I was interested in a used car that Ocean Honda in Ventura was selling. I drove about 40 miles there to see the car. It was a nice car and what I was looking for. The advertised price also seemed fair. However when the actual price was presented, several thousand dollars were added for items they had installed and I had no interest in. Things like a gps tracking and system for theft deterrence and data sharing, paint protection, locking wheels, some sort of door edge guards, window tint. Not only do I not want to pay for this kind of thing I don't even want it installed on a car I'm buying--even if it were free. The worst part is having to sit through the hard sell for this stuff by the salesperson even though you've told them upfront you're not interested in any extras. Clearly, Ocean Honda is doing this to sneak in some extra profit on every used car they sell. It feels like a shady tactic from the old days to me. And it's incredibly annoying. I walked out and found a dealer that had more respect for their customers.

We were very happy with our experience of buying a new CRV-hybrid from Ocean Honda. Janeth was superb from start to finish in helping us select a vehicle. Had an oil change service this morning 10/24/2025 for my wifes honda civic 2018 for $89.37. After service they said they did a multipoint inspection and recommended to replace the tires(no price) brake fluid flush $180, transmission service $260, tire alignment $130. They also recommended to replace the engine filter $60 and cabin filter $100 which I just replaced last month and they are still clean(means they lied they did not inspect it). As you can see it is ridiculously overpriced. So I decided to just find somewhere cheaper. Before they handed me back my key they had me sign a pink paper which states the time the service started and the time they completed the oil change and it is only 59 minutes! Yey good job. Its is the shortest time I ever waited for an oil change from Ocean Honda for over 20 years...i I left and on a mission to find good price tires so my wife can drive safely to her work at Goleta. I end up in california tires which unfortunately does not have complete set of tires. I went to pepboys oxnard and found a good price tires and decided to get the set. Out of curiosity I ask for the price for brake fluid service and transmission service and they qouted me a really good price so i decided to get it done also. Pepboys did the brake fluid and as soon they started working on the transmission service , the mechanic saw something, the transmission fill port is open and the cap/plug was sitting right next to it and there are fluid around that area. They immediately called me and showed me and refused to do the transmission service. I mentioned that I just had an oil change earlier and im sure honda forgot to reinstall the cap since they did the inspection. Pepboys mechanic told me that it is not safe to drive and I should call Ocean honda to tow the car which I did. Ocean honda immediately responded and got my car towed back... honda inspected it and the manager told me that they will not cover the transmission service and it is safe to drive. He came up with a lame technical excuse which doesnt really matter. He did not even admitted that they screwed up and left that cap / plug uninstalled. Didnt even apologize instead he bragged that they already paid for towing the car which I told them that you should... we argued for a bit and its not going anywhere. That manager is so arrogant and its just waste of my time talking to him.. they reinstalled the plug and cleaned around that area and gave my car back... I took off and promise to not come back to Ocean honda again for any car service.. please beware this is NOT the first time they screwed me over but I kept giving them chances. I highly suggested to avoid getting service from Ocean Honda..

Of course they were very happy to sell me my car, and the car is great, however trying to get my second key has taken over 2 weeks because they “can’t find it”. Also dealing with the resetting the anti-theft device so I am able to register it under my name is a lot of, oh the sales floor does that, no finance does that. It shouldn’t take 2 weeks to reset something that they should have never given another person access to in the first place. Love my car, not happy with the customer service so far

What a great first new car buying experience for my daughter! My daughter recently bought a used car from a friend that had multiple issues so we brought it to Ocean Honda to see what it would cost to fix. We spoke to our service advisor Katie who was super friendly and helpful. Katie was able to give us our options and after she answered our questions and we expressed wanting to look at a new car she put us in touch with Brian. Brian was awesome! He heard what we wanted as far as reliability/cost and we were able to get my daughter a brand new Honda Civic! Now I don’t have to worry about my daughter breaking down on the side of the road and is in something reliable that will last her for decades.
