The Shop is great! We use them for our company vans, I was recommended to them by the tech who outfitted our event Sprinter who uses the shop for everything that he can't do himself. We recently had to get our 10 year old Chevy in for some fixes, and the guys at Shop were super up front about everything and knocked off labor costs when something didn't take as long as they expected. That's something I've never seen before! True honesty which made me trust every other decision they made. All in all a great experience.

It was time to stop going to the dealership with my 2020 Tacoma as I was fed up with the poor quality of work and lack of accountability from the mechanics or service writers. As an independent business owner myself I focused on finding a local, independent specialist. I checked out many prospective shops through Google and other reviews, and settled on The Shop Automotive as looking solid. It turns out they are! Easy appointment booking; great communications regarding appointment time; an in-depth chat with the owner when I brought in my truck; a full inspection that was unexpected and complimentary; and a thoughtful and detailed explanation of what came up in the inspection, pluses and minuses of addressing the issues, and full disclosure of fees. Oh, and the work I needed done was completed on time and at the rate I was quoted. My Tacoma and I have found an excellent resource for getting many more miles and years together.

Love The Shop! I've been coming here for years, and I'm always impressed by their level of professionalism, honesty, and efficiency in completing repairs. I always feel like they give me the pros/cons of whether to fix something while explaining things clearly. Love being able to book an appointment online as well which is surprisingly rare for mechanic shops.

I can repeat my experience about the service I receive from The Shop as if it were my first visit. Our MB Sprinter now at 128,000 miles prioritizes the function of our life on a daily basis. In other words, everyday we’re make demands of our Sprinter. When talking w/Spence to schedule the type of service I need (believe me they can do it all, a CV boot, brakes, an inner tie rod have been some past items addressed or a 10,000 mi oil change.), it is first that The Shop are listeners. Jason (owner) a master in his skills, before any work begins a 360 degree sight inspection is conducted, a check for any system logged codes, a full explanation of findings or any newly developing issues are clearly discussed. Estimates of cost, prioritization of need and estimates of time-to-complete are set with your approval. Personalization is how it feels and this has not changed over the 5 years of earning my trust in their honest, reliable and consistent service. The work between Jason and Spence is always detail-clear (BTW, -when can you say the last time was that you got to speak to the Pro-tech that serviced your Sprinter?) and time is made to thoroughly answer any question you may have. I have the fullest confidence in The Shop and will remain a Sprinter-life-long customer. (I believe that’s 700,000 mi., right? on the diesel.) The team is larger than whom I’ve spoken of today, I highly recommend The Shop and the team. *** BTW, did you know they garage every vehicle every night inside their doors!

I'm so grateful to have found the Shop Automotive in Boulder - worth the distance coming from Northern New Mexico, where I have no resources besides very expensive and untrustworthy Mercedes dealerships hours South. They helped me repair the broken door to my sprinter and a number of much needed maintenance updates as well, all in 2 full business days. They were great to work with, friendly and helpful, and can get parts in super quickly. I'd definitely go back!

I really like the customer service at The Shop. I came in for something I've done every two years for maintenance at other shops, and they inspected my car and told me I didn't actually need it just yet. So first, I appreciated their honesty. There was *another* maintenance issue that needed to be handled and they gave me a reasonable price for that. I like how they will take a look at your car and let you know what's the most pressing issue, and what can wait, because they know we don't all have thousands of dollars to spend each time we walk in to get our car worked on. We made sure that safety things were handled first and foremost. Also, they went out of their way right before the holiday to help me with an issue that was causing my car to stall when it was idled. When I called and was pretty stressed out, I really appreciated how the person who answered the phone made me feel calm as we came up with a plan. They helped me handle it right away and I'm so thankful. This is a reliable, honest shop and I recommend them for sure.

I had my truck sent in to have a dead alternator/ solenoid repaired. It was towed to the shop on Saturday 4/24 and work began on 5/26. Cormac called me and shared that suspension and other parts were under torqued. I gave permission to do 3 things - alternator replace, torque suspension and ball joints to spec, and complete an engine oil change. I returned from vacation on Sunday 5/2 and had one of my employees pick up my vehicle for drop off at our offices. No issues presented. Today is Thursday May 6th - I left a clients home and received a phone call minutes later that there was a good pool of gear oil in their driveway. Not how I want to leave a clients home. I pulled over immediately to find that my service cover bolt wasn't even hand tight. I took pictures of the vehicle on the wrecker and it's clear to see the cover is dry. This is unacceptable. I was really frustrated with how Cormac spoke to me. Yes I have worked on my vehicle and definitely could do a better job with my upkeep and torquing but it was a complete displeasure to have my vehicle serviced on here. After I had paid for my vehicle and arranged it to be picked up - Cormac texted me an unsolicited photo of my head gasket after he knew my vehicle was leaving the shop to tell me that I had a bad head gasket. As if this would have me stop what I was doing and have it handle for thousands of dollars. I refuse to believe this is a fair and honest tactic for sales. I was ready to have them do maintenance but after the way I was treated and spoken to - I was going to take mercy and give 2 stars because my car does start now. After finding a hand tight plug on something they shouldn't have touched. I wish I could give 0 stars.

The team at The Shop was incredibly responsive — they got back to me within minutes of scheduling my vehicle inspection, confirming dates and times without delay. When I brought my Tacoma in, they not only completed the inspection free of charge, but also replaced a few bolts with stripped threads at no cost. On top of that, they gave me honest, straightforward advice about the next steps for repairs. I left with way more insight than I expected, and it’s clear they genuinely care about helping their customers.

I brought my 2016 Mini Countryman in for a few issues and was extremely pleased with the experience! These are not their correct winter hours — they close at 5 p.m. I arrived at 5:20 last night, thinking I still had 40 minutes to pick up my car, but to my surprise, they were already closed, wasting my Uber fare. When I asked about it this morning, I was told I should have received a message about the winter hours — but I double-checked, and I didn’t. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, but I value my time, and I don’t appreciate having it wasted.

I am always pleased with the promptness, attention, competence and friendliness of the guys at The Shop. I rely on their evaluation and never have the impression that they push services on me that are not necessary, quite the opposite, as they have at times plainly say "this can wait"! I have been bringing my old but still perfectly functioning Audi A3 to Jason and his crew for years for regular checkups and I have to thank them for the car being in such good shape still. Highly recommend The Shop and its highly skillful staff!
