I had a nasty accident in January. Turned to this collision center since southern states was where I bought my car. And the job was done exceptionally. Plus I need an oil change, was due for an inspection, and had a recall. They have managed to do it all at once so that I didn’t have to make multiple trips. Excellent service, excellent work, despite the fact of being shorthanded! Chris was just amazing, he made it all super easy, smooth, and worry free. Great job, thank you guys!

I had a great experience. They were going through a transitional period with new management and they were still on top of their game. Car was done in a timely manner and they notified me everytime something would come up.

I had to get my car repaired after being rear-ended. I chose to use Southern States as I had used them in past with no problem. They had my car for over 2 months, would not return my calls and when I finally went to pick my car up the work was shoddy and had to be redone. Fast forward a year and I received an airbag recall notice. I had to use a Subaru dealership and Southern States is the only one close by. I called to make the appointment and someone picked up the phone-no answer-just chewing until I said something. He then basically said what do you want. I decided to drive the extra hour to another dealership-I cannot deal with them ever again.

Great service. The staff was professional, courteous and pleasant. I brought my Maxima in for front bumper repair/replacement. The entire job (including parts ordering and installation, paint matching, etc. was completed and the car returned to me within six (6) days. They did an excellent job and I was very pleased with the results. I would recommend this shop.

The first time I scheduled an appointment with them, they apparently never finished arranging it. When I came in to drop off my car, they had no record of the estimate or appointment. Tyrone took full responsibility and put me on the schedule. It was smooth sailing after that. 6 business days for repairs estimated to take 4 days (reasonable given their apparent volume), final bill was <$100 difference from the estimate. As far as work quality, you'd never know there was anything to repair. There are some scuffs on my passenger door I'm almost certain were not there previously, but I can't prove it.

I don't like to even waste my time with this, but if you need your car worked on, take it ANYWHERE else but here. Betty worked with me the best she could, but the team up there is not going to do best by you. I don't want to get into detail but AVOID this place if you need your car fixed. Caliber Collision would be a better option.

Front bumper damage required new bumper cover. They painted the new bumper red for a burgundy car. Then tried to convince me that it would eventually fade to match. The camera couldn't capture it, but near the hood, the primer can be seen through the paint. They tried to get me to accept this mess and call the job done!!! After complaining I finally got them to agree to paint it again with the right color.

My car ended up here after getting stolen and the man who assisted me made me feel so uncomfortable. He may be the manager, I'm not sure, but his office was towards the front of the building. First, I arrived wearing a Harley-Davidson t-shirt and he made a sexist remark about women on motorcycles to someone he was talking to on the phone in front of me. He also tried to hug me and called me past business hours to tell me a joke because "he knew I was upset."

Came into get a quote for my daughter and everyone was so friendly especially Brent. He explained everything very clearly and when I asked about the process for each spot on my daughter’s car he was very helpful and descriptive. Will definitely be recommending to my friends who have any dents or scratches.

I had a great experience with Southern State Collision. We brought the car in after some damage, and Betty was on top of it from day 1. We worked together and she gave me a VERY FAIR price. The work was performed perfectly, and it looks and blends across the other areas of the car. She kept me informed all the way through the process, delivered the car when she said they would, and I am truly happy we used them. And I am not impressed easily, and Betty and team exceeded my expectations. Also, she was extremely honest in our conversations, which is hard to find... I highly recommend Southern State Collision!!!

They took 5 and a half months to repair a fender bender. When I got it back, they hadn't tightened the hood scoop bolts so they fell off inside the engine. The part fitment was more off than it should have been. Would give one star but they drove the car to my residence as an apology for taking so long, and their receptionist was nice.

