First off, Dawn was sweet and knowledgeable. A younger guy was sent out to "diagnose" the open circuit cylinder 5 issue I was having. I'm a diesel mechanic; went to school for it. I told the guy I was, actually. I told him the injectors tested perfect and that I traced the "open" problem back to the ECM (bank 2). I thought he had a bench tester... he said he could find the problem since he had the same software the dealer has. He did anot injector kill test. I'm literally looking at him in disbelief that he's telling me the injectors are bad... but, I let him "show me" what was wrong. He never once used a multimeter. All he did was hook up to the obd port... I'm not kidding. They charged me $100 to "diagnose" the truck improperly! All I asked him to do was bench test the ECM... They then sent me an estimate of $4000! I was correct with my suspicion of the ECM. $600 it cost to repair my ecm vs $4,000... I feel that this was the most blatant form of rip off I've ever dealt with! I even told the guy I was a diesel mechanic and he STILL continued to try to rip me off?!?! I hope all of you try to understand what your problem is before and after you have it "professionally" looked at it! Search online. Look at forums. Just don't let a business that is ripping you off do it so easily. If you can't do the work... research your butt off to find a reputable shop. If I wasn't who i am I would have been had. Can you take $4,000 away from your family to support a thief? P.S: $4,000 is what I would have lost before they actually found the problem..... Maxx Torque... get rid of that thief before he rips you off!

Rob built and installed one tough transmission to put behind my 6.7 Cummins. He put his experience and dedication to good use. I'm happy to be back on the road and ready to tow the race car for the 2015 season.

My brother and I found this awesome place after wasting a bunch of time and money on our work trucks/daily drivers at the other wheat ridge diesel shops on 44th. They have been extremely knowledgeable, honest and helpful keeping our ‘97 12v cummins and ‘04.5 24v cummins running & ready for duty, even giving preemptive advice on the 2019 we just bought. If you have any year cummins, call these folks first!

Maxtorq Diesel is the only place I will take my truck. Rob and Dawn are awesome! Rob is the most knowledgeable individual I have ever met regarding Cummins. If you are experiencing an issue with your truck Rob will take the time to talk with you on the phone and troubleshoot the problem. Unlike other places I've taken my truck to, when you bring your truck in, he will explain any possible issues, their causes and the solutions. Not just tell you somethings broken and it will take $$$$ to fix it. I have lived in Fort Collins, Greeley, Boulder, Westminster, Denver, Craig and now Wright Wyoming. TRUST ME, the drive is worth it! PS. Some of the work he has done on my truck, I'm sure I'll leave something out. EFI Live tuning FASS fuel system FASS fuel line heater Exhaust Fuel Injectors Brakes AC compressor Oil Change In the near future I will have him build a turbo and transmission as well

My truck was acting up horrifically when i took it in. He told me the problem and gave me a $2700 estimate. I price shopped a bit and his price was the best. He had my truck for 4 hours amd said it was done. The trucks run perfect since. Robs a great guy and very knowledgeable about cummins

Have been more than Happy with the work that I have had them do. I don't like not doing work on my truck myself but at times I don't have a good place to work inside. Rob is Great and is very informative. Worked on my 12 valve and have had him look at my new 3500 and do a service on it. Always very fair with no BS

Fantastic knowledge and experience! On a trip down south our 2004 Dodge Ram truck developed some serious injector issues. Rather than just throwing money at new parts, Rob figured out the root cause of the issues, corrected the problem and got everything working as it should. Our truck is now running like it was brand new. Couldn’t be happier! I’d give 10 stars if we could!

Beware of this shop! I’ve posted my experience here and it has been deleted. His rebuild cummins engine didn't last 4k miles and he wrecked my truck while on a test drive after many trips back for warranty issues! Poor workmanship, bad attitude and a loss of $22k has been my experience there! He doesn’t stand behind his work! Anywhere else would be a better choice!

