I had an appt yesterday but was told by Zach I would have to wait another hour so I went somewhere else for an estimate. Before I had Brakes Plus do the work I called Midas to get a quote on what the parts & labor would be with an alignment & was told by the receptionist they would rather look at it so they’d know what was wrong. I said I know I’m taking a chance that couldn’t be it, but if you could just give me a quote, I would appreciate it. She then said that I have a free alignment in the system so that would deduct off the price but would have Zach call me back with an estimate. Never heard back so I called back a 3rd time the same day & she apologized & got me in for a 1pm alignment the next day. Overnight I had an oil leak so I called the place who fixed it (minus the alignment) & said they’d take a look. So today the other place showed me that the gasket wasn’t changed when the oil was changed. I had an oil leak due to Midas not putting the plug in all the way last time too so now 2 different oil spills in my garage. Zach has been very rude when I came in at 12:45 for my 1 pm appt my car has just been sitting up on the lift & it’s now 1:45. I had been back and forth all over town the last 2 days and very understanding until he said that I was being unreasonable after I asked if they would at least price match brakes plus alignment price bc I would have had it done there had they not told me it was free with the alignment purchase I made 10 months ago (it’s a 12 month warranty deal where you get 2 within a year) she said. Then he said I was being difficult! Wasn’t apologetic whatsoever. I have been so patient and understanding with this being pushed out & he said insinuating something really snotty under his breath that I won’t repeat but poor customer service & very unprofessional. They need to bring the guy back they had when I gave my five star review back! Very disappointed is an understatement. With customer service, value, time management, etc. Oh, & right after I left this review I called my 2 pm appt to let them know what was going on & what I dealt with last time. At this point the room was filled with Customers, Zach then said, “you know what Tali, we’re not doing your alignment!” As he pulled my car around & got out of my car at 2:02 mind you & I said, “You are unreal. To make us wait that long then not even do it.” He said, “ you’re unreal Tali. Do you gossip & talk bad about people in front of your son all the time!? He was referencing me explaining the situation to my friend as to why I had to push out the 2 pm we had set up. Zach just didn’t want all of the customers hearing what happened. What a way for him to put a spin on the whole scenario. Fair warning to all. Hopefully you don’t have the multiple bad experiences I’ve had here.

They started off great. Had my wife take it there for clunk I couldn't locate. Ended up being loose control arm bolt. They tightened it up and didn't want any funds. So I had my wife get a quote for 4 tire balance and alignment (had my own tires) the lady told her $199. I thought sounds good that's a reasonable price. Set up an appointment. Had my wife take it in. Once she was done she sent me the receipt. There was no alignment sheet. I called talked with Zach. He said that wasn't in his notes. I replied who pays 199 for tire balance. They charged me 180. Still who pays 180 for that??? He said well yes we typically charge 160. So how did it go from 199 to 180 to him saying it's typically 160??? They just making up as they go? 25 per tire is typical and that's on high end. He said he needed to talk to the lady that quoted me and would call me right back. That never happened. After first experience I thought awesome I found a good honest shop in this area. Unfortunately that was not the case. Zach said it was His shop and he would make it right. That never happened. Just brushed me off. Clearly honor and integrity are not this shops focus. I highly suggest going to a shop that has those values. They proved they do not.

I went for an oil change and they forgot to replace my oil. They say I have a leak which caused it to leak out but I put in oil myself and it has not leaked out. It has stayed the same everyday I check it. I just wanted them to either comp me an oil change or look to make sure it didn’t cause damage to my engine from their mistake. But they refused to even look at my van to see that I have no leak that could have lost 5 quarts of oil in two days. They say it’s my fault and I didn’t know what I was talking about.

**This is a follow up of my husband's review below. After a phone call from Crystal claiming they would make things right from the previous experience, we made an appointment for Saturday August 2nd @ 9am for a free alignment. A couple minutes after I give Zach the keys, he says "they have a truck from the night before that is currently on the alignment rack but shouldn't take too long." Ok cool, no problem at all, I'm an understanding person. 45 minutes later they're STILL working on the truck and our vehicle is still sitting in the parking lot. I ask Zach how long they're expecting to take because I have groceries scheduled for me to pickup and didn't expect it to take this long. He goes "oh, well you can come back later if you have stuff to do..." Followed with a bunch of excuses as to why it's taking so long. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Not only did I make an appointment for 9am for you all to make it right, but after already wasting an hour of my Saturday you want me come back and/or wait another hour? 2 hours? He already knew I was going to ask for my keys before I even said anything and handed them to me while repeating to let them know when I was coming back. I told him I wasn't. I should have been called BEFORE my appointment to tell me that the alignment rack was occupied and that it wasn't going to happen at the scheduled time OR if you're trying to make things right, you could have just done my alignment and sent me on my way before this truck that you knew wasn't going to be a quick repair. You made a sad attempt to make things right and failed so we will not be back.

