Been going to Rick's for over 15 yrs. Very good and fairly priced. Will always tell you what you really need and not try to sell you on products/services that you really don't need just to line their pockets with profits. Good warranty as well on all work performed. Have taken 4 cars there, both foreign and domestic, for repairs and SMOG testing when needed.

Amazing service, genuine staff, and stellar mechanics! I’ve been to a lot of auto shops for my 2001 Jeep and Rick’s Lube Complete Autocare sets the bar high. Rick, Nick and the rest of the crew exceeded my expectations and have become my go to auto shop. One that I will not hesitate to recommend. I really appreciate their thoroughness and quality of work, I will definitely be back for whatever my jeep may surprise me with!

I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment, they said no sir..I was quoted price options for my vehicle oil change. When I arrived I was greeted in a timely fashion even though they were very busy within 10 minutes my car was in the bag with the service being performed the manager came and showed me that my air filter and interior filter were both pretty shot I had those replaced as well as the oil and oil filter the whole service was less than a half an hour they filled my wiper fluid and check my other fluid levels and let me know they were okay it was a great service at very fair price extremely courteous personnel very competent staff would recommend

I bumped into Rick with his Jeep and told him I had a good experience getting my oil changed at his business. He said thank you for the business. I went back to get a brake inspection. The mechanic didn’t put down service paper so he got oil stains from his shoes all over my car carpet. Very unprofessional and I will not be going back to get my car serviced there.

Came here initially because of positive reviews on Yelp and was totally disappointed. I felt scammed and taken advantage of... My car did not pass the SMOG check in January 2023, so I took it to Rick's to get repaired. After the check-up, two issues were present with my vehicle and I have agreed for Rick's to repair one of the issues which was the replacement of an oxygen sensor. If I had known what they would have done to my car, I would have moved my car out of their shop immediately after the check-up. I paid $480 for the part and labor of replacing an oxygen sensor. Afterward, I went to another car mechanic for the repair of the second car issue, which was the replacement of a transmission sensor. At the second mechanic, I learned that Ricks did a poor job with the replacement of the oxygen sensor. More specifically, they installed the wrong oxygen sensor on my car. As a result, I paid an additional $680 for the second mechanic to replace both a transmission sensor and an oxygen sensor (which Rick's should have fixed). In the end, the second mechanic helped me to fix all of my car issues and my vehicle passed the SMOG check. However, I felt unjustified that Rick's took my money and installed the wrong sensor, so I went back to Rick's for a refund. The manager listened to my complaints but refused to give a refund because I did not take my vehicle back to Rick's after finding out that Rick's installed the incorrect oxygen sensor. The problem was, I did not realize what Rick did to my car until I went to the second mechanic. Frankly, when I found out what Ricks did, I lost trust in their work ethics...During the conversation regarding the refund, the manager's attitude was not apologetic, and eventually walked away from the conversation. My entire experience was awful and I would not trust my car with Rick's anymore, despite all the nice reviews from Yelp.

This places overcharges on most this are try to get you to pay for stuff that doesn't need to be done. They tried to replace my water pump due to squeeking belt, although I sprayed the belt with water and the squeek would go away thus proving its the belt. I had drove the car 3000 miles like that and it never once overheated. I came back months later, I had found a Crack in my radiator. They replaced it for 675, not a bad price. I then had overheating issues. Found that they hadn't connected a cable from the fan to the engine back.

I came here for the first time for a smog check. Someone greeted me right as I pulled up and directed me where to go. They were fast and efficient with no issues. The store is clean and parking was easy. The price was even better then the run down place I’ve been going to in the past. Couldn’t be better. I’ll definitely be coming here from now on.

Rick's Lube Complete Auto Care is a great place to get a quick check up for your vehicle. I've only had great experiences. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about vehicles. The longest I waited for my truck was 20 minutes tops. The shortest period was 6 minutes. I love prices and the cell phone charging station. I didn't expect such a clean auto center. It caught me off guard. I highly recommend this location for auto care. I wish they did tires also. Regardless, it's a great place.

Good honest mechanics. Very knowledgeable. I wanted a full tune-up on my car. They told me that new spark plugs weren't needed, and can wait until my next oil change. They saved me some extra beer money. They also got the work done really quick.

We have been going to either Rick's dad's "Big Rick's" shops for over 30 years. My family and I have all of our preventive maintenance done here. We would not think of having our vehicles serviced anywhere else! Thanks to everyone at both Torrance and their Catson location for the great service we receive each and every time we come in.

