Thank you Rachel for helping me last Saturday, October 25, 2025 (Saturday) with my Mazda CX30 2023 after having issues with "Malfunction Engine". The cell was found out defective and was replaced with a new one for free because of the warranty. Ms. Rachel is professional in her job and gave me clear picture what will be done with my car. Maintenance schedules were packed that day but she assured me my vehicle will be checked. I was given options also when I can get the car back after checks and repairs are done. Thank you again. Highly recommended service. Great job! BTW I am from Virginia and not from NC and the service was really great. Thank you also to Ben in the sales who showed us where the service center after asking help from him. My vehicle was endorsed to him because the service center closed at 3pm. I got my Mazda CX30 2023 at 6pm totally in good condition. -Highly satisfied customer.

I visited southern states as I wanted to buy a 2026 Mazda 3 select sport. The entire process was wonderful. Scott gave me the best possible deal and was up front with me right from the beginning. On the day of the pickup, Lewis was extremely helpful in making sure the process was smooth. One aspect I definitely appreciated was not being pressed to purchase any add-ons. I just moved to NC from Florida and was looking for a Mazda dealer to continue my maintenance on my new CX-90, and my wife’s older CX-9. Looking around near my work in Raleigh, I found Southern States Mazda, and decided to schedule my maintenance for my CX-90. I read the reviews and saw they had a LOT of bad reviews, but I tend to not always believe those, and prefer to find out for myself. Well, if you don’t want to read this entire thing and just get to the point, I’ll say this: Believe those bad reviews. The service at Southern States Mazda is absolutely horrible! Upon walking in, the person behind the desk just asked my name, then took my keys and told me to wait in the waiting room. He didn’t ask any questions about the car. Ok, I figured they were busy, so I just handed over my keys and go into the waiting room. After an hour, I get the inspection report about the vehicle from the service tech. It’s completely blank!!! After waiting another half hour, I get the recommended additional services, the biggest being a brake fluid flush. The video to show this “proof” was about 3 seconds long, and looked like a Michael Bay action shot. Quick zoom in, quick zoom out, and at an angle that would make any movie producer jealous. After receiving the total with the new services, I notice the oil change was included at full cost. I then went up to the desk to inform them that I had purchased the extended warranty, and full maintenance plan from the dealership in Florida, and there should be no charge for the oil change. They then informed me that it would come off at the end before final check out. After about 10 more minutes, they call me out to say they don’t see a maintenance plan, and because it was not bought at their dealership, they couldn’t find it. I find that funny because I have had my car serviced at other Mazda dealerships that I did not buy it from, and not a single one ever had trouble finding it. Another hour goes by, and the car is ready to go. I pay, and drive off. About halfway home (a 27 mile drive), the oil level light turns on in the car. That is strange I think, but I’ve had cars that right after a service, the service light comes on and you just have to reset it. It was pretty late at this point, so I decided to wait for the engine to cool down, and I would check it in the morning. The next morning, I head out to check the engine oil, and after moving the wadded up paper towels next to the dipstick, I pull it out, and to my surprise, there is no oil…at all! I took my car to a local 10 minute oil change place so they can take a look, and they verified what I thought, there was no oil in the car. I have the local place fill up the oil for me, which they did at absolutely no charge (thank you Strickland Brothers in Clayton!) so I could get to work the next day. On Monday, I called to ask for a refund for the oil change that was never done, or done halfway, and the manager says that he cannot prove there was no oil in it, and that if I brought it back, he could look. I informed him that to keep the car from blowing up, I had oil put in it myself so of course there is oil now. He asked why didn’t I bring it back to them when I noticed, and to be honest, that is a fair question, but it was a 27 mile journey (which I did not want to do without oil in the car), and how could I trust them after what I just went through? Anyway, long story short, I learned a lesson, and will never again ignore the horrible reviews about the terrible service. I’ve been buying new Mazda’s for 14 years, and this has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. I would highly recommend that you stay as far away as possible from this place, as they will just destroy your car and laugh all the way to the bank as they steal your money. I am now going to have to take my car to another Mazda dealership to make sure they didn’t mess anything else up and I’m sitting on a ticking time bomb!

I had a 2018 cx5 for 5 years that I absolutely loved and I regretted ever letting it go. I had been in the market for a 2025 cx5 premium plus for a couple weeks. Southern States Mazda of Raleigh was super helpful, consistent with communication especially being I was an hour away. I chatted with multiple dealerships and let me tell you. Go to SSM! Pat was informative and truly accommodated my every ask of what I was wanting. Abe was phenomenal with being very competent of the vehicle and explaining the new features and allowing me time to check out the vehicle while paperwork was being done. Such a comfortable and easy going experience!

Drama-free car buying experience! We had already narrowed down our car choice to a Mazda due to every other Japanese car company using CVTs in everything and Hyundai/Kia just being too problematic in the last few years. We came buy to test drive a CX-50 and were greeted and set up with a salesperson within a few minutes even on a Saturday. Rish was fantastic and got the same package CX-50 we were wanting out for a test drive. He was super friendly and chill and did not have any of the off-putting car sales vibes that make people not want to go to a dealer. After deciding we wanted it, he communicated with us about when the one we wanted would arrive and Rish and his manager got everything done quickly and easily. We love the car after two weeks with it and had a great experience here overall!
