I was disappointed with the quotes I had and they were out a week before they could even start. I was referred to Tracy Schmidt and was told they could start right on it. In May I was taking a load of old paint to the dump and my sister decided to throw in a 2 gallon gas container on top of the paint cans. I was driving our beloved 2014 FJ Cruiser. I hit a bump on the way to the dump and the gas container tipped over and spilled at least a gallon of gas onto the back seats and floor. After paying hundreds of dollars to get the FJ detailed, it was obvious the smell was not going away. I got on Google to see if there were any suggestions. I tried everything. I decided I needed professional help. I went to a body shop I had been to in the past and they shook their heads and said it would be $6,000. I was crying hysterically when I left because my son was coming home from NYC in 10 days with his bride to take a trip around the western states for 3 weeks. His wife is from Australia. I was driving south on 300 West when I saw Schmidt Body & Paint. I thought, what the heck. I went in and talked to Rick Asay. Rick explained that I would need to replace both seats in the back and the flooring. Oh no! He immediately got online, located two back seats and flooring. The seats arrived from Jacksonville. FL. After the seats arrived, I left my car, planning on it taking a week or two, missing the date my son was arriving. They finished it in TWO DAYS! IT ONLY COST $2,000! Just in time for my son's special trip! Rick took a picture of what the car looked like after they removed EVERYTHING to power wash it and make sure they got rid of the gasoline smell. A MIRACLE! This company has been around a long time. Because of things that have been shared with me in the past I had the opinion that they were probably a very high-priced establishment for body and paint services. I WAS SURPRISED it was JUST OPPOSITE! Their prices are very reasonable. The quality of their work is exceptional, they are willing to work with customers in any way that is practical, and the employees are the best I've ever met in this type of business. I can't say enough good about Karl Schmidt and his team. I would recommend them highly. I THINK THAT THEY DESERVE 6 Stars. My 3 separate experiences were that. The 6 stars they deserve. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I am very, very, particular about my vehicles. Because of the sun, my paint was starting to peel off of my hood on my truck. I researched every auto body and paint company that was out there and found that Schmidts had the best reviews of all. I walked in one morning ,not in a very good mood ,and I met Rick ,and he immediately started joking around with me which put me at ease. I left my truck ,and Isaiah and the other gentleman that worked on my truck. Did an A+ job ,the color matches perfectly And it looks just awesome. I would take everything that I own to these guys if I ever need it.

I called ahead to make an appointment. I believe they said they don't do appointments, and I just need to show up in person to get a quote. (Just a sedan that needs a few nicks and dents repaired and a paint job.) Okay, fine. I know it's not their fault, but the absolutely asinine levels of construction and traffic in this area a few months back (maybe longer) made me too frustrated to even attempt to pull into their parking lot the first 2 times I drove to the area. I drove down there 3 separate times until I finally was able to maneuver into their super-packed parking lot and miraculously found a place to park. I walk in, and I'm "greeted" by an extremely nonchalant, borderline-annoyed/disgusted dude who just tells me in a monotone and bored voice that the owner is out of town until a day or two later, and there's nothing they can do for me. Just turned me away. Uh...okay? Maybe offering to schedule an appointment (which they don't do, I guess) or at least a semi-enthusiastic apology would have been nice. Yeah, okay. Can't believe I made 3 hectic traffic-filled trips to this place just to be immediately turned away under a disastrous display of "customer service".

I used these guys to get a back bumper redone on my 4runner. They were better than I could of imagined. Not only did they get everything done in a timely fashion but they did it at a reasonable price. They didn’t even try and up the quote which always happens. The paint work they did was great too. They even went above and beyond a fixed a couple small things on my truck which was a pleasant surprise. Highly suggest these guys, I won’t be going anywhere but Schmidt for any body work in the future, and I told my boss at work to start using them for our fleet of truck. Would give 10 stars if I could.

We have used these guys for a few years now and the paint quality and talent of the guys has been great. However I would never recommend anyone using them if you want good communication and service. Recently I reach out to Tracy to get quotes to paint 5 of our business trucks, anticipating that it would take some time. I gave them 3 months lead time asking for quotes and designs and they did not deliver. They notoriously say let me look into that and get back to you and I NEVER get a call back. It always has to be me reaching out to them again after many days or weeks of waiting. I understand being busy and having a lot going on as I am a business owner myself, but I always strive to have good communication, set good expectations, and under promise and over deliver. But Schmidt has done none of that for me.

Outstanding service!!!! Jack is a amazing man who not only gave me outstanding service for my trunk repair and painting he REFUNDED me money when I over paid. This company is highly respectful and have outstanding morals unlike some other sleazy repair shops. I will always recommend Schmidt body and paint and will always come here when I need my car serviced!!!! We were in a pinch with our converted sprinter van and Rick & Co. at Schmidt saved the day. We needed the windshield frame rust removed to replace the windshield. They did both for a fair price. They even squeezed us in despite a tight schedule, and delivered the work on time. They were really easy to communicate with and friendly. The work was high-quality too. We'll definitely be returning here for future body work. They were outstanding and I'd highly recommend them!

I had to get the rear tailgate on my VW Golf replaced and got quotes from several shops with Schmidt being the cheapest initial quote of all of them (Not by a ton but still). On top of that they went out of their way to find me a salvaged tailgate which saved me about another 1500$ which effectively halved the price of the repair. Really my only complaint was communication which is mostly on me because I'm not great at picking up phone calls, but if they had the option for text communication that would be really great. Otherwise I had an excellent experience with these folks and I'd be happy to work with them again!