Friendly and quick service. I’ve been coming here for my oil change exclusively since I purchased my car two years ago but the last time, they overtightened the drain plug and the new place I took it to now noticed damage to the plug and filter and charged me extra to remove and replace. Seems like they’re using the air ratchet when they’re not supposed to. Lazy work, will not be returning

Came by at 2:45 on a Saturday and was told they’re “done for the day” , so I went to Oilstop instead. I get it they’re getting ready to close but there was an open bay, a quick oil change shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes. Based on recent reviews you’d think they might try to repair their image but allgood I don’t think I’ll be returning

I was at BCG in Torrance waiting for my food order and saw this guy taking pictures of the female employees when they had their backs turned to him. Giving off major creeper vibes. Check your employees.

Do not use this store for auto repair. I took my Toyota car for repair as check engine light came on. I got air fuel sensor replaced for $72.61 per auto mechanic's recommendation. Store manager said I won't have problem again. But 7 weeks later check engine light came on again. This time manager said mass air flow sensor is not working. I had it replaced for $267.94 this time. However, 2 days later check engine light came back on again. This time they said all fuel injectors need to be replace for $785.40. I declined it pointing out I cannot rely on their diagnosis and asked for the refund. Initially owner Rick Nickel offered refund but later he changed his mind and refused to do so. I tried to resolve the issue with owner but he tried to avoid me. He is not trustworthy. Store mechanic is incompetent and ignorant about car. They did not find out what is wrong with my car and got me waste money but did not take responsibility.

7/2022 update: their “Complete Auto Care” apparently requires a two hour wait for a brake inspection. They will not allow me to come back in two hours. You need to wait. Two years ago; Left Pep Boys that said they would need an hour, and saw Ricks. Pulled in and got an oil change in 15 minutes. Extra bonus they have a sign out front for a $23.99 oil change (extra oil and Jeep filter were extra)

The only reason I am giving this place one star is because the owner has been gracious to me over the years! Rick is THAT guy but his employees? More specifically, the "manager" at this location is a piece of work. I went in two weeks ago for a full brake work up. Thank God, I received direct instruction/ feedback from Rick, the owner. Rick affirmed me that all was well with my brakes and that I would not need to change my brake pads. He did recommend that I change my wheel bearings and offered a deal on getting them all replaced that day. After driving around with this terrible squeak for weeks, I was open to doing all what needed to be done. I paid about $491 after taxes for this service and parts; driving off with full confidence in the job they've done. Needless to say, the squeak came back about a week. Today, making it two weeks to the day since my last visit, I decided to take my car back to Rick's with hopes of seeing the owner to get to the root of this issue. As soon as I pulled up, the manager came out and I told him that I had been here two weeks ago and I'm still hearing the same noise from the initial visit. I took a test drive with him so that he could hear the noise. After the drive, I asked how long it would be because I had just finished a 12 hour shift and didn't want to wait a long time. even tols him that I'd come back another day. The manager told me the wait for the diagnostic would be less than 30 minutes to see what the issue was. This was the first issue, I waited almost an hour and a half before he let me know that my brake pads needed to be replaced. He said that the metal clip was missing from it and because they don't sell that part separate from the padding itself, I'd need to replace the break pad altogether for an additional $200. Now, this would have been fine if Rick hadn't affirmed me that the brake pads were fine 2 weeks ago. The manager continues to tell me that while the brake pads are in still "good shape" -- I'd need to pay for them to be replaced because the little metal part that's missing from the top of the brake pads is what is rubbing against my rotors making the scratching/ squeaking noise. I've never been more disappointed in all my years of going to Ricks. This is completely unreasonable and the manager refused to let me speak to Rick about this issue as he did not want to "interrupt Rick's vacation". Again, I know Rick would have been taken care of this issue free of charge because this was a mistake on their end. And if he didn't waive it entirely, the least I would've had to pay is a service fee of about 75 bucks. The piece had to have been missing from the initial visit because I have not received brake care from anyone else since then, yet and still I'm down $491 dollars with my car still sounding like a dying bird. I left and plan to go back on Friday to speak with Rick directly. I hope to come back here with an entirely new tone. As of right now, avoid this place at all cost.

ILWU brothers and sisters DO NOT come here! Total rip off. My family and I were stranded in 100 degree on a single mountain road for hours while we waited for a tow that cost us $786 since it was an RV. Then they screamed and cussed me out when I went in to talk to them about it. Their staff stood around mad dogging me and they took absolutely no responsibility for the fact they had just done work on it right before our trip and had messed up that work where I had to bring it back multiple times that same day because they had used the wrong part.

As I said in my last 2 reviews, I will always have Rick Automives work on my 2015 Grand Cherokee. After the repairs, my jeep continues to run smoothly. And the service is awesome. Rick is offering maintenance to my car to keep it running its best . Highly recommend this mechanic.
