I had a positive experience with Stress-Free Auto Care. I was having trouble with my car starting - I suspected a battery issue but wasn't exactly sure. I initially booked an appointment for a electrical system inspection, but after a quick initial check of my car, the Service Advisor suggested just opting for a battery replacement. This saved me time & money, since I otherwise would have needed to pay for both the inspection & replacement. I dropped my car off in the morning and took advantage of the courtesy rideshare. In the afternoon, my car was ready to go. During the free multi-point inspection, they found a potential issue but did not pressure me to fix it, which I appreciate. The prices for the replacement battery & labor seemed reasonable. And throughout the process, the service was friendly & informative. I would return in the future.

Brought my truck in before selling for a checkup. The list was long and expensive. Since I never go with the first or one quote, always 3, I took it elsewhere. Most of the items I did NOT need to get fixed. Did NOT. The gentlemen I met up front was great. In the garage? I don’t know what is happening.

I have owned four BMW cars over the past 27 years. I have been using German Motor Specialists as my go to shop which is now Stress-Free Auto. They are excellent in service and quality and I highly recommend the Mountain View Shop. Better customer service and pricing than the dealerships. I now have a BMW 2016 428i Grande Coupe, I only trust their shop for all my maintenance needs. I have been working with Paul over these many years, excellent service advisor!!

Truly stress free. Came for a tire repair - price is exactly what you see on the website and they’ll confirm the cost before starting work. Book online for an additional $10 off. Dropped off the car at 9am, they provided me a free Lyft to where I needed to go (up to $15), and the car was ready at 11:30am. You’ll get an inspection with pictures and updates.

Two days in a row I had to call AAA because my car would not start and I was stranded in a parking lot. The first time AAA charge the battery and said that it was completely dead. I went and bought a new battery. Had it installed by wheel works. The next day in the morning my car battery was dead again. AAA came out and charged the battery for me and I took it to stress-free auto care. Afraid to turn the car off. Brand new battery was drained. Didn’t know if I was having an electrical problem or just what. Stress-free auto care went through my car with a fine tooth comb and did not give up until they found the reason for the problem with the battery. Luckily, it turned out to be a loose cable and corrosion on one of the cables. They took care of that and just to be sure that this was the problem they kept my car overnight to make sure that the battery was fully charged in the morning and that the car did start no problem. I was so grateful to them. Wheel works who I bought the new battery from did not bother to check the cables or even look at them or even see that they were both tight. I paid them a lot of money for a battery that they just threw in my car and didn’t check anything else. Very poor workmanship at wheel works. Don’t go there for anything. I will always remain a loyal customer to stress-free auto care. They are so thorough. I couldn’t even get over that. But what really pushed me over the top with them was the fact that they emailed me throughout the day letting me know the progress that they were making. They told me I could also watch my car being worked on Through a Camera link that they sent so that I could see my car being worked on in the shop. Who does that? Somebody who has nothing to hide would put a camera in there for their customers to be able to watch their cars being worked on if they chose to. These people are awesome. They see to every single detail very respectful very cordial. Very caring about your vehicle. I appreciate them so much. I have told several people about them as soon as I picked up my car. I will never take my car to anyone else ever. You can trust stress-free auto care for the best service

I like how easy it is to make an appointment online, they provide estimates quickly for services online, and the team puts a lot of attention into their service. They provide a full report on what needs to be improved on the vehicle, they provide clarity on questions/concerns, and are fully transparent. They are extremely professional, provide transparent pricing, great and thorough at what they do, were very communicative throughout, and saved me a lot of pain. I had a great experience with Stress Free Auto in Mountain View, especially with the manager, David and the mechanic on site, Manny. I was visiting from out of town when my car broke down right before I needed to drive back to Southern California. I needed my battery terminals replaced quickly so I could get home. I called several other shops and no one was able to see me on such short notice, but this Stress Free Auto location was able to fit me in. David handled everything very professionally and kept me updated throughout the process. When there were delays, he stayed on top of communication and worked with the vendor to make sure the parts arrived as quickly as possible. He went above and beyond to help me out, even staying a bit past his shift to make sure everything was taken care of. I really appreciated his professionalism and follow-through, and I’m very thankful they were able to help me get back on the road. I’d definitely recommend this location if you need reliable and considerate service.

I started with Stress-Free about 3 years ago, after my favorite German car mechanic shop closed. This shop is excellent. The front office staff are as knowledgeable about cars as the mechanics, so the intake write up is always thorough. They keep the customer updated with regular texts about the status of the car. If any issue is discovered during the inspection or repair process, the mechanic sends photos directly to the customer so that you can see for yourself what is occurring. They always give advice and options for what should be done sooner vs what can wait. The whole place is very clean and comfortable, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent.

I really wanted to like this place because of all the positive reviews but I was quoted a different estimate on the phone than what I was told in person when arrived I there. The quote was even higher in person with less services than what I was told on the phone. In person, I was told they charge more for Japanese cars since they’re more tailored to German vehicles. I ended up cancelling my appointment. I really appreciate how they went over everything in detail when I got there & he tried to lower the cost of services for me.. but it was still higher than what was quoted on the phone. I also appreciated how the sales person was honest about services I didn’t need instead of upselling. And that he admitted the cost would be higher since my car is Japanese. I just hope they work on their communication within their workplace, from phone call sales rep to in person sales rep making sure things are aligned for the customer, before the customer arrives. Can’t comment on their work, hence, why I left three stars. But my advise, make sure if you ask for an estimate over the phone have them note it in their system so that the sales person on the day of arrival can have record of that.
