They seem to be very knowledgeable and did a good job replacing my transmission. Took a couple of days longer than quoted. It seemed a bit expensive, but hopefully, it will outlast the stock transmission. All in all, I would recommend and be a repeat customer.

I travel for a living and this is one of the most honest and knowledgeable transmission shops I've ever been to. Great group of guys (and Christine). Highly recommend. *If you use a card to pay, they have to charge you an extra 3% because that's what the cc company charges.

1st trip to Matt's today was a very pleasant experience. The first thing I noticed was the great relationship the team has. The parking lot is packed which tells me they are good at what they do and people calling and getting an appointment to get their vehicle in line (as I had done week before last). The service, a fluid change, was done in a timely fashion and at a fair price. Wife's vehicle is next!

From start to finish, Matt's Transmission made sure we felt comfortable and secure in our decision to use their services. Even after our car was fixed, they reassured us that any issue that might arise would be handled promptly and professionally. They demonstrated their commitment through actions, not just words. I am deeply grateful for their exceptional service and highly recommend Matt's Transmission for a smooth and informed process.

Well, honestly everything went good and the car seems to drive ok. All were nice and everything!!!! HOWEVER, I was VERY upset that I was NOT told that when using your card, they charge 3%. I was not told that from the beginning AT ALL! I even spoke with the receptionist and she knew I was going to the bank to make a deposit so I could them! Well, I could and would of brought cash the next day before they closed to save me $42.11 that I DID NOT have. We spoke and she didn't even apologize for the inconvenience and poor communication on her part! Matt needs to communicate, let ALL customers know when paying with their card, there is a 3% fee. Whether in person or over the phone. Which really makes no since to me charging 3%! REALLY PISSED about this!

I recommend this shop no questions asked. I've lived in Murfreesboro a long time. Fortunately we don't need transmission shops often. I first was recommended to this shop when Phil owned the shop. Maybe around 2005. Phil fixed me up right back then with excellent service and a solid repair at the right price. Ever since then I have recommended this shop and it has been "my shop" for all things transmission. In December of 2023, our transmission went out in my car. Matt's was the first place I called. I was greeted on the telephone by the absolute nicest lady. We got our car in the next day and within 2 days, Joe called me with the bad news that we needed a new trans or complete rebuild. I was able to share with Joe that we had a warranty on the car and Joe took over from there. He handled everything on his end to make sure the the warranty service was handled correctly. I really can't say enough about the way Joe and the team handled this for us. He communicated extremely well with us through the whole process. It took a longer than expected, but Joe kept us assured he was handling everything. We really had an excellent experience and Matt's Transmission is the first "go-to" shop for our family. I'll highly recommend Matt's shop without hesitation to any friend or family. Thank you Joe and team!

Took in my 92 f250 to have the transmission swapped the got it done fast and good with no issues so far. There was some miss communication on they’re side so some work I requested wasn’t done but it was partially refunded as I discovered this after I paid, they also made a temporary repair so the truck could be back up and running, showed me exactly what they did and what I could do to make it permanent

I called Matt's about the issues I was having with my truck. He told me on the phone how to fix the issue, a simple fix, instead of having me bring the truck in and them charging me. I did what he said, truck fixed. I then had them fix the linkage on my truck. They fixed it within the day and for a very reasonable price. I will be going back.

To whom this may concern, Do not, and I repeat. DO NOT hesitate to come here for service. Initially a list was created for nearby auto repair shops. Several on the list recommended Matt’s Transmission. I called, scheduled, dropped off & picked up. Never once, did a sensation of doubt occur. This place brought light to a dark place because I felt like I was out of options. All I can say is Thank You Matt’s Transmission!!!! -99 Yukon

Matt’s transmission is awesome! Thank you so must for fixing my truck and not overcharging for something that didn’t need fixed. Had my truck in at Christian brothers and the told me I needed a new transmission for $12,000! I said not way. Matt looked at it and fixed my issue for $800. I would recommend Matt’s and will only bring my vehicle here for transmission work.

I highly recommend this place for all your transmission needs. I visited two mechanics prior and they both told me I needed a whole new transmission. However, once I brought my car here, they said all I needed was a transmission flush and some friction pads. Low and behold the car runs good as new! I was quoted $5000-$6000 to replace my transmission and ended up spending a little less than $300 to fix my car. I’m very impressed and highly satisfied.

Took my 2010 Silverado to Matt’s for a transmission service and a few bottom end oil leaks. Sam A. was the tech that worked on my truck. He did a great job at communicating what he found with pictures. Everything is sealed up tight and the truck is running a lot better.

