Car had a landing check engine light. This place does free inspections and they were able to diagnose the issue and then fix it within 2 hours. As soon as I walked in they explained their process and even broke down how each part interacts and how and what to do to keep it from failing in the future. While visiting Chicago this weekend I parked my car in a lot overnight and someone attempted to steal my catalytic converter. Something that is very common in Chicago with the model of my car. It left me stranded in the city for another unplayed day. Couldn’t drive it back to Michigan. I waited to the morning to take it to a repair shop. After 4 hours the place didn’t even look at it yet so I decided to give Payless Mufflers a call. Not only did they check it out and diagnose the car within the first 15 minutes of me getting there, they got me in and out within 2-3 hours. Got to sit down and talk to the owner Mike. Listening to his stories after years in the car service industry I wasn’t as stressed out about the damage done to my car. I wish I would’ve went to Payless Mufflers as a first option first thing in the morning instead of trying to get it done elsewhere. They got me in and back on the road with a few hours of daylight left. Thank you Mike and family!! Just made it back home safely. I would highly recommend their service if you get in a situation like I did. If you own a Honda CR-V be cautious of where you park your car at night. The thieves come out when it’s dark and they will take your converter. Luckily mine was too heavy for them to snatch off. Still did $900 worth of damage but I’ll charge it to the game.

I cannot say enough good things about this place and everyone here. I am so grateful to have found a business I can trust with my car. I have come here twice and they have replaced my catalytic converter, exhaust sensor, brake pads, rotors, and calipers. I love that it is family-run and every time I am here, they go above and beyond to make sure I’m comfortable. A wonderful group of people doing a great job. I highly highly recommend Payless. My car was running rough and the Stabilitrak system warning was going off along with my check engine light flashing. I don't know much about cars but I know that isn't good. I was recommended to come here by a friend from work and I am SO GLAD that I did. I felt at ease the moment I called to ask if they were available to help.Without hesitation I'd recommend this place, it felt like family was taking care of me and it is easy to tell they are doing honest work. They did the diagnostic work up on my car, showed me on the device what was wrong and why it needed to be fixed. He showed me on the car what needed to be fixed and why. I needed engine coils and spark plugs replaced. I am so appreciative of these gentlemen. I'll be driving to Chicago from wherever I live to have my car taken care of by them.