Had a great experience recently at the Southern States Collision center of Raleigh. I had a problem with the paint coming off of my white Hyundai, which was something that was covered by warranty. I started the process of getting this fixed at Johnson Hyundai of Apex/Cary. The experience at Johnson Hyundai was abysmal. They submitted the warranty claim to corporate Hyundai, who approved it in about a week. Johnson Hyundai then proceeded to string us along and literally lie to us about their ability to fix the paint on my car. My wife and I called them about three times a month on average for TEN months, each time getting a different excuse as to why they were keeping us waiting, even though the claim had been approved by corporate Hyundai. After TEN months of lying, rudeness to both my wife and I, and hanging up on us mid-call, Johnson Hyundai of Apex/Cary told us that they were unable to do any kind of paint work on our car. They wasted 10 months of our time, and were rude at every step of the process. After finding out that Johnson Hyundai had lied to us and strung us along for 10 months, we went to Southern States Collision Center. The initial experience was extremely smooth, and was night and day after dealing with Johnson Hyundai. Every employee I worked with in the Southern States Collision Center was respectful, efficient, and was able to file a new claim with corporate Hyundai. From start to finish, I think the entire process took about a month for them to inspect the car, file and process the claim, and then actually repaint the affected panels of the car. When I picked the car up, it looked great, and it seems like the paint will stay on this time. It was extremely refreshing to deal with Southern States after being treated like I was a major inconvenience at Johnson Hyundai. I would like to specifically mention Khia, who was the estimator who handled my claim. She was friendly, respectful, and great at her job. This made the whole experience so easy for me. I would highly recommend Southern States Collision Center of Raleigh. Going through them to handle my claim felt like I was on a different planet after dealing with the group at Johnson Hyundai of Apex/Cary, who, to be blunt, had absolutely no idea what they were doing. Thank you to the Southern States Collision Center!

Ths center deserves 0 stars. If you need repairs go anywhere but here. Horrible customer service. Dropped our car off Jan. 6th to be repaired. The job was supposed to take roughly two weeks. We received one update in that time, then the day before the car was supposed to be done my husband called for an update since we had not gotten one. He was told there was a problem with the staff. Apparently the entire collision center staff and manager walked off the job supposedly. On Saturday, we were promised someone would call us Monday morning. No one called. Fast forward a month after dropping off the car, still not finished. Insurance would no longer cover a rental so they gave us a loaner. We were told the car would now be finished mid February. It was not. Finally picked the car up on March 4th, practically two months after dropping it off. The GM is completely unprofessional. He felt that the loaner was compensation for the inconvience even though we wouldn't had needed the loaner if the car had been complete when we were originally told it would be. They claimed they detailed the car, they did not. They constantly left the car unlocked while sitting in the lot. The GM also stated he isn't afraid of social media and bad reviews and that he didn't need to help his staff call customers to explain what was going on because he has people for that. The entire staff has walked out 3x in the last 6 years. I cannot believe the owner of Southern States allows his business to be managed by this GM. I will never return to the dealership again and I will make sure to never reccommend them to anyone. Worst experience ever!

My brand new Genesis GV70 has been at this shop since February. You can't call and get updates because no one answers the phone. My car was left out in the elements for a week with no hood with the fuses exposed to water. The GM doesn't care which was made even more obvious when the entire team left. The one time I've seen my car since it's been there the hood and fenders have orange peel so bad and my drivers door is still messed up. If insurance wasnt paying for my rental and the work to get done...LAWSUIT! 1 month since I was called to say my car was ready. Still don't have my vehicle!

I have nothing but good things to say about the team at Southern States Hyundai Collision Center with their craft and skills. Many of the negative reviews are ridiculous, in my opinion. Betty and her staff absolutely are communicative and accommodating. We all want to be talked to with understanding, but you get what you give and guess some other reviewers were unpleasant. To boot, I emailed the collision center at least 8x and called the shop just as many. Never ONCE was anyone rude, but the contrary, very understanding. They also absolutely send SMS updates 1-2x a week as promised, paint matched perfectly, and work completed on the exact date promised with a few hours to spare. Yes, the wait time is lengthy depending on the work needed, however, well worth it because the end results are gorgeous. I could have gone with a shop that was faster, but I was not willing to chance not receiving OEM replacement parts. I would rather they take 2-3 extra weeks to get the body and paint multi-step process correct than rush it. To boot, they did a lovely exterior clean-up with a wheel shine! I purchased both my and my wife's Elantras at Southern States, got collision repairs completed there, get regular service there, and will do it there again in the future when time for any one of those.

I made the mistake of checking reviews for Southern States Subaru instead of their Collision Center. I wouldn’t recommend them for insurance repairs. After being hit from the side, it didn’t seem like a full inspection was done, they said “insurance probably won’t cover it,” even though insurance said otherwise. The paint looks great, but I left with a bad alignment, (despite having one done a month before). The repair took about a week, and I didn’t push back since I needed my car for work.

