The owner is an honest guy. I took my car in because a different mechanic wanted to replace my breaks. The owner actually recommended that I wait 10,000 miles more before replacement. If you live within walking distance of this shop, this shop is a no-brainer. Drop your car off, walk home, relax, and pick up your car when it's finished. Support this local small business!

Second Review January 2018 Left brake was making noise. He said it was just buildup; I must not drive much. He's right! How honest is that! Most places would have replaced the brake! FIRST REVIEW: 2015: At last, a place I can trust close to home! I had a front brake go bad driving home Thanksgiving day and drove with the pad rubbing 75 miles. At 52K miles I assumed I may need quite a bit of work on both front brakes. They had to replace the bad brake pad but said no to the other one. No up-selling of "you should replace both". Back brakes only needed to be machined (I could feel that). Very nice place, nice wait area, clean and no crises selling of what is not needed. Great service too!

This is great autoshop that I really enjoy taking my cars to. The owner is really nice and honest guy that will tell you (often for free) exactly what's wrong with your car, how much it costs, when he can't repair it and you need to take it to the dealer (for imported cars), when all you need is just minor adjustment/tuning, and when not to waste your money. They offer high quality service with the cheapest price in the area and a reliable guarantee. The best of all, the shop's customer waiting area is very clean and comfortable with WiFi and free good quality coffee and large screen HDTV.

After having a string of bad experiences, super long wait times, and a sudden hike in costs at my long time regular mechanic I decided to give Midwest Auto Repair a try and I am so glad I did. Needed my water pump replaced which they did for hundreds less than my regular shop had quoted me, got the work done fast, and haven't had any issues with it since. It's never fun to spend money on fixing and maintaining your vehicle but these guys were AWESOME!!! Most competitive price I found on a transmission fluids flush after making several phone calls to large and small local repair shops. I was floored by how great the price was.With such a low price, I was worried the service might be shoddy, but to my pleasant surprise it was not at all!! The service was awesome too! The gentleman who helped me was pleasant, efficient, and professional. I didn't know it was possible to walk away from an auto-repair establishment with a smile on your face. I'll be here again for any of my repair and maintenance needs.

Their posted hours online and at the location, are wrong. They are supposed to be open until 6pm Saturday; he rudely said no, we close early ar 4pm on Saturdays and for Summer. He refused to do even a diagnostic test, where they just hook up the computer to the plug and let it run codes (takes 1-2 minutes) because it is a Saturday and they do not do diagnostic work on Saturdays. I let him know I already have the codes and it is just a sensor. I asked him if he would be willing to just check the sensor; again, he rudely said no. Neither I, or anyone I know, will go to this place. Tread carefully with them.

After Googling Midwest Auto Repair, I read the only other review of this business and was totally surprised at how negative it was. When I brought my car in yesterday to get it fixed, I asked them about it, because they have given me in the past year nothing but fantastic service. They said that they did not know who wrote the review, because they do not replace windshields!!! Wow. Total lies. I just have to say that these guys are some of the best I have EVER had work on my car. They are nice, gracious, fair, and get thinks fixed super quick! They are the best auto repair guys EVER!! Everyone I have recommended Midwest Auto Repair to agrees with me. You should go here!! I highly recommend them!!

So, no one likes having to pay for unexpected auto repairs, but everyone at Midwest Auto made it much more bearable. Mohamed is excellent at explaining the process and what to expect at each stage from diagnosis to repair. Diagnosis and repair were both done very quickly. I never had to call to check status. Their prices are very competitive and they do excellent work. Highly recommend Midwest Auto and I will definitely return for any other issues.

Had a great experience at Midwest Auto. Needed the fastest brake service possible over a weekend, and they absolutely provided! They only did what was needed, had fair pricing, and the staff is great. Mohamed is the best. Will continue to recommend.
