I'm very glad I found Motorsports of Lexington to fix the oil leak on my Audi A4. I live in a rural part of the state where there's no local qualified Audi mechanics, and had no idea who I could trust to do the work and not take advantage or try to sell me repairs I didn't need. The folks at Motorsports of Lexington are old-school professionals in all the best ways. You see the phrase "dedicated to service and excellence" tossed around, but these guys really demonstrate that philosophy. The shop is clean, neat and obviously well-managed. Whenever I called, either the service manager or owner answered the phone themselves - not a receptionist. Both Mike and Curt were very friendly and professional. And Curt was very patient with my endless questions upon pickup. I'll be back for all my maintenance from now on.

Though I had just bought the car in New Hampshire, I used Motorsports of Lexington for a pre-purchase inspection of a 2006 M3 to establish a maintenance baseline. They were very thorough and gave me all the information that I was looking for. The only thing not working was the central lock switch which will be $56 and they recommended I wait for the next oil change. They are very professional and I felt like I was dealing with trusted friends.

I am a lifelong BMW owner and I am constantly amazed at their level of service and professionalism. Currently living in Louisville had the local dealership tell me I needed to have $1500 worth of work done on a vehicle that had shown no issues. Brought my 435 to Motorsports of Lex for a second opinion and not only did they say there wasn't a problem after thoroughly checking it out they didn't want any payment. These guys are top notch technically but your integrity is off the chart and much appreciated! Thank you for years of support and being you!

I had always used Motorsports in the past, but sent my vehicle to local dealership as I knew the battery was dead and was still under 2 year factory warranty. Dealership told me alternator needed replaced for over 1900$ and did not even check the battery. So I had it towed to Motorsports where I knew I could count on thorough, systematic diagnostics and HONESTY. Mike took my 335i in, tested and recharged the battery and it was working at 100% and absolutely did NOT need a new alternator. He also checked the other items the dealer recommended and reassured me that my Bimmer was just fine. I can't thank them enough for their honesty and business ethics. Thank you!

Curt and Shane along with the entire crew are absolute experts in their work and service to the customer. I have had my BMW serviced there on several occasions and always had excellent work, quick service at a very fair price. Once I needed a new transmission, the local BMW dealership wanted too much money to put in a used transmission with 70k miles...crazy. Curt recommended a rebuilt from a group who warranted it for 3 years and unlimited miles. AWESOME WORK!! ALWAYS. Now I have my second BMW and it will always go to MOTORSPORTS OF LEXINGTON...they are very friendly and dependable and are true automotive enthusiast, and that is why they are the best.

Other than here at Motorsports of Lexington you will get waxed on parts and labor. Kurt takes care of you like family. He is always fair on pricing as well as letting you know how your car is. I've never had a negative experience. You can tell these guy's love their job and work above and beyond what's expected. Foreign vehicles are tricky to you and I but to them it's a passionate career. Since I've met Kurt and his crew, I won't take my 328i BMW anywhere else ever again.

I needed the roof hinges on my 335i convertible repaired and I took it to two dealers and one other foreign car repair place. All the estimates was nearly $3000. I had one other place to check and it was Motorsports of Lexington and I figured I was wasting my time, but I went anyway. When they gave me an estimate of $687.00 I was extremely leary and he explained everything they would do to fix it. It took a few weeks to get in and I still almost didn't take it because I was apprehensive about the low price, but I took it. It took them only one day to fix it and made my apprehension even worse when they called and said it was ready. I live out of down and drove up the next day to see what was actually done and see if the price had changed. When I got there, I went to the vehicle and everything looked good. I got in and retracted the roof and it worked perfectly. I couldn't believe it! I went in and paid and told him I would like to speak to the mechanic and he asked if anything was wrong and I said, "No! Everything works perfectly. How much do I owe you and he said the total is $687.00" I was pleasantly surprised and I went back and Corey the mechanic wasn't there at the moment, but I told the other guys to tell him I wanted to thank him personally for fixing my car at the price they me. They said they would. My family owns four foreign cars and I told him that if something ever happens again, I will bring them here. I am still dismayed at the price and the quality of work done. If anyone reading this long review has an issue with their car, I wholeheartedly recommend these folks.

I had never been to Motorsports of Lexington but a friend highly recommended them. The warning light came on in my 2015 BMW X1 stating that my front brake pads needed replaced. I took my car in for what figured to be a $500+ repair. A few hours later I got a call from Mike and he told me I still had plenty of wear life remaining on the pads. In this day when there are so many dishonest people or businesses who will take advantage of a situation to make a buck, what an honest assessment of the issue! Very refreshing to find a business which puts the customer first. When I do need service done I will definitely return to Motorsports of Lexington.

My daughter is going to school at UK and is over 2000 miles from home. When her BMW X3 suddenly had no power steering we had it towed to the BMW dealer in Lexington. They called the next day and advised the power steering rack was out and needed to be replaced. The cost would be $6000. This made no sense to us but after paying them $250 for their evaluation we had it towed to Motorsports of Lexington for a second opinion. Mike called us back after their evaluation and advised it’s was a frayed wire and the repair would be $165. I was shocked the BMW dealership would not have checked for that. Mike and his team saved my daughter from a nightmare and got her back driving that day. This is such an egregious example of what can happen at a dealership but Motorsport of Lexington will always have our business. Competent honest people. Thanks again for saving the day Mike. Dave E.