I got in an accident where we were trying to not go through insurance. My first impression was great as I had gone to one other autobody shop for a quote and not only were they well under price wise, but they saw damage that the previous place did not. Attention to detail is key! I had the person I got in an accident pay ahead of time since we did not know him and he made much a fuss, Southern States covered any additional cost on my behalf so I wouldn't have to track down the man for money. That was above and beyond customer service. I did have a run in my clear coat when all was said and done but they once again noticed it and let me know to come back so they could repair it free of charge. They ended up repainting my whole bumper! It looks fantastic. I could not be happier with my experience despite the minor bumps in the road. They are detailed, cost effective and care about the customer. That's all you can ask for!

Chose to argue with me about my insurance claim already having a quote, rather than helping me get a quote. Never spoke to this company in my life. How would they know what information my insurance claim already has? Don’t do business with them unless you want to be falsely “proven wrong”

**UPDATE** 8/12/2025 After months and months of trying to get Hyundai Corporate to help. That was a waste of time they do not care about there customers. Even though they gave this collision center a certification to work on Hyundai's they claim no responsibility for the terrible work done or how a customer is treated. I went to another body shop to have the work looked at and to get an estimate for it to be repaired correctly. Well there was stuff I didn't even know that makes this place even worse then I thought. Besides breaking multiple things on my car that were never broken like my window and replacing with an after market window without telling me. They didn't even put in the door seal that goes under the paint. My fuel door sticks because they sprayed too much paint on and there is paint on my windows, and a bunch of other things. The biggest thing that still bothers me is my doors that are not aligned and literally stick out and the fact that the bad job they did literally affects the value of my car that I am stuck with it because I will lose 10k if try to trade. If you don't know what to look for you won't even know this place is seriously cutting corners on there work. The GM lied when he told us he would make things right the only thing he did was send a detail guy to my house like that was going to fix a bad paint job misaligned doors etc. Since no one wants to help me. Filing a complaint with BBB and the AG did nothing. I have never experienced anything like this. Looks like I will need to consult a lawyer for assistance. Worst experience ever. They had my car for over 12 weeks. The shop did additional damage, and they didn't even fix correctly the repair it was brought in for. The GM said he has done everything to make me happy. Ok, sure, maybe if the shop didn't do additional damage and did the repair right. Oh, and how about not letting a mobile detail guy take my car off property to his personal residence for 4 days without my permission and tell hyundai corporate it was at a professional detail center. It was a job that was only supposed to be a week to a week and a half. I was told that they would keep me posted every step of the way that's truly funny. I had to call, and all you get is a full voicemail, or sometimes you are able to leave a message, but don't count on anyone calling you back. Communication even when the replacement took over was extremely limited. The repair was only 2 door panels that were slightly damaged. The workers took off the front of my car, where there was absolutely no damage, but they definitely caused damage. Not only that, they treated my car, which was only 9 mths old when dropped off like a dumpster. They left it outside with no protection against the downpour or snow/ice. My car was dropped off on January 6 and not done until April 1st, which made me past due for my registration, so I had to pay a late fee. The car was picked up on April 2nd. I trusted this place because I purchased 2 cars here, which was my mistake. They have major management issues. Apparently, it's not the 1st time a crew walked off. I guess it's not acceptable to want your car to be repaired correctly and not receive additional damage and to be returned in a timely manner. Also, no a loaner car does not compensate for going through this. I returned the loaner car cleaner then what they gave back to me. I wish I could give zero stars. I pray this does not happen to anyone else. Pictures show how my car was treated and the bad repair. The GM is refusing for the work to be corrected. I say don't walk run from this place. I did report to BBB and the AG and hyundai corporate. Pictures don't lie.

Shout out to Amanda for her top tier customer service. She went above and beyond in every aspect of the job to ensure not only the job was done right, but also to ensure I was happy and well taken care of during a very difficult time of life. I am a hard person to please and they did a great job. In fact, they were the only shop who said they were capable of getting the job done the way I wanted it done. All the other professional stand alone shops said they would have to disassemble the entire front end. Not the case at all. Thanks for the great job and great customer service!
