2014 Honda Civic transmission went out. I called the dealership and a few other shops for prices. Milex was the most responsive, took the time to explain all my options, and was by far the most thorough. Went with a used transmission with the warranty and six months later, no issues and runs great. Great price and they got the work done fast. I highly recommend.

This shop is the best. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places, and the staff is excellent. They work with me so I can get my car in when it's convenient, and it's always ready when promised. They do a great job of noticing issues, telling me upfront the cost to repair, and helping me determine what needs to get fixed now, what can wait, and what I can ignore. I really trust their advice!

Took my 2011 Tahoe to this place assuming I have transmission issues a few weeks ago. They check it out and said I need a rebuilt trans which will cost $3500 to $5000 for them to repair it or drive it til it falls out or sell the truck but that’s the cost for us to fix it and charge me $125. I didn’t think that’s was the proper way to talk to a potential customer. I still have the paperwork they gave me to prove it, stating what’s wrong with the trans. Anyway took it to another place for a second opinion and it turns out my truck needed a tuneup because it was misfiring from 2 bad coils causing it to struggle during acceleration. I will never go back to milex again. He kept saying well the truck has a lot of miles on it. If he didn’t want my business he could’ve just said that.

I have been coming here for about a year now, and I can honestly say this is the best auto shop I have been to. The guys in the front office are very knowledgeable and willing to help. Every time I come in they are quick to help and get me in and out. Jason (the owner) is super friendly and always remembers you when you walk in. Five stars all around!

I work for a company that is near Mr. Transmission. My company took a vehicle there asking for a QUOTE only! My driver told them what he thought may be wrong but said we we're just looking around to get quotes to see what we will fo and mive forward with. He also asked for a QUOTE ONLY for an oil change. We work for a place that all quotes need to be in writing and require approval before moving forward. The associate at Mr. Transmission said this wasn't a problem but there would be wait. He was fine with that and took a seat. Almost 4 hours later they called him up and said he owed $91.00 for the oil change and inspection on the van. He said he never asked for work to be done and they said well it's done. They, Mr transmission then called me and the manager ( who tried his best but was following his orders from the owner) told me what happened and ADMITTED there was a miscommunication and apoligized. I explained that unfortunately we would be able to pay bc the work wasnt approved. He said he would see what he could do and apoligized again for the misunderstand. My driver called a few mins later and told me they refused to release the vehicle to him without payment bc basically too bad, so sad they did the work already again without it even approved or without us asking them to complete it. We had to scamble to come up with a way to figure this out and eventually had to have someone put it on there personal card bc of Mr. Transmissions mistake. My driever also said when he tried to speak to owner he refused to talk to him and wouldn't even come out after saying basically too bad they did the work and it was all a miscommunication. They lost what potentially could've been a couple $1000 in work we needed over $91.00 dollars on a job they did WITHOUT being asked. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Steer clear and look for a buisness that doesn't brush off customers when THEY make mistakes!

I've been doing business with this shop for about a year. This shop is locally owned and has a small shop feel with great results and affordable pricing. It's hard to find shops that care about their customers and don't take advantage. Jason and his team were great for our transmission needs. We had our transmission fixed here a few months back. We had a few issues come up with our car and they were quick to figure out the problem and fix it. They were true to their word and did not charge us for the additional needs for the transmission as it was covered by the warranty agreement we had with them. We dropped off car after confirming on my own diagnosis computer of 2 issues (Intake Air Temp sensor) & (Mass Air Flow sensor). There was another issue with front suspension which we needed diagnosed. Car was dropped-off on 7-3-25. I kept waiting for any communication of a diagnosis. I understood Jim was whom we had left the car with. We had been recommended to try Milex - Crest Hill, with Jason or Jim. It was 2 weeks later when we learned the front suspension was a cracked spring and an EGR valve. We eventually were trying to get a cost, and time-frame to get springs (which had to be ordered thru dealer). It was unclear when the springs would arrive and/or be installed. Then I was informed car dashboard was stating oil change, so I inquired how long to complete? Only answer I ever received was dashboard stated oil change needed. The communication was horrendous. Eventually, we were told vehicle was ready. I was never told if oil change had been done or not done, even after asking, just vehicle is ready. So I stated we would pick up. It was only after we were there to pick up, that Jim stated they had already completed oil change, regardless of whether we had approved or not approved to complete. We were looking for our future reputable auto shop to complete future auto repairs (we have 2 cars, 1 truck). We dropped car off on 7-3-25 & picked up on 8-2-25. Four weeks and terrible communication!! They charged $600 more than what was quoted. An oil change must cost $600. Jim even insinuated I misunderstood!! 🤔 Never use Milex, ...not worth your time or extremely high expenses!!

I’ve been coming here for years, mostly for routine oil changes, and my car has always been well taken care of. Recently, I couldn’t get an appointment when I needed one because the shop was so busy, so I went elsewhere for an oil change. That shop called and told me my car needed over $7,000 in repairs. I immediately called Jason, and he made time to see me that very evening. After looking over my car, it was clear that none of those expensive repairs were actually necessary. Jason even showed me exactly where the supposed “issues” were, and it was obvious they weren’t real problems. He is honest, caring, and trustworthy — qualities that are rare to find. This is truly one of the best shops I’ve ever been to, and I will always trust Jason’s word because I know he won’t try to take advantage of me. As a single mom, that kind of integrity and fairness means the world to me.
