Great place to get work done on your jeep. Mine had issues, lots of them. They took care of them all in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. Great work, fair price, and honest people. Nuff said.

Great guys! Doug squeezed me in last minute to inspect a used Land Rover I was considering purchasing. They then did a very thorough inspection which played a big part in my final decision whether to purchase or not. They saved me a lot of time and money. Thank you!

Recently had my LR4 serviced there for my 90K (reasonably priced) and look at my control arms which needed to be replaced. They called my warranty company to confirm coverage and processed the claim on my behalf. I wasn't aware they went above and beyond that I did not need to do anything more. Extremely great unexpected customer service.

Took my Jeep on to diagnose an error code. Error code was related to my transmission. My Jeep was here for 4 days. I was told the issue was caused by the button to deactivate overdrive was stuck. Charged me $500 to clean my stuck overdrive button. Did not resolve the issue. I don’t recommend their service.

I took my (very old) Jeep here for some repair work; when it gets hot, my Jeep hesitates and stutters awfully, and sometimes straight up dies. The whole time my Jeep was with them, they walked me through what was going on and always kept me updated - which I was grateful for. Unfortunately, the first fix did not solve the problem, which is upsetting with any vehicle (spending money, problem still exists - though my Jeep is old, and probably has a ton more issues). However, Overland did everything they could to diagnose the issue, and did let me know what they believe was causing the problems. I ultimately opted not to do the following repair to fix the issue (not worth the cost), however, when I went to pick up the vehicle, they walked me through everything they had done to it, and discussed the issues I was having with me thoroughly. As a customer, I really can't ask for more than that. I'm overall really impressed with Overland, and plan on continuing to bring my vehicles here for service.

I brought in my Range Rover Classic for an engine rattle, a HVAC fan that wouldn't blow on medium, and an ABS light on the dash. Overland diagnosed "the entire exhaust system" as the source of the rattle, the heater resistor as the fan fault, and a faulty ABS sensor. They claimed to be unable to find any of the parts to fix the vehicle and charged $330. Mind you, they fixed none of the above. Having owned 50+ collector cars, including 3 Range Rovers, I've used dozens of mechanics over the years, but never encountered a mechanic who wouldn't attempt a repair or give more thorough documentation of a diagnosis (i.e., "here's the part # you need" or "this is what we found with the borescope").

Purchased a vehicle here in Dec 2020, loved the car. Had troubles with a warranty issue and the staff was condescending along with no action to remediate. After finally getting the issue resolved more than twice as long as promised, I traded in for a Mercedes and a dealership that understands the premium car buying experience and service. Too many premium brands and dealers in the area to play these types of games.

I took my lifted, customized Jeep to 3 other mechanics and no one could figure out why it was driving bad until I brought it to Overland 4x4. John, Doug and everyone on that team figured it out fast, fixed extra things no mechanic caught before, and at a fair price. They stayed in constant communication and are very knowledgeable. The best mechanics in the DMV.

Scheduled an appointment with Overland about two weeks out to isolate a rattle in the area of my tension pulleys. Came in today for my appointment and told John (owner) and Ty (mechanic) what I was hearing, including some bearing noise when I turned my A/C on. Ty quickly identified an issue with the tension arm and also found a problem with the pulley wheel on the A/C compressor. John found the tension arm locally and Ty quickly fixed it. The compressor part was harder to find and is on order, and will be installed when it comes in. I was concerned about any problems I might have driving it as is, but John and Ty both explained that for a short time, it would be fine and likely nothing to worry too much about. The thing I like about this business is the people take the time to explain everything thoroughly, they're honest, and they provide quality work at a good price. Everyone at Overland just does their job, does it well, and is respectful of me, my vehicle and my time. Great shop and great people. They're excellent in every way. Thanks John, Ty and Chris. Really appreciate you guys!

I took my 2013 HSE Sport with P0442 code and they replaced The Carbon Canister and Intake Manifold gasket and PCV valve kit after a $186 diagnostics and $2600 for parts and labor. And it did not fix the problem and they told me that the bigger problem is fixed and removed the code . When I got back home the issue came back and they asked me to bring the car. I took the car back and they said it may be the fuel pump gasket and it will cost you $1000 to fix it . I took it to another shop and they diagnosed that it’s a purge valve solenoid being bad that’s throwing the cope p0442 . Now it tells me That these guys just replaced the parts not knowing the bottom line root cause.

This is an awesome team of professionals dedicated to their craft. They’ve installed my RTT as well as my 270 awning on my rig. We ran into some configuration issues, and they took it upon themselves to locate compatible brackets and helped me complete the install.

Overland tracked down a root problem that was causing error codes in many systems, nailing it the first try. So many warning lights were on the dash looked like a Christmas tree, but the team at OVERLAND fixed many error codes with one repair. Also took the time to take care of a nuisance exhaust leak so our truck is quieter, has more power, and doesn’t appear ready for a junk yard. Definitely recommend taking your vehicle to the people who know how to fix complex issues and will care enough to do it properly.

