i gave this shop 3 stars only because the guy gave me time to explain.first thing when i got there he said he cannot see my car because he is busy.second thing he asked me to come back the next day for check up and he will charge me a $85 fee.transmission shops usualy dosent charge unless they find the issue and you agree to fix it with them.never there again.

I brought my vehicle to Star Transmission & general Repair at 1780 E. Tremont Ave, Bronx,NY 10460. I had brought my vehicle there for transmission repairs through warranty and they had fixed the transmission. After driving the vehicle for a couple miles the car started to throw a check engine light and started to shift erratically. It would act as if the vehicle was being thrown into neutral after letting off the gas. I check the Codes and it came back with the code P1730 which is the Automatic Transmission Interlock code. Code states 4 causes - Faulty low coast brake solenoid valve - Low coast brake solenoid valve harness is open or shorted - Low coast brake solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) pressure switch 2 After Looking further into the fix. It was told to meter voltage at the connector for this unit and check for loose wires which of course nothing was looked at. It was also said when this issue arises to swap out the TCM (transmission control module) as well as the transmission fluid temperature sensor 2. Now, once again the transmission was REBUILT by these guys so those pieces had to be removed and now are faulty, but they do not want to cover the problem. Yet they were the only ones to work on the car and the transmission they do not want to fix the problem. I have contacted my warranty company and will get this resolved as well as a small business claims lawyer. Just a heads up for you guys that are looking to use them as a repair shop.

Viji and Kevin are two great guys! However, they lack proper communication skills between themselves. I believe it’s orchestrated to confuse customers! Kevin; “This job will run you close to $3000, at worst $3500!” guess what, a normal transmission rebuilt cost me more than $3600! in all honesty, radiator broke and frame/body nuts bolts are loose and car is breaking apart!
