Rich is extremely meticulous and knowledgeable. Definitely the best shop in Santa Cruz. The suspension services are as good as any in the entire country. They have a great many peers in stock and can get anything immediately if not in stock. He’s the man. Even looks like a younger DeCoster.

I first met Rich about 12 years ago when I brought my bike to him for a complete suspension re-valve/ re-spring . He was highly recommended by a friend who raced for several years. When I got my bike back is was unreal what a difference it made. Quick turnaround too. I took some time off from riding. Then last year decided to do a rebuild on a 96 cr250. Rich is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to vintage bikes. He got me every hard to find part from his sources around the world. Anything I needed he found. He also gave me advice on how to approach certain aspects of the rebuild. He built some beautiful custom wheels for my bike, rebuilt the suspension, powder coated/cerikoted all the parts, and built the motor. You also can’t beat his prices.

If you want the best, look no further! Rich has been "my suspension guy" for over 5 years and I'm always impressed with his professionalism, service quality, and turnaround. He is always asking me for feedback on my KTM XC-W, and honestly my bike has never felt better with over 200+ hours valved to the woods riding I enjoy best. He is super easy to work with, stocks the essentials, and can get you parts & tools fast. I would not take my dirt bike or adventure bike to anyone else. Highly recommended!

I originally called to see about getting a chain shortened and rather than charging me for the labor when it’s quick he wanted to sell me the tool so I could save money. Rich is a very helpful and friendly guy! You can tell just by talking with him that he is truly concerned for the health and well-being of your motorcycle. He has talked me out of cutting some corners and I'm glad he did. His shop is in the back of his house and it's well equipped with pro level tools and lots of small parts and inventory. Surprising to find a legit motorcycle shop tucked away in a Santa Cruz neighborhood. Highly recommend for service and consumables like oil and tires.

Rich is a knowledgeable, patient, and pleasant guy to deal with and I'm looking forward to finding more excuses to work with him. I called him about re-valving and re-springing the somewhat obscure/antiquated suspension from my 2007 Husqvarna TE 250. He happily took the job on and squeezed me into his lineup to get the work done. I had a million questions and he patiently took the time to explain complex terms and concepts in a way that I could understand. Between his expert knowledge, immaculate shop, and kind demeanor, I had the utmost confidence in Rich handling the job. After I got the forks and shock back, I put the bike back together and took it to him for initial sag and damping setup—a service that's included with the level of suspension work I had him do. Not only did he get the setup just right, but he took the time to look over the bike and make suggestions to further improve the bike's handling and ergonomics. Santa Cruz is a bit of a hike from Santa Clara, but as a rather meticulous person, it's hard to find trustworthy folks who put the same level of care and attention into their work as I would if I could. The industry needs more folks like Rich.
