I just moved to San Antonio and drove my car from Los Angeles. I asked Sanford to do a full inspection and let me know any/all work that was needed. To my amazement, all I needed was a new tail-light and some work on my rear brakes. The price was great, the work was done the next day, and Ron delivered amazing customer service. I have used Sanford Auto Team for several services on my 2016 Chevy Traverse. I have just over 180K miles on my car. I really like this vehicle! I was thinking about getting a new car but now is not the time, they are too expensive and hard to get exactly what you want in a car. I had a few service issues and discussed them with Tracy.He gave me an estimare and he helped me determine to fix the issues and wait on a new car purchase. He also said he would inspect and let me know if any other issues show that could change my mind. Nothing else was needed. Repairs done as estimated. I can't effectively express how impressed I am with Sanford Auto Service. I took my vehicle in for a second opinion on a repair and they came in minimally higher than a national competitor. After presenting the estimate to them, they worked with me and provided a revised estimate that was less than the competitor. They could have easily matched it but went even further to gain my business...needless to say, I opted to go with them. They did a great job on my vehicle and communicated every step of the way. Not once did I feel like I couldn't trust them. Post repair, the owner contacted me to followup on the level of service that I received and wanted to make sure that everything was working properly. In addition to that followup, he contacted me once more (several weeks later) to check again. I believe in their integrity and willingness to do the right thing. They did a great job in gaining my trust - and as a result, I highly recommend them. Great job Sanford Auto Service and thank you for taking such great care of me and my car!

The company I work for uses Sanford Auto Service for fleet services and has always been very pleased with the work performed. When I needed work done on my personal vehicle I called and spoke with Steve and received a prompt estimate. I scheduled an appointment and dropped off my vehicle before work that morning. Steve called me shortly after to let me know that not all the work we discussed was in fact needed. He gave me new pricing and I gave the approval to do the work. My vehicle was ready that afternoon and it was incredible how much better my vehicle handled. Everyone was very courteous and professional and the pricing was very competitive. I would definitely recommend Sanford Auto to my friends and family and will take my car back if I need additional services.

Finally found a car repair shop we can trust! Took in our older, high mileage Ford van due to some steering issues, they were very honest about what the minor issue was and that it didn’t need work done. Even though they took time to check it out twice, they didn’t charge us for it. Will definitely use them when it does need work in the future!

I've been a loyal customer for 7 years with three vehicles only to be extorted for an extremely amount of money to change door handles and add w4 to the track of my sliding door. I had asked for an estimate before giving my car which I was told no estimate could be provided. I had asked again for an estimate not to hold them accountable but to get a rough idea. I was advised no estimate could be given because I've been a loyal customer for 7 years. I did give the keys to the auto shop only to be told 2 hrs later. that is going to cost $900 which I respectively declined. Then was told it was going to cost $125 just for the diagnostics. It would have been informative information to give the customer what it would have cost for diagnostics because I might have just declined up front or even what parts could be used and the cost of those. Unfortunately the manager could not see through the forest, especially with me being a repeat customer continue to go back and forth with me until he decided to just for me to pick up the car. He did apologize upon picking up the car which I thanked him. Unfortunately, this whole situation could have been handled differently by simply just telling me that an approximate estimate of the diagnostic that it could cost. Take your car at your own risk

Fantastic. A quicky oil change place was supposed to replace my differential fluid and it seems they drained it but did not replace it. My diff was soon destroyed and I was stuck without a vehicle until Sanford repaired the truck much quicker than the dealership could do it and for a much better price. The owner was straightforward with me and the mechanic clearly cared about doing good work. I would trust my truck with Sanford Auto Service anytime. 5 Stars!

Honest, fast, and helpful in a bind is how I would describe Sandford Auto Service! NOTE: They are a little tricky to find. Look for the blue and white Culpepper Cleaners sign (Sanford Auto Service is below on the same sign). There are two turn-ins for Culpepper. You want to turn in just below the sign and go straight down the little side alley. Sandford Auto Service is literally right behind Culppers to the right of this alley. My car had trouble starting up the day I was meant to make a trip to Austin. I originally took it to an Autozone and confirmed the battery was dead, so replaced it. But once the new battery was in, it turned on, then shut off a few times in a row, which was unexpected. The Autozone bloke thought the alternator might be bad. This put me in a bind as I didn't want to drive to Austin with the potential for breakdown once there. The regular dealer I go to for service didn't have an opening until Monday morning. I searched for Toyota repair and Sandford Auto Service came up. Tracy answered the phone and when I asked if there were any way to be seen and repaired that same day (this was early afternoon already), he surprised me by telling me, yes, he could get me seen today and would ensure I'd be done before end of day. Wow! I made it over to them. Turns out, my alternator and cables were fine, along with the battery (Tracy even showed me the read-out). Possible it just wasn't seated fully or the anti-corrosion goo got on the contact points, no idea! But with that reassurance, I felt confident to make the trip. When I asked what the diagnostic fee would be, Tracy told me it wouldn't be right to accept payment and just told me to bring it back if I had further issues. Double wow! The real amazing part though, is the next morning, Tracy gave me a phone call to make sure I still wasn't having any issues and that I made it to Austin. Talk about quality of service! Can't thank you enough, Tracy, for helping me last minute and showing such thoughtful care! It's great to know I've got a good place to go other than the dealership for any car issues.

I can’t say enough good things about Sanford Auto Service. My 2013 Ford F-150 EcoBoost has had issues since I bought it, and I’ve taken it to multiple shops over the years. It would run well at times, but never truly great—until now. When my timing chain went out, I brought it here for a full tune-up. While it was a big repair, they worked with me on the price, which I really appreciated. The result? My truck has NEVER run better. It’s been three weeks, and I’ve put it through the test—out-of-town trips, towing, 4WD—and it’s handled everything flawlessly. This is the best it has ever driven. From Tracy in the front office to the mechanics in the back (wish I remembered their names!), everyone was honest, transparent, and dedicated to quality work. I’ve also brought my Tahoe here for some repairs, and that experience was great as well. But the work they did on my F-150 was major, and I couldn’t be more pleased. If you’re looking for a trustworthy and skilled mechanic in San Antonio, this is the place.

My 2019 hyundai had been giving me soo many issues, I took it here and they gave me a great price on an inspection (100) and were able to inspect my car, fix it, and have it back to me in the same day!!! The prices were super reasonable I felt they were very honest. My 2012 F-150 Eco-boost hit 250,000 mi this month. It's been a relief more than once knowing I could trust Sanford Auto and Mr. Tracy to take care of us over all these years when we needed it. One more comment my mileage has actually gotten better this year. I just realized writing this, maybe my foot isn't as heavy as it used to be. Haha
