Dropped off on a Sunday and spoke with the mechanic said he could look at it Monday but ok to drop off. Talked with him Monday and said he would have it ready later in the day. There were issues getting the parts and he updated me the whole time. Offered to have it ready that evening. We decided to pick up the next day. Would use this shop again. Very up front about the prices and was good about communicating.

I’m writing this review to let people know to stay away from Garage 33 and this is why. I tried calling them multiple times (11/19/25) to talk to them about a vehicle they recently diagnosed and they never answered but would text back saying they are busy and wanted me to describe everything over text which could be a lot in regards to describing car problems. So I gave them the vin number and they text back saying what they found during their diagnosis and this is where it gets crazy, I asked them to send me the report and they wanted $60! How absurd is that! Never in my life have I been asked to pay for the report of the diagnosis, please stay away.

The heat and air conditioning system in our car was not working so we decided to give Garage 33 a try. He showed up the same day to run a diagnostic which was much appreciated. A $102 fee later, we find out the control panel of the system had gone bad and we needed to order a new one. Before proceeding with the repair and over a text exchange, we ask about the part as well as the contract for work. He was not very forthcoming about the needed part and would not share the part number or price but asked that we trust him to make the needed repair. Upon signing the contract, an upfront payment was also needed for the labor and part. The fee was more than we were expecting BUT we understood that there would be a premium for a traveling mechanic. What was unusual is that we had never before been required to make a payment of labor before a repair had been intimated and tried to see if we could negotiate a payment for this after work had been successfully completed. We did understand payment for the actual part. After some back and forth, we reluctantly decided to proceed with the repair and make a payment for the labor and part. Once the repair was completed, the day after, we noticed that the 12V charging port had stopped working. Maybe it was just a coincidence but we aren’t sure if this was a result of the repair he had previously completed and we did call him back for this new repair to be made. The total cost for this repair was quoted at $80 and once we went to proceed with payment, it showed up as $102 on the payment machine. My husband questioned this amount and the mechanic responded that it was for all the taxes and fees associated with the work BUT if we wanted to pay through the mechanic’s personal Venmo account, we could eliminate all of the fees using a credit card. This sounded good to us and we proceeded to make a Venmo payment. We never signed for the payment on the credit card machine after tapping the credit card and we assumed that this fee would not be processed since we had payed through Venmo. A couple of days later, we saw that the Credit Card had posted that the payment had gone through. We were out $102 in addition to the $80 for this secondary repair. We have tried reaching out to the mechanic and he has told us that he would look into it-meaning the credit card charge. We have not heard anything back in several days and have just filed a dispute with our credit card. Overall, we have been disappointed through most of our car repair process and question the integrity of Garage 33.

EDIT: Jose refunded my payment of the reprogramming service that happened without approval. He was very polite throughout the process. Updating review. Called for mobile diagnostic, he did an “injection reprogramming” without asking my approval and charged me for it. Took him 5 minutes and wanted $120 on top of $90 diagnostic fee. Googled the service he did and apparently you don’t “reprogram” fuel injectors. I felt taken advantage of.

High quality service, great attention to detail, very convenient mobile and in-shop options. Great customer service. Very reliable and fast response times. I had this company do work on a used car I bought recently. Their schedule and communication style was very convenient. They were also very transparent in explaining issues and verifying part numbers with the car's dealership. I would hire this company again in the future.
