I had nothing but a wonderful experience. I dropped my vehicle off on my way to work for tires, alignment and a new headlight and it was done by lunch. Adam called when he noticed I was getting close to needing an oil change and was very kind in asking if I would like to have them take care of it or if I'd like to wait. My family has been coming here for years! One of the mechanics took over when the previous owner retired. They have gone above and beyond in customer service! I don't understand the one single negative reviews, but there must be more to that story than the person states. The owner of this fine establishment along with his wife strive to keep their customers satisfied. They have gone above and beyond on numerous occasions in order to do the right thing for the customer. The ownership takes great pride in what they do. Their professional technicians are extremely knowledgeable and qualified to perform their job duties. This facility has a high standard for their technicians and only the best are retained. I have seen many Auto repair shops, and to say that this one is top notch is an understatement. Continue doing what you're doing, Shoemakers Garage. There's a good reason that you've been a staple in the community for so many years.

These guys have serviced my Mom's car for better than 20 years. Had to recently put my Mom in a nursing home, and needed to get Mom's car serviced one last time before I put it up for sale. When I came to pick the car up Gary asked about my Mom and was genuinely concerned about her. They not only offer top notch service and repairs, they make you feel like you are part of their family.

I brought my car in for computer issues that were affecting the engine. Out of three mechanics he was the one to figure out what was going on. He end up charging me lower than the estimate because it was easier than anticipated. Also, as a young woman I felt like I was dealing with a very honest business. I figured he must have daughters because he explained to be in detail the repairs I needed and even after I moved across the state he told me to feel free to call if I was unsure about an estimate from another mechanic and he’d let me know if it was fair or not. Very professional and kind shop owner.

Desperately called 12/20/19 after my car was violently shaking and felt super unsafe to drive. They was busy but told me if I could bring it over they would do their best to fit it in, prior to Xmas. Everyone I spoke to was extremely polite and understanding as well as professional. They assessed my car and told me what needed to be done and what was recommended. There was no pressure to have them fix everything and I ended up having them fix the stuff I could afford leaving some minor stuff to be changed by myself to save money. The pricing seemed very reasonable and compared to other places was significantly cheaper. They had my car fixed over the weekend and I'm extremely happy with results. Will definitely be using for all future auto needs definitely going to be my go to shop. Recommened. Thanks a bunch guys

Shoemaker's Garage did a great job on my car. I needed significant work to it that I thought would cost an arm and two legs. Ed was very helpful and clear of my options. They were able to get my car in quickly and perform my repairs. I have since used them 3 more times and have ZERO complaints and only praise to give. I have noticed something in common with most reviews of repair places that are negative. The reviewer never mentions how the treat others at time of service or mention if the took the recommendations offered by professionals. It never hurts to shop around but it is your responsibility to get all the information before you authorize a repair shop to perform work. After the fact you should check out that the work done was agreed upon and completed as explained earlier, if not resolve it like an adult.

After about a year of trying to work with another shop and my car never getting fixed, I decided to try a new place. After reading the other reviews, I ended up here. They were able to finally fix my car, all within a days time! They actually took the time to figure out what the issue was instead of slapping a bandaid on it. It was also reasonably priced, I spent less here than at my prior mechanics for the same work (except Shoemaker actually fixed the problem). I also have to add this tidbit - as a young woman who has dealt with their fair share of being raked over the coals at mechanics, I can confidently say there was none of that here. It was to the point, no run around. My partner also brought her car around for a few odds and ends (maintenance required light, air pressure) and they were so accommodating and helped her on the spot. Thank you, Adam and Scott. I will be back and will be giving plenty of referrals here.

This is an outstanding auto garage. Just moved to Kalamazoo and Shoemakers was recommended to us. Took my daughter's van in for brakes and oil cooler leak. They only do what's needed ( in a good way), don't feed you a line about other things that supposedly need fixing, but they do inspect around the vehicle to catch stuff that the owner needs to know about. This is. new go to car garage. BTW I am 69 and I'm still getting used to the high prices on everything. Car repairs are no exception but they have to support their families after expenses too!

Reposted from my original yelp review: I initially went to Shoemaker's since the mechanic from a recent trip to Toyota for an unrelated service said I had a leaky axel seal so I went to Shoemaker's because they were much closer to my home. Shoemaker's looked at the report then upon further inspection (cleaned under the car, then attempted to drive it around so they can see whether it would leak) found that there was actually no leak at all! They are very thorough in their care for the car and took the time to explain everything to me, they saved me from having to pay for an expensive and unnecessary service I would have had at Toyota. They are incredibly friendly and courteous even offering to drive me home after they found out i was planning on walking in -9 degree weather. I will be back and Shoemaker's will be my go to mechanic. Since then I have continued to use Shoemakers as my go to mechanic for general maintenance. Their prices are very fair and service is quick. They have continued to be professional and courteous. I recommend them highly to everyone!
