If I could rate this place with no stars I would! So I’ll make a long story short. I called this shop cause I have been having electrical problems with my 2007 dodge ram 3500, I was able to talk to Miguel on the issues that I have and everything done prior of me towing my truck there. So he advised me to take it there so he can take a look and diagnose it, at the time of me dropping it off he seem 100% confident that he would get it fixed no problem. Even stated “ I guarantee you will be driving this truck out of this shop”. And with that said I dropped it off and hoped for the best. Few days went by and I get a call from Miguel saying that he couldn’t figure it advised me to spend $5000+ for a wire harness and a new PCM and what not. But anyway truck is fixed now at a different shop didn’t need a new PCM or harness!! BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE TAKING THEIR VEHICLE HERE (unless you want someone to promise false hope) in my perspective I would stay away find a real professional that can show you what they can do and not just talk about it.

I am adding my review and amending my 2 star to five. Initially my reasoning for two stars was because I had contacted Stockdale Automotive and Electric a little over a year ago but was not able to get in. Recently my sister was having electrical issues with her car.. I advised her it would probably be in her best interest to find an ASE certified mechanic who specializes in electrical. The reason I referred her to Stockdale Automotive and Electric is their years in service. The reason why I remembered them is because I remember always seeing their business when I was in hight school. The sad thing is my sister had already dished out a good amount of money to other mechanics who claimed they could diagnosed her problem and did not. The day she took her car in I went with her. They diagnosed the problem in about two hours. Which really blew my mind. They fixed the needed repairs and alleviated a lot of the anxiety that comes with doing business with a mechanic and hoping they are honest. They gave her a six month warranty on the repairs and also fixed something that was needed as a courtesy. So far so good car seems to be in order and running again. My personal opinion of this business is they do what they claim to do unlike other mechanics. They were prompt with diagnosing her issue and repairs. I will honestly say depending on your vehicles issue if it's electrical, I would definitely recommend this shop. Even it costs a little more they know what they are doing and that's huge. You get what you pay for and so far in my opinion Stockdale Automotive and Electric is the way to go. I hope this review helps anyone trying to find a qualified mechanic to work on their car.

DON'T SHOP HERE if you like being ripped off. Don't shop here if you dislike being respected as a customer. Don't shop here if you hate excellent service from competent mechanics. That is to say that my experience here was STELLAR. The best shop I've ever worked with. I trust them to do their job without trying to upsell you. They did diagnostics on my car and boy, did they do extensive testing. All without hidden fees and extra pay. They found the cause of my car's mysterious behavior and explained to my why it happens and how it got that way in the first place. This means a lot to me, as I'm almost always disappointed by mechanic shops. Everytime, something goes wrong. Until this one. All in all, I am very impressed and they've earned themselves a repeat customer. 11/10

I hardly write reviews, but I was so impressed with my results and how I was treated that I had to take time out of my busy schedule to do so. I came early in the morning because my low beams were not working. He asked if I wanted to leave the car or stay. I chose to stay. He was busy with paperwork, but after about 5 minutes, he came to do a quick inspection on my vehicle. After only 5 minutes, he had my car lights on and working. It turned out that Kia Optimas do not have a self leveling system, so if the headlights are changed and put in the wrong way the lights will not turn on. He didn't try to scam me like the mechanics at Firestone on Chester St did, saying it would cost $350, and he did not charge a 65$ inspection fee before doing the work. I asked what he would charge and he did it for LESS than half the price of an inspection fee. The man is honest and is very experienced. He went straight to the problem in front of my face. What I like about S.A.E is that the owner is so experienced that he will explain to you why you can't just install lights on certain cars the way you would on other cars. I would most definitely recommend this shop to anyone. He works on classics, older cars and new cars. They even rebuild engines and do light body repair. I just wish I found this place earlier.

Highly recommend avoiding. Took my Cadillac for an oil change. My key fob does not work and has to be inserted into the console to start the car. Instead of going into the console he ripped open my glove box and broke the mechanism. Now this may have been brittle plastic and was ready to break. However my concern is that he said nothing about it. I Had to confront him to get him to admit it and I was not there to see how hard he had opened it but I took my business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same.

