I took my car there for a diagnostic because my check engine light was on. It took them a day and a half to run a diagnostic and they charged me $150 for it. I told them I would be getting work done else where and would like to pick up my vehicle. When I picked up my truck, they had not cleared the code from my dashboard. When I asked them to do so, they responded a bit rudely but finally agreed to remove the code. Overall, very odd experience being there. I've never had a place take longer than 30 mins to run a diagnostic. Still very unsure as to what took so long to run it and why it cost $150. Would recommend going elsewhere if looking for a simple diagnostic run.

Extremely disappointed. I left my car with this shop for an entire week and it was never repaired. After all that time, they told me it needed to go to the dealer — something they could’ve figured out much sooner. Communication was poor throughout. I even rented a car while mine was supposedly being repaired, which ended up being a complete waste of money. Very frustrating — won’t be going back.

This is a great place. I have brought my Subaru there twice, once for a brake check and oil change and once for an emergency where my car would spontaneously shut off while driving. They got me in the same day, identified the problem quickly, got the parts and had it back to me the next day. Great service, good value, and very knowledgeable mechanics. I will definitely be coming back next time my car needs work.

S.A.P. Automotive Group provided outstanding service when my vehicle broke down. They towed my car quickly and repaired it promptly at a fair price. The staff was professional, explained everything clearly, and completed the repair faster than expected. My car runs perfectly now. Highly recommend them for efficient, reliable, and reasonably priced auto repairs in Baltimore.

Took great care of me and my car. Very courteous - very upfront and honest with pricing. I’d recommend these guys for anything. Don’t let the neighborhood intimidate you. These guys are good and honest! They also have a cat!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting SAP Automotive, and I must say, this shop stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of professionalism, communication, and customer care. From the moment I dropped my car off, the experience was seamless and reassuring. The owner, Sap, is not only courteous but also takes the time to truly listen to his customers, ensuring your concerns are heard and addressed. What really impressed me was the level of transparency throughout the process. After dropping my vehicle off, I received an email receipt that included photos of my car and detailed pictures of any issues that had been observed. It’s not often you get such clear communication from an automotive shop. And like many people, I came in for one issue only to discover a few other concerns. However, there was no pressure to immediately fix everything. Instead, the team offered clear explanations and suggestions, without any aggressive upselling tactics, which was incredibly refreshing. I highly recommend S.A.P Automotive to anyone who values honesty, professionalism, and a hassle-free experience. They have set a new standard for what an automotive shop should be. A special shout-out to the mechanic, Shaking (my apologies if I’ve misspelled the name), who not only did excellent work but also left my car spotless and free of any work debris. Truly an outstanding experience from start to finish.

I can’t say enough good things about S.A.P. Automotive From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with professionalism and honesty something that can be hard to find in the auto repair industry. The team here is knowledgeable, efficient, and truly cares about their customers. They took the time to explain what my car needed without any pressure or upselling, and the pricing was more than fair. The work was done quickly and thoroughly, and my car now runs better than ever. It’s clear that they take pride in their craft and value customer satisfaction above all else.

They did a great job fixing what another shop messed up. They kept me in the loop on the progress. I will use them again in the future for sure.

I had an emergency repair on Thursday evening… I damaged the oil pan on my mini van on a raised manhole cover. Roadside assistance delivered my van to SAP and the next morning I received text confirming they had my vehicle. They worked on my van immediately and got me back on the same day. Super grateful for the prompt service at a reasonable price!

I recently moved to Baltimore and was looking for a friendly and reliable auto repair shop. Initially I took my car to another shop and was very disappointed by the quality of their work and ended up experiencing several other issues after that service. I took my car to SAP and they were great--fixed all of my issues for a great price and in a quick timeframe. They were friendly and responsive as well--and have won me over as a new customer. Thanks again!

