I got luck today! I found a clean and honest auto repair shop. Pete was very clear about what was wrong and what I needed to do. He even prioritized it and explained what should be done and what could happen if I prolonged the work. He gave me the option and his advise. His advise to me was that the work needed to be done on my car was better spent on a new car. That it would not last very long and for me to save the headache! HONESTY! This is my first time going to SCV Auto Repair! This definitely will not be my last. Pete was honest from the jump, he informed me that he would look at the car to see if the issues I was seeing were the only problems. I left it with him and in less than an hour later he called me telling me what the problem was, what the cost was with different options on parts and gave me a timeframe it would be done. He later called me and told me that the car had a bigger issue than expected and I should get it looked at by the dealer and his fixes wouldn't even matter. You don't find a guy who puts his customers before him and his business anymore! He is truly a one in a million! Thank you sir!

The owner of this shop and his team are great, Pete is truly a good person with good values and he is looking out for the customer. Pete gave me recommendations that saved me a lot of money on my car. Him and his team of professionals went above and beyond helping me get my car safe, drivable, and able to pass the smog test. I went there after getting a check engine light and his test seemed to be the most affordable option while also having stellar reviews. He was patient and helpful and once I was ready to do the repairs his team did the work quickly and was thorough pointing out a safety issue with one of the wheels. I had a great experience there and highly recommend this shop.

I've been meaning to write a glowing review since last fall. I cannot recommend Pete @SCV enough. Last fall, my daughter's car broke down with what appeared to be an alternator failure. Since we did not have a trusted local repair shop in the SC area, we took it to the local dealer. After they listed a litany of urgent issues (not one of which was the alternator) we balked and towed it to Pete's place. He diagnosed the alternator failure, fixed it super quick for a great price, and the car has been working perfectly since. Take your car to SCV! Pete will treat you right.

I’ve only had them change my oil & oil filter but they did it for a fair price (half as much as my brother-in-law paid) and of course they looked over my brakes told me I’m going to need them soon and gave me an estimate to do so. I’ll let you know more when I have more work done but so far I trust them. Update I had them replace my brakes and felt I can trust Pete because he only replaced necessary parts like the front rotors and not the back, all pads, packed bearings, etc… He also replaced/repaired a transmission sensor which triggered a warning light on my dash board. All in all they do great work while making you feel comfortable/confident that they are taking care of you!!

I came in to get a noise diagnosed in my wheels. Instead of diagnosing the noise, he said I needed the brakes replaced. I replaced the brakes and rotors because they were low, but the noise was still there. I went back again, but they said it was actually the rear wheels, and asked for $80 to come back in to check those. I was disappointed by this, and left a 3-star review on Yelp describing the experience in full detail. I felt the service was fine, but I was disappointed that they didn't solve the issue I brought the car in to have repaired in the first place. However, after I left the review on Yelp, the owner responded with a very long reply, blaming me for not knowing which wheel the noise was coming from, and getting upset saying they already did everything correctly. I would have appreciated a simple "Sorry we couldn't fix this, but good luck." As a result, I updated my review from 3-stars to 1-star. Ultimately, they did not solve the problem I brought the car in for in the first place.

Fantastic experience with Pete and the crew at SCV Auto Repairs. I grew up in a small town where the local mechanic was everyone's friend and you knew that you could always trust him. That was how I felt working with Pete. He is so knowledgeable and experienced that he could just listen to my car engine and know what was most likely wrong with it. But what impressed me more was that he tried to save me money by addressing the most inexpensive solutions first and then progressed from there. Who else does that in LA. Amazing!! From now I will trust Pete with all my auto servicing and repairs because he is more than my mechanic. He is my friend!

Finally found a mechanic I can trust, and I can’t stress that enough. There’s now been two times where I’ve gone to these guys and they’ve fixed small issues that didn’t require new parts without even charging me for their time. They also repaired the suspension on my Yukon at 2/3 the price my old mechanic was asking for it and it drives amazingly now. Pete is a super kind and super fair guy. I cannot recommend this shop enough. Finding a good mechanic is hard, finding a good mechanic who is honest and only recommends what is needed is even harder. Let me save you the time. SCV Auto Repairs not only does great work, Pete also is the most trustworthy mechanic I have met. We had an electrical issue in our Explorer that other mechanics want $1,000+ just as an estimate. He did it for a small fraction of the cost. Turns out it was just a loose wire that needed to be reconnected while others wanted to replace the whole harness. Pete is very knowledgeable about many makes and models and can also help you plan out maintenance and repairs to work with your budget. If I could give more than 5-Stars I would!
