Per the recommendation of a fellow racer, I took my 2.3 Ford SOHC head to Noland's for porting and polishing, a valve job, and to mill the head for increased compression. Due to the aftermarket cam I was using, the valve stems had to stick up higher than stock so I was concerned that they would follow my instructions to the letter. Previously, I had been burned by two other machine shops that didn't understand the rocker geometry, hence my concern. When I got the head back it looked amazing and based on the various measurements they wrote on the head, I had a strong suspicion that they did as I asked. Once the head was on the engine, I checked valve lift on all 8 valves and it was dead solid perfect. Got the engine running to break it in and it runs perfectly. I cannot recommend this company enough.

I took a Subaru head in that had multiple cracks in it and would have been considered junk by many. Nolands did a great job getting it welded and back to usable condition for a fraction of the price of a replacement. They go above and beyond to fix it right. Very reasonable turn around time and price. If you need cylinder head work done you'll be hard pressed to find a better machine shop anywhere.

Someone recommended this shop to me for cylinder head work maybe 15 years ago, and from that very first experience, and every one there after, I will not use anyone else for head work. I have had heads for at least 7 or 8 different engines worked on by Noland's over the years. Everything from a simple crack check to complete rework with bigger valves, machining for more lift, and so on. I have never had an issue with their work, attention to detail, or customer service, and the price is always fair. If you need cylinder head work done within the Kansas City region, I highly recommend these guys. (please help keep a good automotive machine shop in business as they are getting VERY hard to come by in this age of crate engines.)

If you need any cylinder head work for an engine, you're silly to go anywhere but Noland's. These guys do great work every single time. I've personally been using these guys for the last twenty years and they have continued to deliver absolutely nothing short of perfection. Hands down. Yeah, they're busy. Yeah, it'll take a while to get your heads back. Do you want it done right, or do you want it done NOW? Take their backlog for what it is... An indication of quality workmanship. If they didn't do the best job possible, they wouldn't still be in business.

Had them do my head on my first build that wasn't a pre 70s chevy 350. Bmw s52 e36 had Brad build it for boost. He went above and beyond in every single aspect and was extremely patient with my extensive questions. My m3 is back on the road with zero issues! They even took time out of their day to help me figure out a timing chain rattle that was 100 percent my fault. Just great guys that clearly love what they do!

Good Honest place. Took some heads in for my Chevy Silverado. Unfortunately they weren't able to be reconditioned due to them being cracked in multiple places. But they were able to find me a Good Used set of heads and reconditioned them for me quick. Truck is back on the road and running better than ever.
