In my personal, Happy Customer opinion; Realistic Auto Restorations Inc. is absolutely Top Notch at fixing / modifying your Classic / American Muscle / British Sports / European Exotic car. The restoration they did on my Brother's, 1967 Rally Sport Camaro, is still holding up FANTASTIC; 26 years after they tore the car down to bare metal (1992) and re-did everything! The "Deep Water Blue" metallic paint is still sparkling in the sunlight--outstanding. The interior still smells like killer; 1960's Chevy bucket seat vinyl and black factory carpet. The 327 V8 runs like a champ with 4-barrel Carb, Dual Flowmaster exhaust, and the Muncie 4-speed stick shift, clicks from gate-to-gate, like a smooooth dream. Do you understand that these folks LOVE cars with a passion? This is not a chain-auto-repair shop. The people that work here are true automotive craftsmen. Imagine "Yoda" or "Obi wan Kenobi", with a Craftsmen or Matco full tool set! Take it from someone who paid their money and is MORE than thrilled with the outcome. I can't say enough good things about Realistic Auto Restorations Inc. Don't trust your precious Hot Rod / Classic car with someone else. Take it to the experts.

They told me to take my classic car somewhere else when I asked for an explanation of the labor charge. They quoted me 8 hours when the normal rate is 3 1/2 hours. There might have been extenuating circumstances, but when I asked nicely they told me to take it elsewhere! Another shop did it perfectly for 3 hours.

BEWARE...unless you have more money than brains. Severely overcharged labor hours to repair a power window. I would estimate the overcharge to be a minimum of 6 hrs or $570. The actual overcharge could be higher. It's hard to determine due to the way they listed it in their invoice. Convenient! Note: This charge was merely to DIAGNOSE the power window issue. The vehicle was returned with a non-working power window. Additionally, I was charged 2 1/2 hours labor to remove glue from around the wheel wells when one hour should have been sufficient...an overcharge of $135. Also, they added a 25% surcharge for a part that they couldn't find yet I found with one phone call. I asked my parts guy to call them to verify it was the correct part & asked it to be charged directly to me. Instead it was shipped & charged to the shop so that cost me another $22 due to the 25% surcharge. In addition, they overcharged me $325 for dent removal which they had to refund after the BBB got involved as I had documented a clear conversation with the service manager. Also, they charged a 1.5% fee if you pay be credit card; however, no verbal notification of this initially or by phone when they wanted the car picked-up and this fee was not listed on the invoice. That's just the items I could identify within their invoice. Seek a shop with integrity.

Really appreciate the work they did on my 1932 Chevrolet Roadster. The project offered many challenges, including no longer available parts that needed specialist rebuilding and skills to do mechanical work with systems that were sunset in the 1950's. Additionally, they were also not fussed about storing the vehicle while waiting for parts and then my return to town - which is somewhat rare in St Pete. Car is running really well again - appreciate all the work that the team at Realistic Restorations did. Thank you again.