I had a truly horrible experience with SAP that is still ongoing. We needed new shocks and struts in my 2008 Mazda so we decided to take it back there for the service. We dropped it off April 24th. After they examined the car they also suggested we replace the drivers side front axle and the lower control arms on the front and rear. We were told it should be done by the end of the day of Wednesday, April 26th. On the 26th we were told it was almost finished and they just needed to do an alignment before the end of the day. Finally on Friday the 28th we are told its almost done (I can't recall the exact circumstances why). At the end of the day Friday we are told that the passenger side front strut was blown out of the box and they had to order another one and they would install it on Saturday. Saturday rolls around. We decide to wait around for the car, since we have a million errands to run. We call at 12/1/2/3/4/5. No answer. Finally the owner calls us back at 5:45pm and claims he has been waiting around all day for the part and it didn't arrive. Interesting that he was waiting around all day and managed to miss our phone calls for nearly 6 hours. Monday comes - part arrives at end of the day Tuesday comes - part installed but suddenly found out that another part needed to be replaced. So that's another $250. Wednesday - waiting on next part to arrive Thursday - they get the part late in the day Friday - car is done. We go to pick it up and surprise the only thing they didn't charge labor on is the mystery part that they just noticed on Tuesday. We drive the car, it seems okay initially but after a couple weeks we start to notice noises again. Not being car people, we assume this is just because it's an old car and since SAP did all that work it should be fine. Fast forward to 6/18 we are driving a couple hours from Baltimore and suddenly the car begins jerking and AT lights are coming on. We get to the Glen Burnie area and are scared to drive it any further, so we had it towed for free by AAA to a nearby mechanic. The primary problem with the car turned out to be the Transmission Control Unit which I am not holding SAP responsible for in any way. What did happen is when they went to diagnose this is they called me and asked "Have you had recent repair work done? The frontend of this car is a mess, we've never seen anything like that." - after that they gave me a list of all the issues they came across that SAP had caused (they are the only ones who have ever done any frontend work to my car). 1) When they installed the new struts, they used two different brands. One high quality, one cheap. The cheap one already blew out in a little over a month. 2) The axle had the incorrect and unsafe bolt used to install it, and the axle may be the incorrect one for my car (sleeve was stretched beyond normal). 3) The driver's side axle seal was busted and leaking transmission fluid 4) There were missing pins on both outer tie rod ends 5) The axle boot had been torn on the passenger side, causing grease to shoot all over the inside of the car. 6) The steering knuckle had damage caused by a torch on the passenger side. 7) There was damage to the bearing mount on the passenger side axle. 8) They said the alignment was way off (SAP did an alignment as part of the work) After reading the list above, any reasonable person would understand that I would never in a million years let SAP touch my car again. So I reached out to them and attempted to resolve this. In the initial reply, Shawn Price the owner outright lied about their responsibility and I had to go back to the other mechanic to confirm this. I replied multiple times letting them know we would never be comfortable having them touch our car again after the butcher job they did and their follow up emails were generic and impersonal. Total costs: SAP's work: $2500 Repair work done by the other mechanics: $1,942 Rental car for 2 weeks: $550 Avoid like the plague. Shady, poor communicators and horrible mechanics. Don't make my mistake.

Overall, shop is very organized and they have system. My repair was done on time and there was good communication. However, please beware the services can add up fast (it can get pretty expensive) please go in knowing your exact issue, the diagnostic is a flat fee of $134 and the labor fees are $67+ for each action. Per their policy this is not a shop where you can just bring in your own parts, they will require u use their parts. If anything I should have just trusted my gut and told them to cancel the service and put the battery in myself. I would have saved myself a lot of money. But based on other reviews, the community seems to really trust this shop, however just know they can get expensive. If cost is a worry for you, YouTube university or please find another shop.

This business gets ten stars. They are well organized. Prior to working on your car they give you a comprehensive explanation of what’s wrong. I got a print out with pictures. They tell you your options on repair whether it’s worth spending a little bit more or saving for this particular fix they return my car in a timely manner. Also, the management is willing to stay later when you have an issue.
