Took my car for a safety inspection, was told there was one car ahead of me so it might take 1.5-2 hours. After 2 hours I hadn’t heard anything, so I went back and asked and they said he could do it right then and it would be another hour. I couldn’t wait any longer so I’ll have to take it somewhere else… *editing my review to add that what made this difficult was that there was not communication telling me things were running behind. If I had known, I could have taken an Uber home, etc, but since they told me a time they’d be done I chose to wait at a coffee shop and stay nearby. By the time I made my way back to the shop to find out that they hadn’t started at all (and had to even ask someone if they’d be able to start it right then), I couldn’t afford to stay out longer to wait. It would have been a different story if they had told me right away that it would be three hours, or if they’d called me an hour in to update me that it would be longer than they expected. I came back after the two hours to find that nothing had been done, and it seemed like they weren’t even ready to start it yet until I showed up. *editing again: Honestly, the whole experience has been made worse by the owner repeatedly responding to my review, saying I left a thoughtless review, and acting like I’m unreasonable for being upset about the service I received, when they could have just apologized. I’ve thought about this review a LOT. The owner says that I can always call to check the status, which is true. So, I suppose if you hope to make sure you get your car on time, you’d need to keep checking back to make sure there haven’t been any delays, since they don’t call you about that. I’ve never heard of a place that puts it on the customer to keep calling in to find out whether or not they are on schedule for the time they told you they’d be done. I trusted that they gave me an accurate time estimate. An hour longer is a big difference; and they’re telling me it was on me to call them to find out about it. I am still wondering how long it really would have taken if I hadn’t checked back, because they still were not planning to start on my car yet and only bumped it up because I showed up.

The crew work fast, efficiently, and economically. Unlike every other car repair place I've been to, they help me understand in layman's terms what's wrong and how I can avoid this problem in the future. All their repairs come with like a 6 month /12,000 miles guarantee (I may be slightly off about the numbers) and I've never had a problem with their work. They're also flexible with pickup and drop-off of my car. They truly go out of their way for their customers bc they're genuinely kind, good people. Love this shop!

I no longer recommend this garage. Ben Ford, the mobile mechanic, is more trustworthy. I highly recommend calling him instead. He'll come to YOU and his rates are reasonable. I took my car in for AC repair. I did not see that they called (they claimed they did), so I tried calling back every day until someone actually answered the phone. We discuss the issue and price and I tell him I'll pick the car up the next day. The next morning, I get a text saying that they're going to charge me for storage? Why wasn't this mentioned during our conversation? I get there as planned, pay about $250 for freon and walked across the street to get my car. I opened the door and the alarm goes off. I don't have a fob, just a key, and I have no idea what to do. The car won't start- this is a new issue. Long story short, I went back twice for them to look at this alarm issue. I was showed a temporary fix. Last week, after trying the trick for longer than necessary, it was apparent that the car wouldn't start. I was late for work, and my kid late for school. So I call again! They told me... 1. This was already an issue. BS... they had to show me how to fix it. How would I have driven it there if this was an issue I didn't know how to fix? 2. They didn't touch the car. Then why was I charged money?? How'd it get across the street? 3. Contact whoever put the alarm in. 😒 It's not an after market addition so... Now I'm pissed because my life has been made more difficult by someone who won't take accountability. I contact a mobile mechanic, Ben Ford, and he found out what went wrong and fixed it in under an hour! It was just a disconnected wire, he thinks someone swiped it by accident while stepping on the clutch. He charged me 120, and Hampden Auto should be grateful it wasn't enough to sue them. I'll ✨️never✨️ be back, but I'm grateful this experience led me to Ben Ford. 😊

Once again Hampden Tires & Auto has been awesome to work with. Our van was overheating and they were able to find the issue ( a bad thermostat and relay) and fix our car expertly and affordably!! In one day as well! They are always professional, knowledgeable, never take advantage of us and a pleasure to deal with. Been going to them for the past 10 years, and we will continue to do so. Thank you again!!

The staff here are always able to help in a pinch. I had a flat the other day and got it looked over and patched within a half hour. They have lightly used tires you can buy if you have an irreparable tire or if you just need some newish tires and want to save some $. They're the best neighborhood auto place in my opinion.

I've used Hampden Auto twice for tire repairs. Both times I got great service and quick work! First visit was for a slow leak the dealership couldn't diagnose that turned out to be corrosion in the rim; they fixed the issue quickly and I haven't had an issue since! Second visit was for a nail in my tire, they fixed that and checked for corrosion on that tire. In and out in 20 minutes, will continue to use them for car service.

This place saved my day. Fixed 2 nails in the tire in about 20 minutes of wait time. Very reasonable price to do so and very professional service. Thanks Jaquan! You are the man.

