I drove to St Louis from MI and when I arrived Thursday night there was a clunking sound coming from the back driver's side. I called on Friday to see if he could check it for me. I was told to bring it right in. He called me later the same day to tell me what the problem was and was able to get it fixed before he close that same day so I could head back home on Sunday. The price was extremely reasonable. I just want to say thank you.

These guys are great!!! I took all my fleet vehicle there for maintains, as well as my personal car. They are honest and will explain exactly what they are doing and why. Once even they even showed me how to fix some thing myself instead of charging me because they thought it was an easy enough fix., that won me over for life. Thanks guy

First trustworthy mechanic I have found in a long time. They do great work at reasonable prices without going out the way to find more work to do. They give you options and suggestions which are appreciated. I would highly recommend this business.

I needed a repair for a 2006 Saab which are notoriously annoying to repair. They let me know that it's very difficult to find parts for the Saab but that they will find a workaround. They are really pleasant to work with and are just a straight and honest bunch. The repairs ended up costing half of what they initially quoted, they could have charged me what they initially quoted but didn't. I also had the vehicle go through safety and emissions inspections, it failed the emissions inspection initially but they gave advice on how to get it to pass and offered a free re-inspection which it then passed.

Everytime i've taken my vehicle to them they've always given me great service. My car would be fixed and i never had to take it back with a complaint. And it doesn't hurt that they are honest and nice.

I came in multiple times asking to identify and fix a single issue. The mechanic who worked on my car each time had a fixation of turning off my check engine light (which isn't what I asked for). A thousand dollars and multiple trips later, they basically put a bandaid on the issue and a week later my car was back in the condition I brought it to them. I took it to another repair shop and they identified the actual issue for 60 dollars. They ARE very nice people though, and I like to believe it was just a mistake, but a mistake that cost me a lot of money, that I need.

Been a long time customer for 10+ years and have never had a complaint. They're straight shooters and will help you get the best deal possible for repairs or maintenance. Best auto shop in the city, hands down.

Took my used truck I bought there after I literally had 10 different Mechanics look and work on it. None of them could figure it out, or knew it was electrical but Rich's found out it was immediately. It took them a long time because I'm sure it wasn't easy considering all the wires in the engine.but they fixed it. Price wasn't too bad either. Problem was I bought it off Craigslist and I'm sure the owner knew of this problem, now looking back. I had issues after Rich's fixed it and decided to junk it, per Rich's, and they were right. Blazer was junk from the start. But I would definitely recommend Rich's. They were very patient with me and dedicated to figuring it out.

Found serious problems with the suspension in my Ford F-150 during a state safety inspection without any intention or expectation of making money off of the issues they found, but instead pointed me toward taking it back to the shop that made shoddy repairs. I've dealt with them over the years and they have always been 100% honest and very reasonable in terms of cost. This is the kind of neighborhood shop that will care about your car and care about you rather than a dealership or a chain just trying to suck every cent they can out of you to pay their astronomical overhead and advertising. If you live in the Gravois Park area these are the folks you can rely on.

I've taken my cars to Rich's for 20 years. The first time, I took it in, suspecting that I needed the clutch replace. Rich called, said it needed to be replaced and gave me an estimate. I told him to go ahead but by the time I got off work, he'd left me a message telling me that once they'd gotten the car on the lift, they only needed to lube the linkage. Which was a significantly cheaper repair. I became a loyal customer at that moment. Fast forward 20 years, I moved to Dallas. I'm having clutch issues again and took it to a shop that was close by -- the estimate seemed really high (like 3x what I paid the last time a clutch needed to be replaced). I called Rich to get a copy of the warranty paperwork and I told him what the shop told me. He told me to call them back, get a breakdown of what needed to be repaired and then offered to take a look at it for me. Next to Riley's Pub, Rich's is the place I miss the most. He runs an honest shop, and is fairly priced. If you live in South City, you should never take your car anywhere else!

My alternator broke while I was visiting St Louis. I only had a day or so to get it fixed and be back on the road. Rich’s looked at every warehouse he worked with plus another to find my part and for the best price as it was an expensive and particular one. He then got me in the next day and had it all done by 11:30am. It was less than 24 hrs before I was up and running. Their pricing was super fair and they kept their word on the quote as well even though in the end it could have been a little higher. Highly recommend!!

I always love supporting businesses in my neighborhood. I had a small bit of damage to my car and Rich took a look and gave me a fair price for the repair. I hope I do not have other issues with my car but if I do I will be sure to give Rich another call.

My AC wasn’t working and I took it to two places before I took it to Rich’s on a recommendation. They not only fixed the problem (replaced compressor) but identified what was wrong with it, which the other two said something else besides the compressor was broken. They walked me through all the steps and were very flexible on times I could get it done. Truly one of the best experiences I’ve had with any auto shop. Highly recommend!

Worst experience ever. Stay clear of this shop!!! I brought my vehicle up to this shop 4 different times to fix my AC and I'm still driving around with hot air blowing thru my AC. The shop techs will break part of your vehicle and won't even relay the information to the customer or owner. I had to find out on my own, that they broke my rear tail light cover and they super glued it together, see pics. Owner Rich, doesn't return calls. I'm still waiting for my call back from his lunch break return. They also will scratch the heck out of the paint on the parts they remove.. pics attached. Stay clear of this shop. They allow their mechanics to come to work with their gun on their hip, while in the view of the customer. Mechanic intimidated me while I was talking to the front desk man, with his gun on his side.very VERY unprofessional.
