Outside of that the environment of the store was very lively and welcoming. I went to Mavis for a simple alignment that was advertised at $89.99. Instead of just performing the alignment, the employee immediately tried to sell me new tires and told me I couldn’t get the alignment unless I bought them. I had just replaced my tires a couple of months ago, so that made no sense. I was then quoted over $500. When I explained I wasn’t comfortable spending that kind of money since the tires were practically new, he then claimed I needed new rotors and brakes — which were also replaced just a couple of months ago. The reasoning? He said my rotors were “hot.” I had just driven 30 minutes to the shop and the car had only been sitting for about 10 minutes before they brought it into the bay. Of course the rotors were warm — that’s completely normal after driving. It felt like a high-pressure sales tactic rather than an honest assessment. I left Mavis and drove straight to Patton for a second opinion. They got me in and out within an hour, performed the alignment and a tire rotation, and not only told me there was nothing wrong with my tires or brakes — they actually showed me. After the alignment and rotation, everything is solid. I came in to Mavis for an $89.99 alignment and instead was pressured into unnecessary repairs totaling over $500. I’d strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any additional work here.