Fair pricing, but over exaggeration. Checked my own fluids the day before, and were all within normality. Mechanics claimed empty or nasty fluid and tried to upcharge. Asked simple questions, but got over complicated answers and quite frankly, accusations of ignorance/incompetence. I can tell they mean well, but these shark attacks are not helpful. Follow up: After checking over the things that the mechanics mentioned (spark plugs needing re-gapped among other things), I noticed that this was not the case at all. All of my spark plugs were gapped at 1.02mm, all within the recommended specs for my car. If a customer can find the info online and prove your mechanics wrong, there's issues at hand

I brought my vehicle in with a transmission concern, and traveling from out of town I was thankful to get it in the day after Christmas. That’s where it ended, within an hour they had told me that I had a major upper transmission leak, and that it required a full transmission replacement. I questioned it as the truck was driving normally, it had just a little slip I wanted to get checked. I declined any further action, and took it to a Ford dealer where they told me that nothing was wrong after doing an extensive exam of the transmission. I wanted to add, that because of their diagnosis, at the caution of driving it home with my family, I had to leave the vehicle in Iowa, and rent a car because of their mid-diagnosis. It’s disappointing in this day and age there are businesses that obviously still try to take advantage of situations like this. However, I’m happy to report a month later, no transmission issues at all and the truck is driving normally. Please use caution when trusting this place with a high value diagnosis.

My daughter goes to UNI and called us about an issue she was having with her vehicle.. as parents from 2+hrs away we couldn't just go look at it. SO I called Midas there in Cedar Falls Ia. spoke with Zach & told him our daughter's situation and he told us to have her bring it right in and they'd be happy to take a look. My daughter did just that and Zach assured her upon arrival that she was in good hands... 10mins later if that our daughter called us back and said she was back on the road. Letting us know that the problem had been fixed and explained to her. She was sent on her way free of charge. Needed an exhaust valve replaced. They wanted to charge me $800 total. That was after a “discount” and they wanted to charge me another $150 for a diagnostic test. They said the part was going to be $120 after they “discounted” it and the rest was labor “non negotiable”. I Actually had the intake valve replaced early that year in Phoenix for $300, so I knew I was getting screwed over. Anyways, nobody was there when I walked in and was veryyy sketchy! Definitely don’t go if you’re a girl cause they will take advantage of you, like they tried with me. And based on the other reviews, looks like they have that history. Ended up getting the part for $50 at a store and replaced it myself. Smarter than I look.

absolutely unbelievable. i needed a new transmission (which i got). the same day i got it back, there was no transmission fluid in it and broke down while driving it home. i understand it had to be shipped in but lets be realistic for a second, if it’s being shipped, it probably won’t have any fluid in it. now i’m with out a for longer because they didn’t check to see if there was anything in it before i went to pick it up. they will sadly do jobs they are getting paid for before ones they have to fix their mistakes. adding on to what i said i just found out they have to order a whole new transmission because they didn’t put transmission fluid in it so it messed the whole thing up. i will be contacting you guys about paying my car payment for the car i come the 5th will not have for a month. this business is absolutely ridiculous.

I can’t say enough good things about the Midas repair shop in Cedar Falls, Iowa. As a college kid far from home, having car issues can be really stressful, but they have helped me out multiple times and made the whole experience so easy every single time. They’ve gotten get me in the same day, explain everything super clearly, and never try to overcharge or push unnecessary repairs. The work is done efficiently and I always leave feeling confident and taken care of. The staff is incredibly friendly and understanding. They are truly such a great auto shop to work with. Everyone was amazing and glad I came here when I did because I found out there were a lot of issues and they were able to fix it right away! It’s nice to know that they will make sure all questions are answered and they will show you exactly what is wrong with the vehicle if you want to see it. Which I’m glad I did because the company I took it too before did not tell me that’s very serious thing was going on with my car and the guys as Midas told me right away “hey letting you know, this is going on”. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. SCAM!!!! I WOULD GIVE IT A NEGATIVE 100 STARS. Brought my car in to be fixed. They claim it is the transmission. So paid for transmission. The stupid mechanic that put it in didn't put transmission fluid in it and let us leave with it. Drove 4 miles and ot broke down again. Then they claim the put another transmission and 2 car dealers ran test on it and told them the transmission was bad. So they fixed part of it but when there was till more to fix the backed out. So now car has been sitting and midas has been pretending to fix it for 7 weeks. Now it is at a dealer for me to pay to fix again. Worst customer service. Crystal can't tell the truth to save her life. She is making up the lies as the conversation is going. Every other word um um um. Zach shouldn't be running the show If he doesn't know anything about cars. Every time I tride to get an update it was a different story. Luckily I could talk to the dealership and get the truth. There is technically a warenty on the transmission but they are denying to fix the part the dealership is proving is part of the transmission. Most pathetic place of business. DONT GO THERE EVER!!!!