I famously manage to run over any construction debris on the road at least once a year, and with a vehicle that has all-wheel drive, the cost of 4 new tires could be financially crippling. Hampden Tire had never failed to provide quality, lower cost options (along with more standard fare) and even more convenient service and wait times. (Last time, they got me in 3 days faster than any of the box chain stores.) They're incredibly courteous and professional. Would recommend them 100% without hesitation.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fix for Screw in a tire ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Customer service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Efficiently addressing my problem My front passenger tire picked up a screw at some point before yesterday and I noticed a weird sound when I started driving to work. My wife noticed it too. No sensors were going off on the dash, but I could hear it as I drove. Once I got to work, I discovered the screw. It didn't seem to be making the tire flat as I drove it throughout the day. I thought I would have to take it to my dealership to fix it because they're the only place I've trusted. I told my neighbor about it and he recommended these guys because they were close and had done well with his tire fixes. So I let it sit overnight and when I got in this morning, the sensor was activated, although the tire looked fine. I drove the few blocks to the tire shop. The owner was on the phone, so I waited for him to finish, and he asked, "What can I help you with?" I informed him of the screw in my tire and he was a little concerned because he said his tire guy was off today. But then he asked which tire. I told him it was my front passenger and he seemed more confident. He asked me to pull up and turn the tire until he saw the screw. He went and got his tools to pull it out and plug it up. Then he filled the tire with air. This all happened in about 3 minutes, and definitely no more than 5 minutes. I was blown away at how quickly he paused on what he was doing to help me. And all for only $29. Whether that was too much or too little, I don't know, but I am so grateful for how it was done.

I ran over a nail and had a small leak in my tire. Called them up and they told me to swing by in the afternoon. One of the guys there pulled my tire off, plugged it, and popped it back on within 20 minutes and I paid $30. Never going anywhere else again! Speedy, good quality, and fair prices. As a bonus to how good they are, someone pulled up while I was there who’s tire just exploded after hitting a curb, and they helped her put on her spare without any fuss on what was already a seemingly busy (and hot) afternoon. 10/10.

So thankful to have this place in the neighborhood. Been there multiple times for flat tires - if they can help you out right then and there, they will. Prices are fair and work is great. Love the owner, too. Great guy.

Great experience and price! I heard about this place's reputation and called when I noticed a leak in one of my tires. They said to come in whenever, and once I got there it took 25–30 minutes tops. There were three nails in my tire and only one punctured all the way through. The guy took them all out and patched the one. It was $29, plus a tip. Definitely would go there again!

Had these crooks do an inspection on a new vehicle that I got on the 7th of this month from another state, got it from a dealer Acura that was already inspected however I park my car don’t drive no more that day, I got out the next day and look down underneath my driver side has black oil under my car, here we go. I was told to go wait somewhere else because they didn’t have air, but where I went I can see them they couldn’t see me, the skinny white dude with the glasses was standing guard standing in back of my vehicle looking side to side not know I can see them, long story short he failed the inspection because the car was already tinted and he said he wouldn’t charge me that he would remove the tints, Acura told me to bring it back if the tints was the problem, I told him that. I get there and he ask me if I paid yet after telling he wouldn’t charge me since there was no work done. My car is under warranty and I’m taking my vehicle back to Acura and have them look at it and they will be able to tell me what he done to my car because now my car rattles when I’m driving it like it don’t have no oil in it. I haven’t even had the car a month yet. My advice to people if you choose to use these crooks and you are a woman to make sure you take a man with you that don’t play no games because they think it’s OK to rob you of $125 and then mess your car up. I Will not be stopping here I will be contacting other entities to even have these people shut down for robbing the community cause I’m sure I’m not the first person they just came across the right person cause I’m not that one I got time today.

Hampden tire was recommended to me by a friend and I see why now. They have always been very fair in their assessment and pricing. I have never had them look for extra work for my car, even when we thought it needed more. The owner even has a sign outside about how his business is built on trust. What a nice company! Would recommend for anything tire related.

I got a flat tire Monday evening and they were able to fit me in on their busy Tuesday morning. Jaquan was able to get me a used tire for a good price and I was out in under an hour! I needed new tires and they ordered the tires next day delivery. I was able to come in the next day and service was fast. The employees, Jaquan and Corey, explained what I needed and gave me the quote for the tires, wheel alignment, and labor ahead of time, so nothing was a surprise. Would definitely recommend their services!

I took my old Honda here to do my Maryland State Safety Inspection. It turns out I needed a good amount of work done…at first I was surprised since it seemed to have been running just fine. But they just finished it up today and I drove it home…I cannot believe how much better it is running! So much quieter, smoother, and clearly in much better shape. They also replaced my steering wheel with a leather one, it was nicer than my old one for sure. So, five stars, it was a good experience and my car is running great.