Don't trust this place. I took my mini Cooper in to have it worked on. They replaced the junction box, fuel pump, cam shaft position sensor, and the spark plugs. This cost me $2100. I drove it home and all kinds of warning lights came on. I called Mike and he said to bring it in the next day to get looked at. My wife started it the next morning and drove it to the gas station next to her work 1 mile down the road from my house... It died pulling up to the pump and then burst into flames. I've contacted the owner and he doesn't seem to want to own up and says I can't prove it. I'm out $2100 I spent at Motorsports and I'm also out $2700 I still owed on the car. They can say it's not their fault all they want but my car didn't burst into flames before I dropped it off with them, and I drove it for a year before they worked on it... This review should tell you alot about this place. The owner won't own up EDIT: a simple Google search will show you their was one recall on my model mini ( a tire and rim recall) all water pump recalls were for 2007-2009. This is a plain and simple lie. Also, I came into the shop one week after this incident and asked if you wanted to go look at the car and told you the exact location. You denied. You simply told me "how bad of a situation this is for ME" the third time I invited you to look at my car, you went to my insurance companies salvage yard and looked at it. Yes my insurance company paid me the blue book value of the car. I wasn't trying to get the entire value of the car from you, just the $2100 I spent with you guys plus what I still owed on the car that my insurance didn't cover. I'm out $4,800 because your shop wouldn't own up.

This place was extremely professional, thorough, and plain and simply nice. They quickly diagnosed and repaired my BMW X5 and gave a fair price without the typical upselling or unnecessary repairs. I first had taken it to another shop who quoted me repairs totally 5 times what I paid here. Mike and his team diagnosed and fixed what the issue and not a guess and money grab the other tried (the other shop told me after me paying $130 diagnostic fee they hadn’t even really checked but based on their experience everything had to be replaced). I would highly recommended MOTORSPORTS of LEXINGTON for your BMW or any car as a fair, honest, and friendly place to take your vehicle! oh almost forgot, they even gave a 10% discount for first timers (which they didn’t have to do knowing I wasn’t from the area and car needed repairs as I was passing through). I live 3 hours away and am willing to drive back should I need other repairs! I appreciated them greatly!! Thanks team for such a great and thorough job!

Made me wait over 2 months. They fixed it but it only lasted one day with same issue. Towed it back had to pay again. Then then it only lasted 1 day again same issue. Not worth it.

Motorsports has done phenomenal work on my vehicles for almost 20 years now; if I can't do it myself, they do and I know it will get done correctly. They are great to work with and I am very grateful for their presence, helping me keep my M3 on the road over the years. If you drive a BMW in Lexington, these guys are who you need to take it to.

Awesome shop with great people! Both of our German cars (BMW X1 & Golf R) are out of warranty and instead of being gouged by the dealerships on servicing I'm taking them to Motorsports of Lexington. Mike is a great guy and doesn't try to upsell you on things you don't need. They're quick, efficient, honest and thorough. What else can you ask for?

Took my son’s car here after they had done work on the vehicle not even 1000 miles prior… had taken it somewhere else first and they said it was a problem covered under the “bandaid” that this company had done for $1700… Mike agreed that the code it was throwing was covered under the warranty. They kept the car for 4 days of us having to call constantly and asking for updates because Mike would say he would call us and never did. Then they couldn’t figure out what the actual problem was so he tried to tell us the whole thing needed to be replaced, which is what should’ve been done to begin with… less than 1000 miles before that they screwed the person who owned the car out of over $1700 bandaid. Offered to replace what they had replaced previously but said if it didn’t work I had to pay them $1700 and if it did work it was covered under warranty… not exactly how a warranty item works!!! Horrible communication, horrible support, horrible diagnostics… and let me also mention they left our vehicle with a system/speakers in it in their side lot UNLOCKED and UNSECURED!!!! I’d find somewhere else to take your vehicle!! We did… taking it to another place in Lexington where they treat you like a person and not a price tag!!!! 100000% do not recommend!!! Oh… and tried to send us an invoice to have to pay for diagnostics (which they said the issue was covered under warranty) and until I pushed back where we approved that then magically that disappeared with a “discount” for that line item but charged us for fuel for them driving it around while they were cluelessly trying to figure out the problem… don’t waste your time!!! Even tried to reach out to Mike afterwards (previous to resorting to post this review) to discuss how unsatisfactory their work was and he couldn’t even muster up a response… pathetic!!

I went to these guys and spoke with Mike. They did a PPI for a purchase I was looking to make. They were incredibly efficient, very responsive and thorough. I would highly highly recommend them if you needed any type of inspection done on a car before purchasing. They saved me from a huge headache and stopped me from buying a car that would have been extremely disappointing.

Wish I had found these guys sooner!! I spent years dealing with an unreliable mechanic before this on a former Volvo. When I went to purchase a new car, I brought it by Motorsports of Lexington and the team did a thorough pre-purchase inspection on it and estimated what repairs would be needed. They gave me a detailed report with photos and I used it to negotiate the purchase price. After purchasing the car I’ve brought my vehicle to them and am thoroughly impressed by their responsiveness, integrity, and ease to work with. They have saved me thousands of dollars and make vehicle maintenance a relief instead of a headache. And FWIW… when I was originally researching a new mechanic, I actually called the wrong business at first because there is another company in Lexington that was formerly named Lexington Motorsports and it has since rebranded to United Motorsports (or something like that?) in Hamburg, which sells vehicles and has warranties and all of that. Some of the google reviews on here are likely tied to the wrong business because motorsports of Lexington does not sell vehicles or warranties… they just do repair work, and they do a great job with it.
