Everything in previous reviews is 100% correct! Jay and Gene are are the real deal. I have always done my own work on my vehicles because I distrusted mechanics, but Jay and team have change my perception of garage integrity. They give clear descriptions about problems and the repair options you may have. They have bent over backwards to accommodate us time and time again. They set accurate expectations of the work and completion times and will go out of their way to meet them. Even if that means staying late until the job is finished. Prices are fair and I am comfortable letting them do whatever they feel needs doing (I can't believe I just said that about a mechanic) :-) They are there to earn your business... NOT to just take your money. If I could only find one criticism, it would be that the customer-facing area (waiting room and front desk) needs a bit of sprucing up. I don't expect the atmosphere of a day spa, but a little paint, new furnishings, and general tidiness would go a long way. I have engaged Jay in many off-topic discussions about cars we may be looking to buy, and his passion and knowledge for cars is very apparent. Give them a call. It's what all the cool kids are doing these days. :-)

I’ve been taking my BMW to Renaissance Auto for a couple years now and couldn’t ask for a better experience. Jay and his team are very detailed in the work they do and never pressure you to make unnecessary repairs. They’ll walk you through every step of the way and ensure you make the best decision for YOU. The work has always been done faster than I expect and always at a fair price. They’ve helped me with everything from routine work/diagnosis to extensive AC work. I can’t speak highly enough about them!

Nothing but praise for their customer service and repair work. Jay really helped my daughter since she goes to NC state and I am back in Chicago. He identified the issues with her vehicle and fixed them quickly. He even spoke to me over the phone to explain the issues before he fixed them to make sure I understood the required repairs and the costs involved. My daughter had been looking for a mechanic she and I could trust, I think we found him. UPDATE 06/10/2021: I can't say enough about the service jay provides. My daughter is away at college and needed to purchase a used car. Jay helped her along the way since I was not able to be there to look at vehicles. Jay checked three cars for her and he contacted me to discuss his findings and his thoughts on the vehicle price. He is very accommodating in a way that I have never experienced at a repair shop. He is honest and really seems to care about his customers. I find that very important since I am a business owner which makes me sensitive to how customers are treated. Mom's and Dad's this is the place for your sons and daughters to bring their vehicle if you are looking for trustworthy repair service.

I just moved to NC and found myself in need of a place to take my car for service on my A/C. I was really looking for a local business so I did a research “deep dive” and came across the amazing reviews for Renaissance Auto Care. I called to make an appointment and the owner, Jay, was able to get me in right away. From my first conversation with him, I felt welcomed and comfortable leaving my vehicle in his hands. He was thorough in letting me know what could’ve been happening with my A/C, and what he needed to do to diagnose the situation. I had some things to do at home so a staff member, Ethan, drove me home so I could wait comfortably for Jay’s call. Once inspected, he explained everything to me to make sure I understood what was happening with my car and the options I had for repair. Not once did I feel pressured to have work done. Jay just explained his findings and let me make my own decision. I was given a quote range (which I expected because with the A/C system, you never know if it’s minor or major until you’re in there) and timeframe for the service completion and he kept me updated on the progress. It took very little time, the final cost was on the low-end of the quote and my air was finally working again! Renaissance Auto Care is everything these other positive reviews say they are-and more. Reliable and dependable. I will definitely be going back for all of my auto maintenance and future repair work. Many thanks to Jay and his staff, you now have another permanent customer.

They’ve been very honest. Each time I take my car to renaissance they’ve taken the time to walk me through any issues and their recommendations. They stand by their work. I had an issue that they corrected, a few weeks later they determined that the on board computer needed to be repaired by the dealership, they gave me a full refund. They do not over sell, they’ve explained they don’t want to put parts and labor into an issue before they’re sure it will fix the problem. I’ll definitely keep taking my cars back.

We first went to Renaissance auto last June when our last car broke down on the highway. They informed us the engine would need to be replaced and its cost. Since it was an older car we didn't know if it's worth replacing the engine. They were very kind to let us leave the car at their parking lot while we took the time to decide. We decided to get a new car and they were very kind to do a pre-purchase test that same day for us. Fast forward to last week when I went in for an oil change and mentioned I had noticed a "hot glue gun" smell after each drive. They checked it and informed me that we needed to replace the condensor fan. We got our car from Carmax and had MaxCare but we'd need to go to a shop that's in contract with Carmax for them to cover part of the cost. Renaissance auto was very understanding and assured us that that's what anyone should do to save some money. The other shop fixed our car but because they used different terminology in their invoice, I thought they didn't fix one of the parts. I was so anxious to drive the car as I was convinced something's still wrong. I ended up stopping by Renaissance auto to see if I could pay them to check the car for me. They took a look right away for free and assured me the car was fully fixed. I felt relieved immediately. I really trust the mechanics at Renaissance. As a woman, I've been talked down to by plenty of mechanics in the past, so I especially appreciate how patient and respectful the guys at Renaissance auto are when they explain car stuff to me.