Beware and run away from Rob and MaxTorq Diesel. Part 1: I came to Rob after dealing with a mechanic that said he did a lot of this work to my truck, but didn’t do everything he said he did. I took my truck to Maxtorq with Rob and Dawn. When Rob spoke with this other mechanic on the phone, Rob swore the transmission had not been out of my truck due to the bolt being untouched and all parts in the transmission being stock parts even though the other mechanic gave a list of stuff he had done to the transmission. I paid Rob at Maxtorq Diesel over $9,000 dollars in May of 2024. This cost did not include work that had been done before the transmission rebuild. Two days after I got the truck back from Rob at Maxtorq, I ended up on the side of the road with it overheating. I had only gone 7 miles from my house with a 10,000-pound camper on a truck that can pull over 19,000lbs. I had problem after problem, over and over, overheating to the point where they had to replace a value in the valve body. I was told everything in the transmission was brand-new. On Oct 2nd, I had 2 new codes pop up with less than 10,000 miles on the transmission from Maxtorq and learned that the transmission had failed and needed to be completely rebuilt. Rob made an appointment with me for Oct 21st so I took the truck there the night of the 20th. I went to them on Oct 23rd and found that he had only looked at my truck and said it would be November 18th before he could do the work, but told me I could leave the truck with them and he would try to get to it in on Nov 5th. I found out on the week of the 5th that Rob went hunting for 2 weeks. Something was not setting well with me and I needed my truck as this is a work truck. I had a bad feeling like I did with the first mechanic, so I went and picked the truck up from Maxtorq on Nov 11th and took it to a different shop. When I told Maxtorq that I was coming to get the truck, Dawn sent me a text message saying they were ordering parts and going to build a new one and put it in my truck. I ask why was this not told to me back in Oct when I was being led on for almost 2 months. No reply. The other shop was able to get the work done in 3 days. What the other shop found was that a 2007 to 2018 ram 68RFE transmission pump was put into my truck. My truck is a 2020 and the transmission pump was changed on the 2019 to 2024 trucks. When I spoke to Rob and let him know this, he tried to put this on the other guy that he had sworn didn’t touch my transmission and just took my money. Not only do I have a written statement from the transmission shop that fixed Rob’s work, but I also compared the pump at Larie H Miller Ram with their Transmission tech mechanic. Rob added a separator plate to the pump and handled the pump, but did not in any form take responsibility for his work that destroyed the transmission. I went to Maxtorq to talk to Rob about this issue. Rob took the pump and pump shaft and walked into his shop and threw them across the room. He and Dawn then demanded that all of the parts that came out of my transmission be returned to them. I gave them back all of the other parts that he had put in the transmission for the refund of $7500 dollars. Dawn took the parts back to the back room, dropping the box of parts on the floor and kicking the box repeatedly. During this process, Rob also tried saying that the torque converter core charge was $1800 when it was really only $600 dollars. In order to be completely done with this, I agreed to subtract the $600 from the total that I was asking to be refunded of $7500, taking the total refund down to $6900. Several days later, after they set up the refund, they then cancelled the $6900 refund to my debit card. When I asked about it, Rob stated that they had to refund back to the credit cards I had used for payment. The accounts I used did show amounts pending, but they never went through and each amount on each account has now fallen off of pending status and is no longer showing on my account.

I had the complete exhaust system gone through at Max torque diesel, this service is done every 65-78k, I had the service done in December and we are currently in May, my system has completely shut down again and the exhaust filter is 90% full again, how does this happen in less than 10000 miles, there is no way this job was done properly. I contacted Max torque a week ago and I've not heard back from them yet.

I was grateful to have found a Cummins diesel specialist, just under 5 miles from my house. I own a 2005 Ram 3500 dually as shown (not taken at the Maxtorq Diesel Performance facility). For personal reasons, I am not a trusting type so to gain my trust is to build it. I had a wonderful and honest diesel mechanic shop in Austin, but a new career took me to Denver so I started looking for a reputable diesel repair shop. MaxTorq has gained my trust after several repairs. Mr. Watkins was evidently very knowledgeable and truly skilled in diesel repair. Rather than repairing the diesel engine myself, I always felt that it's best left to the professionals like Mr. Watkins. There was one time where a small plastic part was accidentally damaged during the removal process, the shop replaced it at no extra charge. When I went over to pick it up, Mr. Watkins showed me the replacement part, I wasn't surprised, but very pleased. The other time, I was running late after hours as I left my Downtown office in a rush, he invited me into his fabulous repair shop (made my job seems so boring) where he showed me the old radiator leak. I really liked it that he was willing to show it to me to give me a reassurance that it was worth the repair. An update on 10/12/2024, my truck is still running strong.

Great Service, Had an emergency where my wheel bearing failed as I was 6.5 hours away from home. They got me in right away and replaced it same day. stayed sturdy all the way back home. I appreciate it a lot, It would have been nice to get a call about updates but I understand it must have been busy, would recommend this place and will come back if I ever need anything again in the area.

Buyer Beware. I had my transmission rebuilt here. Rob charged me for new parts and put a mix of used and new parts - different brands, wrong shift kit, torn pistons, old clutches, used torque converter, etc. The truck never ran the same and I had to sell it after paying him $11,800 cash. We settled in Jeff Co county small claims court for the maximum of $7500 October 1, 2025. We could have shook hands for a full refund and no review, but he chose the $7500 settlement route so here it is - a fair warning to the general public.