Charged me over $2100 to install a lift kit Upper control arms and tires. For it to come loose a few weeks later, when I called to let them know it came loose and that I’d like for them to fix what they did wrong I was shouted at “I’m not gonna take this dude” “we’re not going to work for free” “you can drop it off and we’ll let you know how much it is” Customer service 0/5 Pricing 0/5 Work quality 0/5 Professionalism 0/5 Final rating: 0/5 I’d never let them touch my truck again! Attached photos shows a bushing not torqued and not greased, completely loose!

Second time taking my FJ40 Land Cruiser to Doug and the team at Overland. Very professional and easy to work with. I have a restored and modded FJ and they were able to replace a destroyed radiator ahead of schedule. Great work. Highly recommend.

Wish I would have checked the reviews before coming here. First off, the communication here is garbage. Depending on who answers the phone will determine what kind of info you get. Then when they say they’ll follow up with you they don’t. Then the vehicle takes longer than expected but they don’t call to let me know. I have to dig the info out of them. Finally, after pickup, I notice a lug is missing off my spare. I call to ask and they claim no knowledge. The only way this lug comes off is with a lock, which they had. So now on top of the !4800 they charged me, I’m going to be out another $1K to replace the rim that is now damaged. I highly regret coming here and highly recommend taking business elsewhere.

Overland 4X4 fixed the aftermarket ball joints on my 4Runner and did it right. They gave me an honest estimate, didn’t try to upsell me on anything, and got the work done quickly—had my vehicle back in just a couple of days. After five years of searching for a solid 4x4 shop in the Alexandria area (after moving from Colorado, where good off-road shops are everywhere), I’ve finally found the one. Their team is thorough, experienced with aftermarket parts/off road 4x4, and clearly knows their stuff. Labor might be a little more expensive than a dealership, but the quality of work and peace of mind are absolutely worth it. I’ll be going back for any future fixes upgrades or installs. Highly recommend.

I brought my Toyota Land Cruiser here about a year ago at another shop's recommendation to fix an axle issue. The other shop figured out the problem in under an hour and took pictures of everything, but did not perform this kind of work on the vehicle. I brought my truck to John, described the problem in detail and offered to provide the diagnostic report from the other shop. He was dismissive and said they would figure out the problem. Fast forward 2 weeks and a lot of back and forth with the shop, they still did not perform a full diagnostic of the problem and allowed me to speak with the technician directly. I told him about the other diagnostic report and the problem, and he asked me why I had not told him before (I tried to tell the shop manager but he dismissed me). At this point, I asked for a quote to fix the issue I originally asked them to fix, 1 week after this, the shop is still unable to provide a documented estimate despite me asking and the verbal estimate changes by about $1k more every time I call them and the final quote was $6,500. I eventually took my truck away as they were unable to professionally handle this. I contrasted this with two other shops I called who knew exactly what I was talking about and were able to generate an itemized quote within days without even looking at the truck. I ended up fixing this myself for under $900. I understand you are paying for labor when you take it to a shop, but the way this was handled was unprofessional. As a side note, the woman that works the front desk is flat out rude and should not be in the customer service business.

Overland is a dishonest shop. I went there to address a limited performance issue with my car. It took them a week to diagnose the problem, eventually attributing it to a full exhaust filter. Despite checking in every week for updates over a three-week period, I never received a clear estimate, and the owner, John, continually misled me with false promises of completion. When I finally picked up my car, it was supposedly fixed but still had the same performance issue. They charged me around $3,000 for what was essentially a filter cleaning, a service that the Land Rover dealership performs for only $200. After driving just five minutes from the shop, the same issue reappeared. When I returned, they claimed the problem was now a MAP sensor. I confronted John about the $2,600 labor cost, considering the filter cleanup should cost around $150 at most. John became defensive, yelled at me, and even tried to start a physical altercation when I caught him in his deceit. It turned out they hadn't cleaned the filter at all, only reset the computer to clear the warning lights. John is a dishonest individual and a scam artist. Avoid this shop at all costs. Save yourself time, money, and frustration by going to a reputable shop or directly to the dealer.

Overland 4x4 is my go-to Spot for any problems related to my restored 1985 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade. The owner John and his staff really know their stuff regarding 4x4 vehicles. When I have a problem or modification I can't do myself, I go to Overland. Prices are very fair and reasonable, the staff is excellent and attentive to the needs of my Jeep! Thank you John and staff!!

I’ve been coming to Overland for several years with my 2007 Jeep and recommend them to anyone needing quality service and the nicest staff. They give you all the information and in my case decide how to prioritize the care of my old Jeep. They are far better than work I had at dealerships and their prices are competitive. Highly recommend and Theresa at the front desk is delightful.
