This guy and his son are shady and dishonest. Took my car to him for repairs. He charged us 1500 more than his "estimate" he painted half of the car.. In a different color! He dumped my car off at tire world and left it there for 2 weeks. A friend saw my car there and alerted me to it. Not knowing I already knew where my car was.. he refused to admit he left it at tire world. He left a vm on my phone telling me about additional charges and advised if we disputed it he would place a 5000 lien on the car for what was supposed to be 2000 dollars worth of work.. Then tried to tell me he was gonna charge for "storage" his backyard is his shop.. There is no storage! If you value your money and your vehicle do not take it to thess clowns

Sal had treated me with the highest of quality (and above and beyond that what I would have expected from anyone else). I came in with a crumpled fender and a bashed in door, and he gave me by far the lowest rate to repair the two and to have them repainted. When I got my car back, everything was repaired, even the marks in which were not in relation towards the accident I had been in were cleared up. The car looked just as it had when I bought it from the factory. I am very very very happy with doing business with Sal, and I plan on doing so again if need be in the future. I really recommend choosing his shop to go to if you are living in or around Merced.

SCAM!!!! At first everything was great. I was able to call an agree on price and was told he has 26yrs experience painting. Our part was ordered from the dealership which already came primed and in a special bag not cheap plastic wrap either. I was informed he would paint it with the same color as well as put a clear coat, polish make it nice 100%. Once it was picked up he informed us we had to buff it and polish it our selves also the bag was not returned because no one asked for it. That was not part of the arrangement, the paint has runs and dark spots. I called back to voice our concerns, an again nice at first, he was willing to “fix it” but once I mention that we did NOT want any more services and would like the bag returned (put a deposit for the bag from dealer)nothing but attitude, saying we don’t know what we are talking about and how he threw away the bag that we were trying to scam him. Never again.

I have nothing but great reviews to give this shop for their excellent service. I went in to get my car fixed after a car collision. From day one, Sal greeted me with the most cordial and kind attention. He explained to me very clearly the process of fixing my car from the start and made it clear that safety is also a priority. He was very communicative through the whole process. I was amazed at what a great job his team did. My car rides beautifully and it looks great! The job was amazingly done in a short period of time, which I greatly appreciate. Sal was very attentive and friendly. The paint job on my car is simply outstanding! They not only fixed my car, but they gave it a great cleaning. The whole experience was such a smooth transition. Excellent work guys! I am definitely going to refer their services to others because this company deserves it.

Being new to the area, I checked 3 other Auto Body shops before I took my Chrysler to Sal & Son's. GREAT decision! I had also checked with my Cousin that was born and raised in Merced. My cousin had nothing but praise for Sal. My vehicle was backed into by an SUV 4x4, so the passenger door was toast. The side mirror didn't fare so well either. I have seen other repairs where the paint didn't blend or match the rest of the vehicle, I was worried. Sal put my fears to rest on day one. Not only did he deal with the not-so-helpful insurance company, but he explained to us just what needed to be done to make our Burgundy Chrysler all pretty again. When we picked up our vehicle today I was pleased beyond words. The whole passenger side matched in color without seeing where it was blended at all! Even though this was an insurance claim, he didn't try and stick it to the insurance company. His price was fair, the workmanship was excellent, and he didn't drag out the repair time. Sal kept us informed from start to finish on the progress with parts and paint etc. Thank you Sal for a job well done! You don't get many people that believe that a handshake is their bond. If the handshake comes from Sal, you can take it to the bank! Sal has my business and recommendations for life.

I had Sal N Sons paint my 01' S10 a few years ago. I didn't think to take before pictures but I can tell you that I was very pleased with the quality of their work. So much so that I gave each of his sons that worked on my vehicle a $100 bonus. Since then the paint has seen some wear and tear. I noticed a rock chip that was getting worse. Having done a great job before, I took my truck back to touch up the hood where the chip was. I also had them spray a bed liner onto my vehicle much like that of LineX. I also had them change the pins on the driver's side door as it started to hang. I can tell you that I am most pleased with the work. Sal even found a hood croll piece that was missing since I've had the vehicle. Outstanding! The way I did business with Sal; I went down to talk to Sal to get a quote. I agreed to the quote and was under the understanding that it could change. It did, slightly. We picked a date to start at which time I made a down payment of about $150. About a week later my truck was done at which time I paid for the work in full. We did a walk around. This would be the time to bring up any quality of work concerns. I didn't have any concerns on any of the work that was specified to be done. I may go back for touch up work after the paint and spray on liner cure. I am a disabled veteran honorably discharged. I would recommend Sal N Sons to anyone wanting a great paint job but without the Big body shop prices. He's local, fair and reasonably priced. 5 stars!

Sal and Sons painted some panels for my van (the things with the sliding windows in them in the photos). It was a tricky job as the panels were fiberglass gel coated but the end result looked incredible. They didn't just match the paint code for but did an exact color match for my van. I also needed a set of rear door hinges and Sal was kind enough to paint those free of charge. Sals an honest guy who will give you a very reasonable quote. I'll definitely go back with any other needs I have.

My husband first went to Sal's a few years ago to have our Corvette painted and Sal did a great job on it and at a real good price. We just took our van to have some paint work and again he did a great job on it and gave us a really good discount. Sal has a good crew, clean, big shop and delivers on time. We strongly recommend him for all your paint and body work needs.
