I gave this place 1 star because zero stars wasn’t an option. This was a terrible experience. My check engine light came on on a Sunday, I took my car to them because it was convenient and close by. I was told that the check engine diagnostic code was for an engine misfire and that they would be able to take care of the problem by replacing my spark plugs. I was told my car would be ready that evening, I get a call a few hours later saying it won’t be ready until the following day. I did pick up my car the following evening (Monday), my check engine light is off and everything is fine. Tuesday morning, I start my car up and the check engine light comes on right away. I take the car back to them and get told it’s the same engine misfire code that was supposedly fixed the day before. I get told to come back the following morning so the tech who did the work, Isaiah, can take another look. At this point I’m annoyed because this is turning into a hassle. But I agree to bring my car back so Isaiah can fix his mistake. I go back the following morning (Wednesday). Daniel tells me that he will call me in a few hours with an update. I don’t hear from anyone for the entire day. No update, no nothing. Extremely poor customer service. I feel like my car wasn’t looked at or worked on. Thursday morning comes, I call and speak with Becca to let her know that I will be picking up my car at 5:30 and that they don’t need to worry about doing anything to it. She asks me if I’ve been updated on what’s going on with my car and I let her know that no one contacted me the day before. She seemed confused that no one called me and offered to get me an update since I wasn’t coming to get the car for a few hours, so I could at least know what was done the day before. I appreciated the effort from her because there was NO effort from anyone else. Isaiah called me at 5:15 and told me they were still trying to figure out what was wrong with the car, they think it’s one of the cylinders and another tech would look at it in the morning. I very clearly told Becca that I was picking my car up at 5:30 and that they didn’t need to worry about doing anything to it. So I’m confused on why they were STILL attempting to diagnose the problem and talking about keeping it overnight at 5:15. I AGAIN said that I was picking up my car. They don’t seem to relay information to each other because Isaiah didn’t know that I talked to Becca that morning and that I was coming to get my car. I go to pick up my car and it’s radio silence from all the employees. The hood of my car was still up with the key in the ignition. I was able to take my car to a mechanic who had the knowledge to diagnose the problem, which was still the spark plugs by the way. So these crooks charged me almost $500 and didn’t even do anything.I’m mad at the amount of money they charged me just for the problem to not be fixed. There was also no urgency to rectify the issue. They won’t get my business again.

They sold my mom a tire with DOT of 2013 state of California says you can't sell tires that are over 5 years old because of the fact that it can blow out on the highway then when I went back in they wanted to argue with me about it instead of just making it right in the first place I had to threaten a guy with corporate office for him to do what was right and fix the problem.... the worst part is my mom told them her son was a Tire Tech and she's taking it to him to put it on so wouldn't they think I would check the stuff before I put it on

Went in after our car had a flat and got the spare on. Wanted them to look at the flat tire to see if it could be fixed. They looked it over and stated it cannot, which I was kind of aware of but didn't hurt to ask. Then had them sale me a new tire to replace the spare and they did the installation and service quickly. Very efficient and friendly.

On July 23, 2025 I experienced a significant issue while on I-5 near Bakersfield. Once the tow was set up, I contacted several shops in the area. Pep Boys was the only one who were willing and able to assess and repair. I was on the phone with Becky (Rebecca) and Daniel explaining what had happened and they replied "We got you". Becky had been on the phone searching for the parts even before the tow vehicle arrived! After hearing my story, they went above and beyond to get me back on the road later that day. The entire shop was fantastic and I would recommend to anyone in need of service. Thank you Becky, Daniel and the mechanic assigned ( I forgot to jot down his name but I believe it is Henry?) YOU ALL ROCK!!!

Great pricing along with work quality, if you're not satisfied with the job that was done they have a great policy on getting that fixed for free, may depend on the job but for the most part that applies and very convenient for those who don't let just anybody work on your car so with that being said you can get your services here risk free. Great customer service as well! Will always recommend Pep Boys for any car!

Great customer service with Rebecca, and Daniel. And my excellent Pit crew, Edgar who made my drive feel like new again, with His amazing skills and Quick work, he did 4 tires and alignment, brakes, and rotors, all in 4 hours. He also saw that 9 of my nuts were the wrong size, how did that happen(tire shop puncture repairs?). You all made me feel like I was Your family member and Pep Boys should be glad to have representation of their company where the rubber meets the road, with the people they serve. They are really thorough in their assessment of vehicles. They are also honest, if they cannot do the work, they will let you know without you having to spend your money. The store was clean and neat, easy to navigate and find what you need. The staff are very helpful and encouraging. They will also let you know if the issue with your vehicle is too much for them to handle, and offer suggestions to where you may need to go. The waiting area is small and uncomfortable. Their service is very slow. However, they were pretty busy when I arrived.

My go-to spot in town! Recently had to deal with a flat tire and they got a replacement in under 24hrs. This is mostly because the tires on my car have to be special ordered but they were quick and effective with it. I changed it to the spare and brought the flat in and were very honest and didn't try to upsell me on any more tires, just getting the one I needed. Came back the next day for an alignment and with the appointment I was in and out in about 40 minutes. Daniel and Rebecca were there both days and were extremely kind and professional as well as understanding as far as timing goes. The technicians do a great job at handling my car as well, safe and sound!

Been coming here for years and I feel like this place is getting worse. It looks like they working in a window building. When I called they said the wait would be 2 hours. But when I arrived they took me in quickly so someone is giving out wrong information. The waiting are is very small and not too welcoming. They don't provide and coffee or water hi while you wait and they only have 2 chats in the waiting area.

All i needed was a safety inspection which took about 5 min. The cost was $50. I think that is pretty high for filling out a form. The service guy was very nice and filled it out after checking my car.