The folks at Renaissance are the best! They are incredibly professional and helpful. They always take the time to explain the issue and provide multiple options. They are very honest and thorough and we have never felt pressured or rushed into a decision. And their prices are very reasonable. In one case for us, they even provided some extensive diagnostic analysis and then did not even charge us for the information. We highly recommend Renaissance!

The customer service here is top notch. Jay and Ethan were transparent with my repair, stayed in touch with me throughout the whole process, and provided quality service in great time. I installed a defective thermostat housing on my Jeep (unknowingly, of course) and couldn’t figure out why it kept leaking coolant. I brought it in on a Monday or Tuesday and it was ready to pick up by Thursday afternoon. They used some of the parts that I had bought to try to fix it myself which saved me some money on the overall repair. They also provided a 2 year warranty for the work done and the housing that they installed. I can’t express enough how valued I felt as a customer. At Renaissance Auto Care, you can expect exceptional customer service and quality auto repairs for a fair price. Thank you Jay and Ethan!

If I could give Jay and the crew at Renaissance Auto Care more than 5 stars, I would! I take my Toyota Avalon to Renaissance for its regular oil changes and any other repairs that are needed. Jay takes the extra time to explain what is going on with my car and offer his advice and opinions. I never feel pressured or oversold. I know I'm getting a fair assessment and a fair price. I cannot recommend the team at Renaissance more. I had an ongoing unknown issue with my car, whilst also needing an oil change. They listened to my description of what was going on, gave me a honest and thorough explanation that it could be a number of things and they took the time in their busy week to squeeze me in for the oil change and diagnostic. Unfortunately, my car decided to act “fine” for them, but they gave me a call after running the codes and taking a look under the hood and gave me their best hypothesis for the issue along with communicating to me what they thought would be the best course of action given my cars age and mileage. I cannot sing higher praises for my appreciation. They were able to get the parts in, worked with me flexibly to accommodate my needs and took such good care of my car. They told me what to look for moving forward and to follow up with them if I needed anything else. The cost was beyond reasonable and being a young woman I can speak to that they did not try to upsell me or take advantage of my lack of car knowledge. Thank y’all so very much for all of your help!

I've gotten burned a few times by dealerships and certain large chain mechanic shops, so decided to give Renaissance a try. Jay was by far the best mechanic I've dealt with. He's super friendly, didn't charge anything for diagnostics, gave me a call and took the time to explain exactly the issue and what my options were. Definitely feels like Jay takes pride in his work, I never felt like I was being needlessly upsold. And my brakes work great! Highly recommended and I will be coming back in the future.

Trustworthy, honest, competent, and hard-working… What more could you ask for in a mechanic? When we were expecting a new baby, we took our cars to get checked on to ensure safety. If you want honesty and integrity then this is the place to go! As I chose to sit and wait for repairs to be done, I listen as customers after customers came in. All getting the same care of service. Jay was honest about what he could do and what he didn’t he was able to refer them to someone good he trusted! My work was supposed to He explained what was going on with each person vehicle in detail. Letting them know what needed immediate attention and what could maybe wait a little. Jay has restored my faith in you can have an honest mechanic. I wish I could give 10 ⭐️ Stars. This is my first repair with them I had both axles replaced. I will never take any vehicle anywhere else. They also got me out quicker than I expected. Pricing is also great. Thank you all for such great service!

Unbelievably honest folks!! I had an issue with my adaptive cruise control switch. When they diagnosed (at no charge) they told me they’re not sure why it works sometimes and not at other times as there could be multiple different layers so to speak that may or may not be affected and that to get to that level only a dealership would be able to help. Even when I asked if they could see if I need a battery replacement, they checked and told me it’s good for some time (again no charge!!). However, they did offer me a system reset (again at no charge at all) and told me that it may (or may not) solve the problem. Lo and behold, it did solve the issue (for now) and I couldn’t be happier with their honesty and customer service! Even when I offered to pay something, they were too kind to politely decline. I’m definitely going back to them for anything and everything car related in the future and bringing my business to them! Highly recommended!!!
