Horrible customer service by men at desk. No acknowledgement, no eye contact for 5 min while shuffling papers. "Can I help you". I had Tire rotation with appt.." that will be 3 hours to wait". Went to great local spot. Did it for No charge, with no appt. In 10 min. Stay Away from All PepBoys.

We got stuck in a jam far from home and, "The boys" in the shop were fantastic. They out did themselves with their fast thorough service, as well as, their kindness and, pleasant hospitality. Thank you!

We were from out of state and ended up with a flat tire over the weekend when no one else was even open. They got us in as soon as they could and got everything taken care for us. Amazing service.

These guys are awesome. They beat all of the competitors prices. Had the tires in stock, got me in immediately and had it done in less than 45 minutes. The whole experience was perfect.

I've taken my family's vehicles to the Salem, MA Pep Boys for years for our oil changes and other services. The service, staff, and communication have been top notch. They are honest and know their service limitations with the numerous vehicle brands/types they deal with. They never over reach to make a buck at this location. Very rare these days. I highly recommend this location.

I would give them zero if i could.....had brakes done, they forgot to attach my tire back on my car... did a ton of damage, and refuse to pay to fix it...I would stay as far away as possible.

Went in for an oil change. while my car was pulled in the bay I went to use the bathroom looked like a war zone filthy mirror no paper towels, coming out of the bathroom I look through the window into the shop and see some guy that is clearly not a technician (he’s not in uniform) leaning up against my car drinking his coffee a day after I had it washed and waxed finally get my car and I start it up and a message pops up on the dashboard “reminder, oil change needed soon.” The only good thing about this place was the young man behind the counter with the curly hair in a pony tail very polite and professional.

Our Mazda CX-30 had been running on borrowed time. The OEM tires were so worn out, we were practically inflating them daily just to make it down the street. Every drive felt like a game of roulette—will it hold, or will we end up on the shoulder sending an SOS? Then came the grand finale. As if the car itself knew salvation was near, we pulled into the Pep Boys lot in Salem, MA… and BOOM—three of the four tires gave out like dramatic actors in a soap opera. It was a full-blown rubber rebellion. One minute we were coasting in, the next minute it sounded like fireworks under our feet. 💥💥💥 But the team at Pep Boys? Cool as ever. They didn’t flinch. They rolled up, assessed the damage, and got us outfitted with four brand new tires like it was just another Tuesday. No judgment, no hassle—just fast, friendly, lifesaving service. Now the Mazda drives like a dream, no more daily pump sessions, and we no longer live in fear of spontaneous tire combustion. If your car’s tires are on their last breath, trust us—drive (carefully) to Pep Boys in Salem. Or crawl. They’ll get you back on the road. Thank you, heroes of the tread!

Had 4 tires replaced, alignment and oil change. Great service & friendly attentive staff. They give you a full physical inspection report with pictures (original tires, brakes, shocks, exhaust, etc.) with no up-sell or pressure for additional services.

Overpriced. Online PEP Boys advertises $188 per tire. Oil change is quoted at $50- $65. Salem quoted the oil change at $135.. They quoted $1900. For four tires. Doesn't add up. Always overprices...for everything. Do yourself a favor go to your dealership or a local mechanic...it will be cheaper and you will pay less for good tires!

Beware of bait and switch sales tactics. I needed one tire mounted to replace a non-repairable one in a set of low mileage tires. I called this location carefully described the car model And here and confirmed that they have the proper tire in stock and made an appointment I drove all the way up from Boston, only to walk in and find two employee Leisurely helping another customer on the same register. Stood there for 10 minutes with them not even acknowledging my arrival with a. "Will be with you in a minute" Then, when I finally do get their attention, be rather surly employee informs me that they can't do a single tire on my car (Without even looking at it) Because on "That type" Car you need to install in sets of four. So apparently, according to pep boy, weasels Anytime a car gets one damaged tire, it's a requirement that they sell four Replacement. Unethical, rude and to be avoided. The only saving, Is that by switching their entire business to just Service, and then not providing anything amounting to Service, they won't be around long anyways...

On a Sunday I noticed I had a nail lodged in my tire. They were the closest shop on a Sunday open so I pulled up. Service was great. I did leave the vehicle with them. It took them a little over an hour to repair the tire. The price to repair the tire was more expensive than what I paid at another shop. I still recommend.

As a new car owner, keeping up with maintenance can be very stressful and frustrating. But every time I have come in shop whether it be for an oil change or any minor repairs, they have been nothing but amazing. They are always detailed and throughout on what they do and never rush on anything. They are overall very friendly and knowledgeable, and I’m proud to be a continuous costumer of pep boys

Made an appointment over the phone, was told to come in during the next 45 minutes so they can check my car out real quick. Drove 30 minutes out of my way to be told I can’t get seen until 4pm at the earliest (it’s 10am right now). Walked in and was told “I spoke with someone from India on the phone, not their store”. Don’t make appointments over the phone they just lie.

Read the reviews before coming here, because I should have. I wasted so much time bringing my truck back to this place after a simple brake job. At one point, I came to pick my Chevy up and the guy at the front desk couldn’t even tell me what they did to it that day. They installed defective equipment on my truck and it took 3 separate visits to correct the problem. Nice staff, easy booking, but it’s not worth the amount of time it takes to correct a basic problem.
