first time being bushed off. I hope it’s worth as they surely will lose my future business as I know I cannot trust them despite Jonathan kept saying reputation is their key to success. I hope someone who read this finds it helpful and avoids having high hopes for this salesperson and dealership. If at least one avoids dealing with them, they’ll lose much more than what they’ve gain through ignoring me.

This was BY FAR the best car buying experience I’ve had, and I never stepped foot into the dealership! I live over 6 hours away, but David Sanchez made us feel right at home. He went above and beyond to sent me a custom video of the vehicle, its interior, and even idling so I could make an informed decision on the preowned vehicle. Chris Darnell, and Regina Porter made our approval/purchase process quick and easy. They set up a notary to meet me at my home, arranged vehicle delivery (which was extremely reasonable) and did all this for a pre owned buyer with less than perfect credit. We were still treated as though we were buying a brand new Range Rover (which we intend to do in the future, and will be back!) My only regret is not living closer to thank them in person, because if the service was this great over the phone I can only imagine what it would have been face to face. Tried to purchase a vehicle from them, got the numbers and was ready to move forward. Tried to put a deposit down to hold vehicle, which we were told was not an option. Tried contacting Ramon (our initial salesman) and Chris (the sales manager) a total of 9 times over the course of several days, to get the deal done. We received absolutely no response or calls back. Later to find out they did in fact take a deposit after already working with us. Was going to buy a second car from them as well. They clearly don't care about clients, or potential business. I will never refer this dealer, even to my worst enemy. Highly suggest taking your business elsewhere, where they value and respect customers. Should have read some of the other bad reviews about them, I guess you don't expect that when you are planning on spending a lot of money at a Land Rover branded dealership.

This dealership tells you they are honest and care about their reputation. Don't believe it. I purchased a used car from them. They took video and photos from angles that hid damage. They then pointed out two areas of damage, and claimed it was the only damage beyond wear and tear. They lied. When the car arrived it had additional debts and far more rock chips and bumper scrapes than they said. I asked them to split the cost of repairing the damage. They refused, again claiming their photos shield them...even though their photos don't show the extent of the damage and they claimed there wasn't any other than the two they told me about. Hope it was worth it to them. If just one person reads my review and chooses not to buy from them, they've lost far more than the small amount I asked them to split with me. The photos show the additional dents and excess rock chips and scrapes beyond the normal smaller chips for a vehicle that's 6 years old.