Matt's transmission is awesome! They changed my transmission fluid in my Tacoma with ease. They explained in detail a shudder issue I was having at 45 mph and added an additive for it. It did not shudder on way home. They also check out another issue I was experiencing at no charge. I got to see the old fluid (see if it was worn, color or if metal shavings) before filling up with new. So thorough! I love that. It made me comfortable seeing my vehicle be taken care of. The owner, Matt took the time to review my truck with me. Thank you, Matt's Transmission - you and the team are awesome! I would not hesitate in being a vehicle here. Well worth the money! And comfortable knowing my truck is up to date on fluid changes, etc.

The first time. They did an awesome job on my 12 tahoe! Took my 08 flatbed to them, not impressed anymore! He priced it to me at 4200 to 4800 for a mechanical rebuild! Called back and now we're at almost 6800 and that was ok, never know what's up your nose til you start digging. I was man enough to pay them. Get home and I got a leak. They say it's oil, between the motor and transmission. I bought it from a friend and it hasn't leaked in 4 years and wasn't leaking before I carried it over there. Feel like they brushed me off. You trusted me to pay you I trusted you to fix my truck. Now I'm wondering if my warranty good. It's becoming the way of the world

I went to Matt’s transmission last Wednesday. Joe told me that if I just needed a transmission flush it would be $250 so I said ok and he said I would have to leave my car for the night. So while waiting for my friend to come get me he said oh I told you wrong because you have a Ford Edge it needs more expensive stuff and it will be $450. Once again I agreed and the next day when I went to pick up my car it was $567! That’s more than double what he originally quoted. I wouldn’t have agreed to them fixing and would have probably gotten another quote from somewhere else. I honestly think they should do a much better job in quoting what their services will cost. The owner was out of town Joe told me so I waited until the owner was back to call with my complaint and I never heard back from them. They might have done a good job on the flushing but I won’t use or recommend to anyone. Once you quote a price you should stick to it. All I should have paid is the $450 Joe quoted me and there was no explanation from him why it was so much more.

Joe and the staff and owner at Matt's Transmission were fantastic. They were empathetic, understanding, and diligent in the diagnosis of our 2000 Acura RL 3.5, while troubleshooting for a slight roughness while upshifting from 1st to 2nd. After having our vehicle for two days and having a couple different techs and Matt himself, trying to find the source of the issue, they were still unable to come to a conclusion, but did theorize that it could possibly be from a propeller shaft or transfer case (both jobs that their shop isn't equipped to do). In the end, Joe gave me his opinion that he believes the vehicle was still safe to drive for a bit of time, and a referral to an import shop that could do the work. Additionally, they did not charge me any diagnostic fees for being unable to track down the issue...unlike another shop that charged us $175 for an incorrect diagnosis and then tried to upsell a $4,200 + tax used transmission swap, on our Acura that has a fully functional transmission with no issues. This is my one and only experience with Matt's Transmission, however I can confidently say that this shop has represented itself in a highly ethical, caring and professional manner. Thank you, Matt, Joe and staff!

You said y'all were the cheapest place around with transmissions and I just called to get an estimate to rebuild my transmission in a 2012 Dodge caravan and y'all won't even rebuild it. Y'all want to put a new one in it and then you want to charge me almost seven Grand. I don't have that kind of money so that's the reason I gave you a one. You said you're cheap but that's not cheap

I highly recommend Matt’s Transmissions. Not only for the workmanship and quality, but also their proven ability to stand behind their work. For all the negative comments you read, please take into consideration that transmissions are complex, and often collateral damage unforeseen can have occurred, and it’s simply (IMO) impossible to always accurately quote all parts and labor without actually disassembly and inspection. At least that’s my experience as a powertrain and automotive engineer. In the case of my car (notorious troublesome Ford 6F35) we wear quoted for the torque converter and filter. During tear down they found the valve body was damaged (which again I can’t hold a grudge for something you can’t forsee short of x-ray). We picked it up, and within 24 hours noticed a small vibration at park. To me felt like an unbalanced converter hydraulic oscillation “slosh” if that makes sense. I scanned the car and found the TCC slip angle waveform had a lot of signal noise relative to the engine rpm, but I’m not a transmission guy so Jason and Matt talked me through the could/could not be stuff. I know just enough about cars to know they know their stuff. They took the car back, did an inspection and replaced the torque converter. I know this is a shop’s absolute worst nightmare to take a come-back and eat the labor, but it really shows the level of quality and integrity a shop has when it’s willing to do the right thing. The torque converter was installed properly the best they could tell, but even OE parts have questionable quality control these days. After the converter replacement it’s driven flawless with no vibration. Matt’s proved they know their stuff, they stand behind their work, and they make it right to the customer. 5 out of 5 would highly recommend.
