I brought it my 98 Ram 1500 for a new transmission rebuild. I ended up getting a lot more than that. My truck got a new alternator, tension pulley, brakes, shocks, tune-up, oil change. I really like that it’s a one-stop shop and that the owner, Tony, is very hands on and communicative with the customer. As a business owner, I understand the importance of providing a great service and Monterey transmission does just that.

The guys over at Monterey Transmission are the real deal! They build all kind of transmissions from stock to wild drag racing transmission. It was extremely hard to find a reliable shop that would build my 1000hp corvette a transmission capable of holding the power, but the guys at Monterey transmission were able to figure out my prior issues and get me going with all the upgrades needed. Tony and his dad at Monterey Transmission did a great job on my transmission upgrade and axle rebuild. The attention to detail they provided was exactly what I was looking for on my custom truck. They are currently rebuilding my Dana 44 axle with all new parts. I am eagerly waiting to see it finished as the 12 bolt rear end, 700r4 transmission rebuild and transfer case I have received are exceptional. They are very knowledgeable and fairly priced. They did a differential rebuild for a very reasonable price. The people are very friendly and provided great service. I have a 2012 Shelby GT500 and wanted to also replace my differential cover. They were really good about following the correct torque specs for the part I wanted. I would recommended to anyone who values their car and need service done! I had been having troubles with a different shop and this place was able to get me in and do the exact work I wanted with all the Ford OEM parts of my request.

I have not actually had my work done yet, but I received such excellent customer service over the phone that I felt I had enough experience to leave a review for this excellent shop. They offered me the absolute best deal out of every place I've called plus included an offer of improved quality parts on my transmission instead of just a stock rebuild. They are able to do a stage 1 rebuild for a more fair price than any other shop from San Jose to Seaside and everywhere in between. I couldn't even find this good of a deal from online stores and doing the entire job myself. They also offer a much better warranty than any other shop. I will update my post by the 1st week of January when all is said and done, but overall thus far to say I'm impressed is an understatement.

I went on a 4 day vacation to Monterey starting this past Thursday and my clutch on my 2017 hyundai accent went out Thursday night the first day my vacation started. I called Monterey Transmission along with many other Transmission shops early Friday morning before their opening hours and Monterey Transmission were the first ones to call me back. Monterey Transmission had the lowest-priced repair out of all the Transmission shop, I called and got great customer service, when they said they will call back with a quote it was fast within 5 minutes. I was able to have my vehicle towed directly to them and the same day it was back and running great. I highly recommend them for their quality work, great customer service and great prices especially being around the Monterey area.

Had my 6L80e transmission replaced in my 2013 GMC Yukon Denali with their stage 1 build. They reprogrammed it and installed a big oil cooler to help with heat. Heavy duty torque converter as well. Been 5,000 miles since install and I’ve towed my travel trailer and a few vehicles with no problems. Reasonable price and turn around. Replaced my rear main seal while they are at it and a few transfer case seals. Zero leaks. Very happy with it.
