My Chevy Tahoe Gear Shift got stuck in reverse. Called and explained the problem and Richard’s Automotive was sure they knew what the problem was before my truck arrived. Not that they need it anymore business because they’re always slammed every time I go in there. But this place is just simply the best. These are the most honest people out there they never ever ever sell me more than I need. Just got my plugs replaced, and it also said that I have One or more coils out. It would’ve been so easy for them like many shops do saying that all of my coils need to be replaced and of course not them. They just sell me the one coil that needs to be replaced in my plugs extremely reasonable. This place knows how to build long-term business. I will never ever take my vehicle to anywhere else. I’m at a point where I don’t even ask for an estimate upfront even though they always give me one anyway.

I came in at 8am to find out what’s wrong with my 23 year old Honda accord and within an hour they called me and quoted me for my repair, turns out I needed a whole new radiator. They fixed it on the same day and for an amazing price, which was nice because I’m a poor college student in tampa. I’ve been to a lot of other car shops and this has by far been the best experience I’ve had, no scams, no tricks, super nice and straight forward people. I will definitely come back again for any future services!

Huge shout out to Richard's Automotive on Hillsborough!! I have had poor experiences locally by AutoWorks of Tampa and BayBrothers. BB quoted me $2300 for new radiator and water pump and "did some fancy footwork" to bring it down to $1800. Called Richard's after another post recommended them. Gave me a quote right on the phone IF that's actually what needed to be done and stuck to it. Not only did I pay $900 less, I also am back in it a full day earlier than expected! Tom takes care of his workers who take care of us when we need their help.

Took my car here to get checked when I was in Tampa from out of state because my car seemed like it might be a little slow to start. I have my mechanic in Nashville check my car over every time it's in for an oil change, and they checked it right before I left for Florida (I might have driven at most 1500 miles). No mention of suspension issues when I was in Nashville. Richard's Auto told me I needed $2500 worth of suspension work - struts, shocks, front and rear links, sway bar, then an alignment. I got the car back to Nashville to get a second opinion from the mechanic I trust, and they said the suspension is absolutely fine. Not sure what it is about men in the auto industry in Florida taking me for an idiot and trying to rip me off, but I have yet to find an honest mechanic in the state.
