For the last 10+ years I have been bringing my car to this location. I have never experienced any issues until recently. April 2024 I took my car in for oil change and brake replacement. I was told by mechanic that I had leaks around my valve cover, my high pressure fuel pump was bad, and I needed coolant reservoir replaced. Mechanic basically told me my car would stop running if I did not get those issues resolved, so I agreed to have the work done. It was on a Thursday around 330 pm when I initially took my car there. I was told the job would take eight hours to complete, and the mechanic said he would start on the repairs first thing Friday morning. I explained to them that I was going out of town and that I would not be back until that Sunday, and because the shop was closed that Sunday, we agreed that I could pick up my car on that Monday. On Friday at about noon I receive a phone call saying that my car was ready for pick up. Well I was already gone out of town and was unable to get my car. I re-iterated that I could pick up my car Monday. A few weeks after picking my car up the engine oil low light came on while I was driving. I immediately drove my car to the shop and they looked at my car and said I had oil leaks. Frustrated, I pulled out my receipt and asked how is that possible when the valve cover gasket was just changed. Upon the mechanic manager checking my car he noticed that the hoses, which were initially supposed to be pressure washed was never done. I was told that in order to check for oil leaks the hoses should have been pressure washed. I was told my car was low on oil. At that point he pressure washed the hoses and filled my car back up with oil. About a week later while driving my car the battery light came on, I was losing power, could not turn the steering wheel or let the windows down. I had to have my car towed back to Meineke because I was unable to drive it. I was told that my alternator was bad and had to be replaced. I have lost all trust in this company and I will never take my car there again, nor will never refer this company to anyone that I know!!!!!!They have lost a loyal customer!

Kevin Kirn posted a video of my vehicle on social media without my consent I'm very disappointed and I will never be a customer here at meineke ever again I can't believe the workers post videos of themselves joking around with other customers vehicles it's very unprofessional and I found out Kevin had been in prison in the past I definitely will not go back or recommend anyone

I switched to this location from Romeoville, not that the Romeoville location was bad or anything. The owner at this Meineke in Joliet, Mr. Reiad is so kind and friendly. The mechanics are very nice and take care of business. I always have a pleasant experience and my BettyWhite Jeep gets treated like a queen! Thanks guys!

Mechanic did a nice job but upset with the owner. He over charged me on the hours the mechanic worked on a tune up. He worked 2 and I was charged for 4 hrs. The owner very unreasonable and I will never take my car back here. Also told me told me 2 mechanics worked on the car which was a lie. There was only one mechanic even the mechanic agreed with me and walked away because he didn't want to get involved.

Went to have my car examined. The white mechanic came and said there was an issue with my transmission and that I should get a transmission flush. I thought that was weird considering I never had any transmission issues. I never got the transmission flush because I knew that wasn’t the problem. AutoZone had already run a diagnostic test. I waited a month and went back and was told that I needed something other than the transmission and it was going to cost over $2,000. Hmmm, It turned out that I never needed a transmission flush. So they lied. Long story short, I went to another mechanic and had the job done for less than $2,000 that Meineke was charging. Recommendation: Always seek a second opinion when dealing with them because they lie and overcharge you if they think you're going to pay Side note: They’ll mess up your car so you’ll come back. The first time my steering wheel was squeaky whenever I turned. The second time my brakes was grinding. Both issues resolved themselves but be very careful with dealing with them.
