Date of Service: May 28, 2025 Location: Oil Changers – Ventura, CA I’ve been a loyal customer of Oil Changers for years—this location has been my go-to for oil changes, and I’ve even recommended them to friends and family. That’s why I’m so disappointed and frustrated by what happened during my most recent visit. After what was supposed to be a routine oil change, a technician abruptly told me I needed to take my car immediately across the parking lot to Hays Automotive. He showed me a video that allegedly showed a cracked oil pan with oil leaking from the drain plug and told me not to drive it anywhere else. When I asked how much oil was in the car before the change, the tech shrugged and admitted he hadn’t even checked. The whole thing felt off. I had no issues with oil leaks before this visit, and being casually told “we send all our customers there when there’s issues” only raised more red flags. I decided to take my car home and have it inspected by a mechanic I trust. The next morning, I woke up to a large pool of oil under my car. I had it towed to Top Shop, where they confirmed the oil pan was severely cracked—with photo evidence—and they kept the car until it was repaired on June 2. When I called the Ventura location on June 2, I was told a regional manager would contact me. I got a call the next day from someone named Eric, who was shockingly dismissive and unprofessional. He claimed the damage wasn’t their fault, yet offered to refund the $41.12 for the oil change (a refund I still haven’t received). He also admitted their techs shouldn’t have worked on the car if they had noticed a crack—implying the damage occurred during the service. To make matters worse, the receipt falsely claims I declined several services (cabin filter, light check, windshield wash, etc.) that were never even offered. After digging through other Yelp reviews, I found multiple similar complaints about this company. This doesn't seem like an isolated incident. The repair for the oil pan cost me $926.02 and I have since contacted their customer service who returned my calls days later after multiple voicemails and provided me with an email to begin a claim. After sending my case to them June 5th I have still received no response and have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Bottom line: I expected much better from a place I’ve trusted for years. Instead, I got poor service, questionable practices, and a broken car. I’ll never return—and I’d strongly advise others not to either.

I had a really great experience at Oil Changers in Ventura. Kevin, Chris, Manny, and Gage took great care of me and made the whole process super easy. I loved that I could stay in my car and be in and out so quickly without an appointment. My boyfriend went to this location to get his oil changed and a few days later we noticed a puddle of oil on the carport floor where he parks. We took it back to this location and told them the issue. The guy that checked the car said it was most likely the oil gasket that needed to be replaced because the oil pan was fine. When we ended up checking it out it turns out the oil filter was loose. I don't understand why the technician didn't check the oil filter when we took it there a 2nd time complaining of an oil spill. My boyfriend has been going to them for years without issues, but this mishap certainly makes me a little apprehensive of the service they provide.

I was so impressed with Oil Changers. They actually went above and beyond for me. First time visiting, my usual spot was closed for a remodel. Glad I went, great shop, guys were on top of it. One person ahead of me and I was in and out in about 25 minutes even with the wait. Shop was clean and the guys were sharp. They even remembered to reset the oil change setting on my truck. Price was less than I usually pay as well. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend.

We rarely drive our Subaru. We last changed the oil in 2024. Although we were 1500 miles short of the next recommended change, we decided to bring it in for a check. The technician recommended we change it after another 1,000 miles because it was still full and the oil was clean. I like coming to get my oil changed. I stay seated in the car and I can see and hear what they are doing. Thy checked the air in my tires, checked the fluids and added what was needed without me asking them to do it. I’ve used them for my last three vehicles. They ate helpful gentleman with courteous manners as well as a little sense of humor. it is evident that they enjoy what they’re doing and have pride in their job. I consider them excellent in their field and Customer Service. I will recommend others to go there, and I will keep coming back as well. You don’t need to have an appointment. They are happy to see you drive up when you get there. Very professional business and price is reasonable. It’s nice when a business has trustworthy employees consistently over the years it’s consistent, it means a lot to me.

I am feeling so mad about what happened recently. I usually take my car to Walmart for oil changes and I have had no problems with their work nor with their prices, but since Walmart started adopting the appointment system, I decided to try another location. My husband took the car to the oil changers and I was actually confident that they were going to do a great job since they charge almost twice of what I pay at Walmart. But since the first day of taking it I noticed a bad smell coming from my car and I was super surprised because this hadn’t happened before. Then I started noticing first drops of oil. Then one morning a saw a puddle of oil. This just made me go through the reviews of the oil changers and I found out that some people have complained about something similar happening to them. This is just unbelievable since I paid for a good service and this is what I get. I hope they didn’t ruin my car and I end up paying for an expensive repair.
