I set an appointment to get my wheels aligned. I got in the same day. The young lady on the phone was very pleasant and helpful while scheduling the appointment. She said that the appointment would take a maximum of an hour and my appointment was at 12 PM. I had a 1 pm appointment for work and decided to go a little early so that I could make my work appointment on time. They graciously got me in early for my wheel alignment so that I can make my 1 PM appointment. Customer service was excellent. They could’ve made me wait until 12 PM but they fit me in.

Had such wonderful service here! Everyone was very kind and knowledgeable. They gave me updated along the way and didn’t try to sell or push anything I did not need. They had to replace a wheel barring and accidentally did the wrong one, they ended up replacing 2 of them and didn’t charge me for the second. It took a little while to get done since the part was stuck but they apologized. I was totally fine sitting there and get some reading done so I didn’t care either way. They were so nice to everyone walking in the door. I will 100% go back here for the next service I need.

I received a flat tire going down the interstate. I took it to this Midas location to get it looked at near the end of the day. Manager Tim took the tire to assess the damage. They were not able to fix due to the nature of the damage to the tire. The customer service was great even though I had to take my tire to the dealership to get replaced to use the warranty.

I am attaching the coupon I used for an oil change, highlighting the price advertised, and the included tire change. (Full disclosure, I showed the coupon on my phone to the person at the counter when I brought the car in, but was told that they “don’t need to see that” as she “already included that when I checked you in, so it will be applied when you pay.”) Ok, so I was expecting to pay for a $49.99 oil change with tire rotation. I received neither one. They seem to have changed my oil, but no additional inspection was noted on the receipt, and no tire change. I paid $63.56. A few minutes after I left, I returned to the shop and questioned the price, which they explained away as additional costs for labor, shop, fees, etc. I don’t care how they explain it away and how they reach the number that they did, it is not the price that is advertised, even though they argue that’s the “base” cost before the additional costs. Unfortunately, this has been noted by multiple people online at this and other branches, and seems to be a recurring theme. Ultimately, it’s deceptive advertising. When I asked about the tire rotation, the person at the counter said he had no idea if it was done, and he would check with the mechanic, but he also said that they measure the tread and “if they determine that it’s not needed, then they don’t do it”. Nope. Another case of misleading/false advertising, and I expect to get my tires changed every time I receive an oil change, as that is common practice. Even if they noted “tire rotation extra”, I would be fine with that, but no tire rotation was done. You would think that when their coupon specifically says “tire rotation included”, that a tire rotation is included. Call me crazy. Ultimately, there are any number of places to get an oil change and tire rotation in the Kansas City area, so I would think Midas would be sure to get those things nailed down. From the looks of it, this isn’t the first time this has happened at this location, and I won’t be returning there or to any other Midas. Why would I?

I came in with a transmission cooler hose leak. I informed them that this is what was going on and if they could look at it. They told me to bring it in but then later said they don't do transmission work after I paid to have it towed in. My diagnosis could have been wrong since I'm not a mechanic so I wanted them to look at it since I had a good experience with a different Midas previously. They called me after they looked at it and said it was power steering. I asked them if they were sure and they said yes. I felt uneasy so I called back and asked them to look at the hose I mentioned, they said they were sure it was the power steering injector. After they performed the work, they said I was right and it is the transmission due to the hose detaching. It makes me concerned since I'm not a mechanic and I'm able to diagnose the first time correctly and they were not. If they cannot diagnose a simple hose issue, I wouldn't trust them with much more. Unless, they were just trying to squeeze money out of me. I hate to say that since they seemed nice but the misdiagnosis makes me think one of the two. I then had to get it towed to a transmission place and had to pay a couple hundred dollars extra for work I did not need and two tows.

Poor mechanic labor and attention to detail. I needed an oil leak stopped and an alignment. They were able to fix the oil leak, but I had to go back for a 2nd alignment because they didn't turn the right tie rod enough rotations. Well after I got home I decided to take a look at their work. Below are four pictures. Three of the pictures show the right tie rod boot all smashed, that's the one the technician decided to go ham on, not sure why maybe he was having a bad day, his puppy died or he didn't like my face. Regardless the last photo is what a boot is supposed to look like. Because the mechanic didn't loosen the tie closing the boot before he twisted the tie rod, it's now ripped and dirt and moisture can get into the boot which shortens the life of my inner tie rod. I will not be going back and I will not be sending my friends or family here. This was my own personal experience, obviously they have a good rating so many people have been served well, but that was not my experience unfortunately. If you have a friend or family member good with cars or a mechanic you trust your in good hands otherwise you could end up like me having to redo bad work that I paid someone else to do. I'm contemplating calling Midas corporate or pursuing legal action, but we'll see. It's frustrating.
