Let me make this clear the mechanics are great but oscar gonzales its a thief a liar and a fake bodyshop and car painter . he he is a mickey mouse specialist. The place its dirty the painting its full of dust and it will fall off in a week he has no license all the rapairs are bad and he charge like a license painter and dont even have a booth the cars he selling are all salvage from copart wich you can buy your self for 300 not 3000 so beware of this guy and his mickey mouse shop

PLEASE BEWARE!!! Terrible service. They Quoted me on two separate things and only fixed one of them, because he wasn't able to fix the other issue. The mechanic also told me he checked my transmission fluids and said they were all good.... When I checked it there was NONE at all. Please beware of these con artists! Spend your money elsewhere.

FIVE STARS—ALL OF THE WAY! Here’s why: (2007 GMC YUKON DENALI) I am, by far, a “Main stream” Consumer (i.e. GMC, Ford, Nissan etc. Authorized Dealers). Blame it on tactful marketing and main stream ads on television telling me where to shop. So, naturally I went to a local GMC Authorized Dealer in town (Oakland, CA) and was told I had a left motor mount broken and it needed attention—the cost of service alone was $175.00 an hour—this would be at minimum a 3hr job (when I looked up the GMC authorized time for this repair it was only a total of 2hrs—the dealership service department was trying to pull a fast one). The part of course is only about $90. With the shock of the per hour service charge I quickly started looking around at local off of mainstream service departments and found OAKLAND AUTO TECH. Afer reading some reviews I decided to take a chance. I could NOT be any happier! At first site of the building you don’t know what to think—but hope for the best, but this place WOWED me. Frank and his staff were very polite and courteous, Frank himself went above and beyond explaining to me what was going to be done—and what to expect. This of course after he took me towards my truck and verified that the GMC Authorized Dealer diagnosis was correct and I did need a left motor mount replaced. The part that stuck with me the most was that he took his time and explained to me—step by step— what he was going to be doing with my vehicle, this gave me a better understanding and comfort on where my money was going. The overall experience was great! PLEASE GIVE THIS GREAT BUSINESS—YOUR BUSINESS, IT DESERVES IT!!

I go to this shop for most things small and large. Service has always been fast, professional and honest, frequently with Frank talking down the need for this or that expensive repair. I often end up with a smaller bill - not always, but frequently enough, than expected.

I heard they had great service but I did not experience it. I took my mini van the 4 years ago because I was having transmission problems and when I got my vehicle back one of my sliding doors wouldn't open anymore they had my vehicle for two days. Fast forward to this year I called for a tune up on my newer vehicle and I was told we are too busy but we will call u back to schedule an appointment that was a month ago. Yep won't refer anyone here at all, it's all on the shop.

This place is awesome. I deal with a lot of mechanics in the Oakland area, but this shop is my fav!!! The owner there is very knowledgeable in what he does. Takes the time to show and explain it to you. Shows you your old parts so you know they are not trying to say something was wrong when it was not. Great customer service with the hole staff. Even candies in the office.. :) I appreciate their work and not overcharging because they see a woman drive up in a fancy car... I have had a good working relationship with them for years now and would recommend to anybody looking for a mechanic. I take my high end and low in vehicles there and have not questioned my decision since.

Don’t work with them. These guys ripped me off— I took the car in for suspension replacement. He (Miguel) said a lot of things were wrong with the car that weren’t. Since he was a friend of a friend, we trusted him. We spent over $1000 on parts and labor. However, the fix only lasted for a week until the problem came back. When we took it to him, he said that it was our fault. After taking the car to two other shops in Oakland, they informed us that the parts were fake. We went back to him but he denied everything and we had to spend even more money fixing it at a different shop. In addition, I had to come back on three different occasions to have the car fixed. The first time, he said it would only take two hours. I went to sit at a coffee shop in the meantime. However, when I got back, the car wasn’t even started on and the mechanics were sitting around on their phones. He said we needed to come back on a different day. Next time, same thing— he said that they were too busy to accommodate me even though I made an appointment ahead of time. Finally, the third time, he "fixed" it, but I had to wait there the whole time to make sure he was actually working on the car. Do NOT go to this shop. They are untrustworthy and will scam you.

Setup an appointment to have a few parts upgraded. He quoted the time and price, set it up, then went to drop the vehicle off and he calls up to let me know he’s really busy, has a big project and it’s going to be months if I’m interested. Swapping out an oil pan and turbo inlet for new Banks parts on a new vehicle for performance upgrades sounds pretty simple, I’d be concerned if you actually had something broken.

Frank is really great! He always calls me to let me know his diagnosis before he fixes anything, and shows me the old worn out parts once hes replaced them. He's worked on multiple vehicles for me and always charges a fair price and completes the work in a reasonable amount of time. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!