I brought my car in early morning but my car didn't get looked at till late afternoon which meant It had to stay over the weekend. Which left me very inconvenienced not having my car. Ask for a diagnostic, yet still not pinpointed to what exactly is going on with my car. I was very disappointed with the outcome. For the he money that I paid I would have thought a better diagnostic. Most of it I already knew about. Felt like I just wasted my money. I did my research and thought I was going to a decent place, so I won't be going back.

I have to give a shout out to both of the gentlemen that helped me out when I came in. My car's blinker was on the fritz; my car radio started turning on and off by itself; and my car's safety air bag light kept going on and off. I came in to ask when they could take a look at it and the gentlemen was so nice and explained what they would have to do. I then came back to drop off my car back and got it back to me the same day so I didn't need to rent a vehicle. Juan was great when I dropped it off and helped coordinate getting my keys back to me since I work a late shift and was car-less. I felt informed and not taken advantage of and that is the best feeling as a woman walking into an auto mechanic. Thank you guys soooooooooooooo much for taking care of my car and being reliable and trustworthy.

I was having car trouble and found this place on the web with really good reviews. My car was shutting off on me and my battery was being drained. I called to get my car in to the shop and he was very professional it seemed like he knew what he was talking about, which I really liked. He ran a diagnostic test and it was the alternator which I okay him to fix and my car was just down for 2 days which is really fast and cool. He has a really good sense of humor and down to earth and friendly. I would recommend him 2 others and I give his shop a 5 star rating. If I have any more car trouble I will definitely be going back for the car work. Thank you so much for help me get back on my feet. I'm one happy customer!

These are my boys, I’ve never seen customer service such as these gentleman. They are the nicest 2 Brothers I’ve ever met . My 2014 RAM 1500 broke down with a complex electrical problem not long after COVID had impacted the economy, so finding new, essential parts was virtually impossible. As the Dodge dealership troubleshot, waited on parts, attempted getting used parts and even manually rebuilding the harness, a lot of time passed. New problems arose with the vehicle. The dealership threw in the towel and asked me to come get the truck. At the suggestion of my brother, I had my truck towed to Stockdale Auto Electric (SAE). I had a long conversation with them about what a pain this was bound to be. They were not intimidated. They explained their process to me - which seemed very meticulous and scientific - and they were straightforward about the realities of pricing and expected time frames. Given the nearly two years that the dealership had the truck (and weighing the insane expense of buying a new truck instead), I accepted that this could take at least months and might be steep on price, but felt then as I feel now that it was more economical than the alternatives and therefore worthwhile. As SAE made progress over the weeks, they kept in contact with me. I was elated when they had the truck fixed and finished after 3-4 months and I now have it smogged, registered, and back on the road again. I’m ecstatic that these guys got me back into my ol’ truck and their subsequent explanations of the problems they pinned down were a happy conclusion to what was a big friggin’ riddle for a very long time. These guys are polite, professional, no-nonsense go-getters who will take the time and effort to methodically diagnose and resolve the electrical issues with your vehicle when even the dealership can’t get it. My advice to prospective customers: This is not fast food. It’s not a simple in-and-out oil change. These guys are problem solvers and miracle workers. To quote the movie “The Princess Bride,” I would remind you, “You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles.” These guys will get it knocked out. Maybe even sooner than later. Just be realistic with your expectations on the resolution of difficult problems. It takes time. I am very, very happy with these guys.

I took my truck to Stockdale Auto electric for some electrical bugs that I thought was related to my motor problems. They found other electrical problems and solve those for me and informed me that my motor was bad and because I had a warranty, they went to bat for me with the warranty company and got me a replacement. Great place to take your vehicle if need work done. Mechanics are very knowledgeable and friendly. These guys saved me from over paying for some work another place said i needed done. Definitely recommend these guys. I will definitely use them again in the future, hopefully i dont have to come back for a while, but if i do i know they will treat me right.
