I would not recommend Ron’s to anybody. Below is an email I sent the owner, Ashley, in Sept. Despite following up, she hasn’t had the decency or professionalism to respond. Hello Ashley, I’m writing about the issue concerning the valve cover gasket removal & replacement job done on my 1998 T-100 at Ron’s on 6/1/23. I’ve been in touch with Spence (cc’d here) a few times over the last few weeks regarding the issue, and he has stated that he would pass along my request to please have you call me. I do understand that life is busy, but it is disappointing that I have not been contacted by you as this has given me the impression that I’m being avoided. It’s mainly disappointing considering the nature of how this issue arose (in collaboration with you personally), together with my patronage over the years as a longtime customer of Ron’s. Since I’ve already shared the videos with Spence and he stated that he has filled you in on the specifics, I will not provide any of those here (but please do let me know if you have any questions). Instead, I will get straight to what I was hoping to discuss with you. I will do my best to keep it short and sweet, but as in life: it’s complicated. First off, I’d like to acknowledge that I am aware of the parts & labor warranty provided to me on the Ron’s invoice I received, and also acknowledge that I contacted Ron’s a couple of months after said warranty had expired. Now, a request. All I’m asking for is some simple  consideration: that you consider the unique circumstances that would lead me to even ask you to consider the issue outside of the warranty period, and consider the request which I will make clear at the end. What I’d like you to consider: I’ve been living with an oil leak on that truck since the job was done. Why would I wait so long to contact Ron’s about it? Well, moving out-of-state (which I had shared with you), being forced out of our first home… life happens. Also, it’s an oil leak on an old truck: never super high on the priority list with other life things going on, and it would’ve cost more money to get it looked at by someone else down here, on top of the $1,200 I had already paid Ron’s to diagnose and address. I thought, oh well, I tried. In a nutshell, after having you look at it a second time, I took your word for it that the job was done, and that the oil smoke was just residual. After all, you seemed confident about it. I thought it must be something else. I always gave you my trust based on your confidence and willingness to help. I only just recently found out due to a busted exhaust pipe flange that the valve cover gasket job was done improperly. Full stop. Yes, improperly. Also, the reviews on the overall work performed at Ron’s that I got from the Toyota specialists down here that said that the valve cover gasket job was done improperly were not glowing. Not a good thing to find out when you’ve built up your trust in people. It gave me the sinking feeling in the gut that you get sometimes. Do you know that feeling? In any event, in closing, a request. During one of our recent conversations, Spence had asked me what it was that I wanted done about the issue. I told him that I didn’t know—that I don’t have experience with this sort of thing, was thinking that you all probably do given the nature of your business, and was hoping that you might have a solution in mind. I thought, Ashley will have an answer for this. (This was before I saw the warranty information on the invoice.) Since then, I’ve chewed on it, and believe that the fair thing would be for Ron’s to refund me for the labor on the valve cover gasket removal & replacement job ($280). Is this something that you would be willing to consider? I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know either way. Thank you for your consideration, David Garcia P.S. I did originally request that Sam perform the repairs in question on my vehicle. I was told “sure” initially, but then someone else ended up doing the job. I’m convinced that had Sam done the job, all of this could have been avoided.

Ron’s repaired my car in only a day, including fixing a hole in my radiator, rotating my tires, changing my oil, and replacing a headlight. They do great, fast work for a fair price. Definitely recommend!

Backed my car up into another car, then i left after they replaced brakes and rotors and I was still having issues. Brought it back in and they charged me to just have it looked at after they missed the issue in the first place. I will never bring another vehicle back to them
